Viggo reached around him and cast away his own smoke. “Beautiful night.” His head was tipped back again and the stars were pinpoints in his irises. He wasn’t dressed in a suit, which was surprising as it was kind of de rigueur for these affairs, just a neat, plain shirt and a neutral-colored pair of slacks. Christian noted the minor rebellion and a memory surfaced. “Rather be off taking photos?”

White teeth flashed in the darkness and the narrow shoulders rose and fell. “Or drawing. Or writing. Or fucking.” The laser eyes fixed on Christian’s face for a telling second, then looked away again. “Anything.”
