Blasphemy!
TITLE : Phantasmagoria.
AUTHOR : Rulinian Wexile.
RATING : PG
PAIRING : Peter Jackson/JRR Tolkien.
WARNINGS : Spiritual romance?
A/N : Been a while, hasn't it. This has been posted on my writing journal previously, but I thought I'd share it over on here as well, anyway. Is this pairing even allowed?
And on a side note, voting's up at Top 20 Slashiest Men Alive. Thought you might find that interesting.

He hears it every night, beside the forlorn sighing of the white curtains in the night gale, beside the noises of the wooden tourist cottage settling, beside the floorboards creaking as an occasional visitor makes his way to the ale cache. He had once found an old tape of JRR Tolkien reciting the Verses of the Rings; he now listens to it daily in his recording studio when the crew has departed ... or late at night, the same voice, only now murmuring low whispers of affection. Sometimes when he's asleep, or perhaps actually awake -- the difference seems far too vague to tell --- he senses a presence in the room, the presence of another person standing in the vicinity, but not entirely there. Something like a fading feeling, swarming in and out of existence, but nevertheless, a warm, comforting feeling, a feeling he could place ... from when he had first heard of and started admiring the professor. He has felt his hands, both cold and gratifying to the touch, he has felt equally, if not more, welcoming lips upon his own ...
Every morning, he hears the filming crew chatter outside his room, senses that Elijah probably scorched breakfast again ...
And feels much less.

But yes, haunting and quite beautiful too. Especially Something like a fading feeling, swarming in and out of existence, but nevertheless, a warm, comforting feeling, a feeling he could place .
Hmm... possibly haunting isn't the right word. Not sure. Haunting, but not in a scary way, just in a vaguely spooky, but... yeah. I think it may just defy description.
