Craig pulled his hands back as Maude dropped off their coffees, but smiled
at the blush. It made Orli look so alluring. He looked perfect already
but the blush just deepened it. He tried to concentrate as he ordered his
breakfast, then looked at Orli as he ordered his, almost unaware that he was
staring so openly staring, and secretly hoping, wishing.

_+_+_+_+_+

Orlando ordered, could feel Craig's gaze on him as he did--and it didn't
help the blush to go away. Once he had given his order, and Maude had
walked away, he turned his gaze back to Craig, chewing his lip.

"You know what I expect out of you, at least partially. What do you want from me, Craig?"

_+_+_+_+_+

Craig poured another sugar into his coffee as he thought for a moment. "I've
never done anything like this Orli. You have to understand that. I've
never..." He stirred, thinking, then brought the teaspoon up to suck on it as
he raised his eyes to Orlando's again, trying to word this right. "I've never
let anyone in...you know... But I want to let you in." Furrowing his brow a
little "Does that make sense?"

_+_+_+_+_+

It sort of made sense to Orlando, though it just seemed amazing--Craig was a
few years older than him and he had never tried anything like this? A
relationship? "Yes...it does," he said at length. "And I want to be let
in, believe me. I want to be what you think about, the only one you want."

_+_+_+_+_+

The spoon almost dropped from Craig's mouth at the thought of that, being
everything to Orlando. And yes, he felt this jump in his chest to, in his
heart. He took the spoon carefully from between his teeth, putting it back in
his cup and lowered his hand to Orli's, just touching it gently. "I like the
thought of that...and I hope I can be that for you...and you for me." He
smiled a little, looking more than a little lost, but very happy. "I just
hope I get the chance to..." One corner of his mouth rising slightly. "And I
hope I don't stuff it all up."

_+_+_+_+_+

Orlando was quiet for a few moments, simply looking at the hand on his. Was
he offering Craig that chance? Yes, he thought he was, even with all the
misgivings. "I'm just not sure about everything," he finally said, keeping
his eyes on their joined hands. "I'm just afraid...." He broke off,
shaking his head a bit. "I'm afraid of being hurt again." Because there were oh
so many ways that could happen in this situation.

_+_+_+_+_+

"Oh Orli, I never meant to hurt you." Tumbled out of Craig's mouth fast,
moving his other hand to lightly nudge Orli's chin up, eyes sincere, trying
to show him he meant it, how sorry he was.

"And I'm sorry. I was..." His voice lowered a little "I was scared of what I was feeling. And I ran away instead of confronting it."

_+_+_+_+_+

Orlando let Craig raise his chin, dark eyes meeting the other man's. "I
think I get it...and I understand running, but did you really need to fuck
everything you ran past?" A soft, wry smile.

_+_+_+_+_+

Craig smiled along with him, chuckling softly as he breathed out. "It's
just..." Then a deep breath in, trying to be serious for a moment longer. "I
want to say it's the way I used to be...not it's the way I am."

_+_+_+_+_+

"Then say it's the way you used to be, it's up to you," Orlando stated after
a moment, taking a deep breath and sitting back, running a hand over the
mohawk that was his current hair.

_+_+_+_+_+

"Then I shall say it. And I mean it. I'm not kidding myself, or you here. I
know this is going to be strange for me, and hard too. But I do want this.
And...and I'll do all I can to make it work. But...what do you want? From
me?"

_+_+_+_+_+

Orlando thought about Craig's question, only fair he ask it in return. What
he wanted though, the words that were about to come out, seemed so
simplistic, but they were true. "To be with you...I mean..." He blushed
softly, leaning forward again so he could speak softer, not caring for
anyone to overhear---even if it were only two people and they were
oblivious. "I've wanted nothing more than for you to pay attention to me
since I've met you. Really pay attention to me. That night in the
bar...when you came up to me. I guess...I guess I should have known better,
but I didn't want to believe it. I so badly wanted it to be how I saw it in
my head because how it actually was isn't how I wanted it to be..." He
realised he wasn't making a whole lot of sense, it was confusing even to
him. "I think I'll just shut up now."

_+_+_+_+_+

Craig sat still, almost stunned as he listened to everything Orli said,
blush starting to show on his face. And at the end he could do nothing but
smile for a small moment, eyes conveying exactly how happy he was to hear
something like that said about himself.

"Oh Orli don't, please don't ever stop saying things like that. It's beautiful." Craig grinned a little, blush still tingeing high on his cheekbones. "You're beautiful." He almost breathed out, sounding tender and warm.

_+_+_+_+_+

Which only served to make Orlando blush even more than he was, shaking his head slightly at the compliment. It hadn't sounded beautiful to his ears, only a
rambling mess--and as to he himself being beautiful, well... "You're all
I've thought about you know...since it happened, even when it was killing
me. Couldn't get you out of my head. That night..." ~How it ended~
Orlando didn't add the last bit though, no reason to twist that knife any
deeper.

_+_+_+_+_+

Craig wanted nothing more than to just kiss Orli right at that moment. He knew he
couldn't because of the public place, and the fact that their food decided
to arrive at just that moment.

Craig waited for Maude to leave before he replied. "You've dominated my thoughts too. And no-one...No-one," He stressed, "Has ever done that to me before. I hope I can make you feel again like you did that night. It was a wonderful night" Craig didn't want to think about the end of the evening. He hoped he'd said sorry enough for that, hoped Orli could come to terms with how it had ended.

_+_+_+_+_+

That did mean something to Orlando, assuming it was true--that Craig had
never felt like that about anyone. And he really had no reason to believe
it wasn't true. Granted, Orlando had hated how that night had gone, what
had happened afterwards, but Craig had never lied. He had never promised
Orlando things that weren't true, it was Orlando who had made assumptions of
something more.

_+_+_+_+_+

"You still owe me that shower," he finally said softly. "And I want to wake
up with you."

He would probably never admit it, but what had hurt the most were the
words...when Craig had said he could take a nap but would have to be out
before he awoke. Orlando wanted to be there when Craig woke up, curled
around him in bed.

_+_+_+_+_+

That stunned Craig a little. Sure he had thought of how this would change
him. But this was something he'd never thought about. "I..." He started,
uncertain of how this would be received, but wanting to say it anyway. "I've
never actually stayed with anyone before...all night I mean. And yes. I have
to admit I've fantasised about showering with you a lot this week." He
grinned softly, taking a bite of his food.

_+_+_+_+_+

Orlando chewed his lip, fork in his food, but barely even touched yet--the
conversation much more important than his food, and he was too wound up to
eat really anyway, so tired that he had moved into his third (or was it
fourth?) wind. He wasn't sure how to take what Craig had said though, wasn't
sure if it was an agreement that he wanted it too, that it would be
welcomed. "Are..." he stopped, rethinking what he wanted to say. "Would you
like to though? I'm not always going to have to be out before you get up or
wake up to find you gone, am I?"

_+_+_+_+_+

"Oh, I hope not...I hope..." He took a deep breath, eyes locked with
Orlando's. "You have to see how hard this will be for me. It's my whole way
of life I'll be changing...but it's for you. So I want to. I want to wake up
with you, wake up having held you all night. But I can't promise that there
won't be a few times where I'll get scared and bolt for a bit. I hope you can
understand that. But...but I'll always be back. I want to be everything you
want, everything you need. I want to open my heart and fall in love with
you. And I don't want to hurt you again. Not ever."

_+_+_+_+_+

"Just leave a note?" Orlando said after a moment. "And I know you're trying
to change, and that it's not easy. I don't mean to push you..." After a
moment, Orlando finally raised his fork to his mouth, taking a bite.

_+_+_+_+_+

"No...you didn't. And thanks for understanding..." The sentence ended in a
huge jaw breaking yawn, Craig raised his hand to cover his mouth, fork
forgotten on his plate. "I'm sorry. I guess it's late, or early, or
whatever!"

_+_+_+_+_+

Orlando wasn't sure he had any choice but to try and understand. "If you
want to go, we can." Looking down at his plate, Orlando realised he wasn't
overly hungry.

_+_+_+_+_+

Craig looked from Orli's plate to his. "I don't think we've done Maude's
cooking justice. But I don't think I can eat any more! You?"

_+_+_+_+_+

"We can get a to go box, I'm not as hungry as I thought. It will hit me
later, I have strange eating habits," Orlando responded.

_+_+_+_+_+

Craig nodded towards Maude. She seemed to know what he wanted and came over to sort their plates out, chuckling to herself quietly. "You
want to go to your home? Or...well, mine's closer?" Craig almost mumbled the
last words, not wanting to presume too much, well, not wanting to presume
anything at all.

_+_+_+_+_+

"Yours," Orlando said, almost without having to think about it. There was a
better chance of waking to find Craig there if they went to his home. He
could always leave if they were at Orlando's. "I think we should go to your
place."

_+_+_+_+_+

Craig was slightly surprised at the speed at which the young man said yes.
But he didn't show it any other way than smiling happily at Orli, even when
Maude came up with the two cartons of food. "Okay, lets go."

_+_+_+_+_+

Orlando nodded, pulling his wallet out to lay down money for their
breakfast, making sure to tip Maude well even though they hadn't been there
that long. "As long as that's okay with you?"

_+_+_+_+_+

"It is. Very." He got up, nodding a thank-you towards Maude, smiling at Orli
as he paid for the breakfast, picked up the food with one hand, other moving
to the small of Orli's back again to guide him out, liking the way it felt.
Like it belonged, as they walked towards the car.
