I have a hard time with prompt words, but since pictures often inspire me, I thought I'd see what images came up when I searched for each of the words. Then I was hit by a big wave of nostalgia after the lovely VigBean reunion at the Empire Awards and with the tenth anniversary of filming coming up later this year. So I started to see what images I could find in or about New Zealand related to each of the prompts. And so this series was born.

This is a series of vignettes, small moments of time during a long road trip taken to celebrate both of their birthdays and their tenth anniversary. They're not in any chronological or geographical order; there will be times when the geography is all fucked up but the story is pure fantasy and so is my New Zealand.

There is no plot or conflict or point other than two incredible men who are deeply in love taking a break from the craziness of their lives to be with each other in the country where it all began.

To read them in the order posted, view them by tags and go back about two pages and begin with Sheep. Or you can go to my first "announcement" post and use the links in the prompt table. While the ficlets can be read in any order, there is one very important caveat. The 'Daddy' prompt should be read last; it is the end of the journey and will work better being read at the end.

Big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] govi20 and [livejournal.com profile] mooms for organizing the [livejournal.com profile] seans_50 challenge. And a huge thank you to [livejournal.com profile] stormatdusk, not just for being a great beta but for all the incredible encouragement and handholding along the way. This has been such a fun experience. I hope you enjoy the pictures and ficlets as much as I have enjoyed finding and writing them.

I recently took part in the fantastic [livejournal.com profile] lotrips_remix in which you are assigned an author and have to choose a story of theirs to do a new 'spin' on. I was, somewhat dauntingly, assigned [livejournal.com profile] foxrafer and she took me into new territory - my first serious vigbean. Her original just clung to me and this is the result. Can be read alone or in conjunction with the original.

Title: Perhaps
Original Story: Vigbean for Stormatdusk by [livejournal.com profile] foxrafer
Beta: [livejournal.com profile] anobtuselife
Pairing: Vigbean
Rating: G, some angst.
Word Count: 1,491
Disclaimer: Not true, not for profit, not mine.

Summary: Viggo, exhausted and slightly out of it, attends a series of interviews in Rome in order to promote Alatriste. He is caught wrong-footed and the fall out from this is the subject of [livejournal.com profile] foxrafer's original fic, told from Sean's point of view from a point in time several weeks after the interviews. My remix delves a little into Viggo's state of mind during, and after, the interview. [livejournal.com profile] foxrafer's original story was inspired by a translation of an article posted in the Viggo News section at Viggo Works on July 5; the heading is Viggo Mortensen, by Lorenza Del Tosto.

If he had thought about it for that one precious second, he could have avoided the whole thing.

Pairing: Viggo/Bean

Archive: Lothlorien, [livejournal.com profile] sons_of_gondor, and Green Opals.
Feedback: Always appreciated.
Disclaimer: Absolutely did not happen. Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
Summary: May finds Sean satisfied with his solitary state.
Notes: This ficlet follows approximately a month after April: Personification (which in turn follows after January: Pathetic Fallacy, February: Meiosis and March: Dissonance), but can be read as a standalone if so desired. Much, much love to [livejournal.com profile] savageseraph, who singlehandedly marched me through this part, ignoring the moans that it was too hard and too frustrating, doling out reward and punishment as needed to get me across the finish line. I honestly couldn't have done it without her. Additionally, this fic is for [livejournal.com profile] shegollum and [livejournal.com profile] brigantine1. Happy Belated Birthday, ladies!

Title: Breathing in Space: Chapter 4 - Turning Point (4/5)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] foxrafer
Characters: Sean/Viggo
Rating: G
Warnings: AU. This is my version of the Enterprise-D, my timeline, definitely not 100% accurate to the real ST universe.
Archive: Rugbytackling
Disclaimer: All make-believe
Summary: Once upon a time, Sean and Viggo were both assigned to the Enterprise-D
Author's Note: Written for [livejournal.com profile] stormatdusk. This is a tech-heavy chapter, and I'm sure true Trekkies will cringe (and non-Trekkies will wonder what the hell all the babble is about). Huge thanks to [livejournal.com profile] caras_galadhon and [livejournal.com profile] moondreamer1, who when I didn't think I could write a Star Trek story told me not to worry about the techie stuff. :-) Another reason this took so long to finish was because I really wanted to get Data in the story. I tried to write a scene between him and Viggo and nothing felt right. I love Data too much to do him badly so he's only mentioned and the conversation is with Barclay instead.

Word count: 266
Beta: None.

Author's note: Although this is technically a stand-alone ficlet, it would probably be helpful to read the earlier ficlet to understand this one. They're both really short. Go on; it won't kill ya. It's linked above.

by
Bluespirit

Fandom: LotR RPS
Pairing: SB/VM
Rating: G
Summary: A little bit of good old-fashioned TLC.
Genre: established relationship, romance
Word count: ~ 400
Disclaimer: The following story is a work of fiction. The author is not making any claims as to the real life sexualities or preferences of the people portrayed here. This is purely for entertainment, not profit.

Notes:
1. This is a prompt ficlet for [livejournal.com profile] foxrafer who asked for: VigBean - chicken noodle soup, wax and cashmere. Hmmm, I may have been a bit fast & loose with the use of 'wax' but I hope you like it anyway! *g*
2. Thanks to the lovely [livejournal.com profile] lantean_drift for the read-through.

He was wiggling his toes on the welcome cool of the tile when a loud sneeze shattered his happy contemplation. It was followed by a faintly muttered, “Bollocks…” and the pitiful sound of snuffling.
[identity profile] foxrafer.livejournal.com
A version of this was written for [livejournal.com profile] angiepen in the [livejournal.com profile] slashababy fic exchange. I found myself heading toward a story with character death and turned it into a happy ending. But I believe the entire piece would have hung together much better if it continued along to the horribly depressing conclusion. I completely understand if you pass this one by (on any other day I'd be right there with you *g*). And I'm sure the writing gets fuzzier as this goes along because I had the most terrible time writing this. I will not be writing this kind of story again. :-) If you'd prefer to read the version with a happy ending, you can find it here.

1. A time-stamp prompt ficlet for [livejournal.com profile] rifleman_s who asked ‘Well I guess you know what I'm going to ask for! Yes, it's got to be Green Glass hasn't it?? What will 10 years have brought to their lives?’
2. It's been a lot of fun revisiting this universe - I do love these boys so ♥ - & I must thank [livejournal.com profile] rifleman_s for nudging me to write in it again.
