Drabbles

Title: Grilled Cheese
Author: Amy ([livejournal.com profile] queen_geek)
Pairing: Orlijah
Rating: PG-13 for boys kissing.
Summary: One grilled cheese sandwich is never enough.

The trouble with grilled cheese, mused Elijah, as he listened to the hisspop of butter against hot Teflon, is that one sandwich is never enough. You always want more. He pondered this for a while, listening to the quiet, repetitive snick of the seconds ticking away on his watch. He flipped the bread over in the frying pan, smiling at the sight of crisp golden brown and melting orange and white. When the second side was finished he turned off the stove, cut the sandwich in half on an angle, added a pickle that he plucked from the jar with two fingers and a thumb, and moved into the TV room. A bottle of Heinz stood on the table half a foot from where Orlando’s feet were propped, and the bottle glowed with reflected blue light from the TV. When Elijah sat down, Orlando leaned over and kissed him, and he tasted like mozzarella, cheddar, and catsup. And Elijah realized that grilled cheese sandwiches weren’t the only thing that he always wanted more than one of.

Title: Ice
Author: Amy
Pairing: Domlijah
Rating: PG-13 for boys kissing.
Summary: Dom always leaves one ice cube in the tray so he won't have to refill it.

Dom always left one ice cube in the tray. He figured that, if the tray was not fully empty, he didn’t need to fill it up again. This annoyed Elijah to no end, since there was never enough ice when he wanted it to keep his water cold. He carried the tray with him to his bedroom, where Dom lay on top of the sheets in Elijah’s plaid cotton pyjama pants, reading a script his agent had sent him. A glass of red juice sat sweating on the bedside table, and Elijah knew that there would be a ring in the varnish from the liquid.
“Dom? Next time, just take all the ice cubes. Don’t worry about filling the tray.” A grin, a twinkle in the eye, and Dom’s gaze dropped to his page again. Elijah sighed and scuffed his way across the carpet in the hall back to the kitchen. He plopped the last cube in his glass of water and turned the tap on, trickling. When each well was full, he placed the tray in the freezer, and jumped when arms wound themselves around his waist, grazing the bottom of his ribs and nearly tickling him. Cool lips pressed against the back of his neck, and gooseflesh rippled across his skin. When he turned around to kiss Dom back, Elijah appreciated the cold, fruit punch wetness of Dom’s tongue.

Feedback is lovely.

funny how when the person I actually live with leaves one ice cube in the tray, it drives me insane... but your drabble made think "awww"? Lovely little bit of writing. And for some reason I kept re-reading the "listening to the quiet, repetitive snick of the seconds ticking away on his watch", it has rhythm. Like how you supply the details (Heinz, Elijah's plaid pjyamas, etc), gives these drabbles a firm sense of reality.
