Title: It’s Over
Author: HMC
Rating: G 0-0;
Pairing: Oh, I dunno, it’s pretty mild, so if any, Monaboyd
They’re all crying now, tears of joy, of sorrow, of relief, of every emotion their overwhelmed souls can muster. They’ve been through so much.... *so* much.
Dom is crying, but the only way you can tell is because of the tears. The corners of his mouth stay pointed upwards, his eyes smiling, his voice does not waver, and his hands don’t shake. When the errant tears slip out, he lets them go unhindered; he appreciates his tears, what it took for them to get there, and he would almost be ashamed to wipe them away.
Sean is misty eyed, but he has been through bigger moments than this. His wedding day, the birth of his children.... but this runs a close third. His voice cracks every now and then as he talks to reporters, but he remains, as always, the pillar of strength among the hobbits, clutching their hands and hugging them when he realizes his arms have been empty for far too long.
Elijah is sobbing. For him, this moment will never exist again. This concludes the most exiting chapter in the book of his life. He has seen the world, he has made lifelong friends, won awards, been hailed as the most talented young actor alive. His eyes are now both red and blue, the blue he has become famous for. He cries because this is the happiest moment in his life. He cries because from here on out, it can only go downhill, and that saddens him almost as much as winning the award makes him happy.
Billy cannot speak, for his throat is too constricted. His eyes are red and his nose is red, and his ears are red from crying. He feels betrayed by his own face as it turns different shades to accentuate his tears. At one point, he steps behind his costars and holds his face in his hands, finally letting his face contort into an expression that will better accommodate his sobbing. If anyone got a picture of him sobbing like a five year old, he’d never see nor hear the end of it.
He hardly notices when Dom takes Billy’s hands away and wraps the smaller man up in his arms. Billy cries into Dom’s expensive tuxedo jacket. “It’s over....” he forces out between gasps, and is unsure as to whether he is relieved or devastated.
Soon, Elijah has joined the hug, and Sean rubs Billy’s back.
The hobbits said goodbye.
