The sunlight filtered in through the window's curtain, falling across the large bed in the center of the room. Waking up, Dominic turned over and came face to face with -
"Gah!" Something large, fuzzy and black was staring him in the face. Hearing a low rumble of laughter, he sat and up and saw Elijah sitting on the end of the bed.
"Good morning."
"What the hell is that?" he asked, pointing the object beside him.
"A teddy bear. Happy Valentine's Day, Dommie." Elijah said as he came to sit beside him, picking up the aforementioned bear and putting it in between them. Dom stared at it. It was black, and had a big red ribbon around it's neck. It was kind of ugly, but at the same time, rather sweet. "Don't you like bears?" Elijah asked, sounding slightly nervous. It was their first Valentine's Day together, and he wanted it to be perfect.
"Yes, it's just… you're too much!" With that Dom leaned over and gave Elijah a long kiss. "Happy Valentine's Day" he mumbled against Elijah's mouth. Suddenly, he caught a whiff of something… smoke! "Is something burning?"
"Oh shit, the toast! I'll be right back!" Elijah said as he rushed out of the room. Dom sighed, and got out of bed. Hearing him come down the stairs, Elijah shouted from the kitchen "Get back in bed! You're not suppose to know what I'm doing!!" Silently chuckling to himself, Dom climbed back up the stairs, and got back in bed, absently playing with the teddy bear. Moments later, he heard much clattering and clinking as Elijah walked up the stairs and into the room, holding a tray laden with all the necessities needed for a late breakfast. The smell of eggs, ham, fresh coffee and the lingering smell of burnt toast wafted into the room.
"You made me breakfast in bed?" Dom asked.
"Yes, I wanted today to be special."
"It already is." Brushing a piece of hair out of his eyes, Elijah captured Dom's lips in a gentle kiss that grew in intensity. The coffee began to cool, as the tray was put down on the floor. The teddy bear was unceremoniously pushed off the side of the bed as the eggs began to toughen.
They didn't care.
