this is the epic i've been sweating over since last may. with the help of many, many people, and the tireless work of my improbably brilliant beta, k'sal, it's finally completely and totally finished.

the title was originally a working title, but after five months of writing, when i went looking for a normal title, nothing else seemed to fit. i'm very fond of this title, actually.
