Disclaimer: Not real. Didn't happen. Do not own Dominic or Billy. That is all.

The night was setting in, stars twinkling in the darker part of the sky, while the horizon remained bright with a mixture of orange, pink and blue. Crickets were chirping, and the smell of a bon fire not too far off filled the air. Lazy summer nights were quite possibly the best time of the year.

Dominic sat on the steps of the deck, his legs dangling, flip flops barely hanging onto his feet. His shorts were riding low, the curve of his backside visible as he sat down, and a bottle of half finished beer loosely held between two fingers. He brought the bottle up to his lips and took a swig, focusing on the horizon once again. He heard the screen door behind him open, but didn’t bother to turn around. He grumbled a little when he felt a hand ruffle his hair, messing it up beyond the aid of hair gel. The creaking of the old, wooden steps soothed him, but his eyes still didn’t shift, even as Billy sat down beside him.

“Gorgeous, isn’t it?”

“Mmhmm,” Dominic muttered, sipping the last of his beer.

Billy would normally take offence to such a response, but the day had been long and Dominic was surely tired. Billy scooted closer to him, wrapping his arm around Dominic’s naked waist, and resting his head on his shoulder. Dominic looked down at him, and smiled.

“Tired?” he whispered, bringing his hand up and playing with Billy’s hair.

Billy scrunched up his face as Dominic’s fingers moved along his hair line. “Just a tad,” he replied, closing his eyes.

Dominic nudged Billy’s head off his shoulder, and before the Scot had time to look hurt, Dominic stood up and grabbed his hand, pulling him up off the steps. Billy didn’t ask questions, simply followed. Dominic tossed his now empty beer bottle onto the ground, and Billy stepped over it, still clutching Dominic’s hand. He was glad that they had rented a cottage so close to the beach, for it was obvious that the beach was Dominic’s destination. The beach would be empty now, the children that frequented it playing on the dirt roads, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over a fire. Billy sniffed the air.

Billy felt over-dressed compared to Dominic in his low riding shorts and flip flops. Even while he was dressed for summer, the t-shirt still seemed like too much. Dominic led Billy past the tall grass as they neared the boardwalk leading down to the beach, and then took his flip flops off, naked feet moving along the old wood, covered in sand.

It seemed almost impossible to Billy that everything that Dominic was doing could be so sexy. Just the way he moved, the setting sun making his skin glow, his eyes twinkle – everything was just so perfect. Billy moved closer to him, and Dominic laced their fingers, swinging his flip flops in his other hand as they walked.

As they reached the beach, Billy looked around and was thankful that his prediction had been right. The beach was void of anyone else, except the laughter of children, their bon fire merely a speck of dancing light miles away. Dominic turned to face him, and Billy’s breath hitched his throat. He tossed his flip flops to the ground, and then wrapped his arms around Billy’s waist, pulling him closer and nuzzling his chin against his neck. Billy groaned, wrapping his arms around Dominic’s shoulders, as the younger man dipped him back, and placed a slow kiss on the hallow of his throat. He pulled Billy upright, and then kissed his nose gently.

“Well, we’re down here, what now?” Billy asked, as Dominic smoothed his thumbs over his lover’s flushing cheeks.

Dominic shrugged. “I hadn’t thought that far, quite frankly.”

Billy frowned. “Then you mean that I have to come up with something?”

“Not at all,” Dominic replied. “We could just sit here and watch the sun set if you wish.”

Billy looked out at the sea, listening to the waves crash on the beach, the water capturing the last rays of the sun, millions twinkling lights set in it. Billy tore himself from Dominic’s grasp, and then began walking towards the water. Dominic simply stood and observed, smiling as Billy kicked off his sandals along the way. Next came the t-shirt, and then his shorts, leaving a trail of clothing to the water. Dominic followed, slipping off his shorts and setting them next to his flip flops. Billy was already waist high in the water, then stopped, turning back to face Dominic, who was not far off. The younger man reached him, slipping his arms over the wet skin, and Billy’s eyes fluttered closed. Dominic pressed a gentle kiss to the older man’s lips, and then began kissing down the length of his body. On his knees as he kissed his lover’s wet chest and tight stomach, dipping his tongue into his navel. Billy arched and groaned with delight.

The sun was gone now, a full moon looming overhead, a pale and eerie glow set amongst all the objects within its reach. Dominic nibbled Billy’s skin, leaving small love bites, and shoulder deep in the water. Billy reached down, running his fingers through Dominic’s hair, content to stay like this for hours more, just feeling him, being with him. A soft summer breeze swept past them, disturbing the water, only for a moment. But it didn’t disturb them.
