A/N: The title comes from FoTR, chapter 3. This isn’t a story I intended to write; it’s turned out very differently than I imagined. Oh well. Thanks to pure_bird, trentsbytch and kelly_mercer for convincing me to go on with it. And, as ever, thanks go to sunsetmog whose comments let me know how I wanted it to end.


Billy's method of calming down Dom and Elijah and getting them to be friends again this time involved sex and he's standing in the kitchen in clothes he hastily pulled on (the jeans are his but he thinks the t-shirt is Elijah's) staring at the kettle and wondering whether he's just irrevocably fucked things up. And there's a bruise blooming on his neck where Elijah bit him and his body feels used and overheated.

Several months ago I stumbled onto a Dom/Billy fiction that I adored. I can't find it. If I describe it, can someone please help me out? Dom and Billy were married, in fact this was the sequel story to another one concerning their marriage. They engaged a surrogate to have their baby, a woman who had two fathers. The last section I read, they had returned a lost child to a baby supply store and got talked into making a "wish list". Does that ring any bells?
