Taking it slow, Part 1
Here's a new fic from me. It's more angsty and not as "MEGA-fluffy". *lol*
Rating:G
Pairing: BB/DM
Feedback: Yes please! :)
Summary: The thoughts in his head is making him crazy.
AN: I have [a lot] more written on this fic, but this is the first part. And it un-betaed so sorry about any misspellings and stuff.
Dom rubs his forehead, then his eyes. He tries to take the sting away but it really doesn’t work. He turns to look at the clock on his microwave. A little past 3 a.m. He has passed his bedtime long ago, and is dying to go to sleep, but his mind wont let him. He looks down into his cup of warm milk and sigh’s heavily as a tear trickles down his cheek and with a tiny ‘plop’ mixes with the hot liquid.
His eyes fix on his fridge where he has pictures of many cast and crewmembers of the Lord of the Rings. Since the fridge is a place Dom visits at least 10 times a day, it’s nice to have them there, smiling at him with bright eyes. Even though he spends all of his time with them, he feels like there’s a part of himself missing as soon as they split up for the day. He starts to count the people in the pictures.
Peter, Fran and Phillipa all making goofy faces. A close-up of Elijah’s left eye (slightly blurred. Elijah is even more bouncier when drunk). Pics of Orli, Ian and John. Viggo and Sean wrestling on the floor, with Liv in the background laughing with her whole face.
And there’s Billy. Dom can so clearly recall the night he took that picture. It was around midnight and he and Billy were sitting on Billy’s balcony, sipping a few beers. Dom, after taking a few quite good-looking pictures of the view, had turned to Billy and started adjusting the camera.
“Oh no you don’t, Dommie! At least not with the flash on. It’s way to late and it’ll make me look old!”
Dom had, knowing that Billy’s age was a sensitive subject at the time, turned off the flash and got inside to dim the lights up just a wee bit. Settling down next to Billy again, he had pointed his camera at him, waiting patiently until Billy had stopped making faces.
Billy’s face softened and he had given a small smile. –Snap-
Now Billy was looking back at him from the fridge, eye’s green and twinkling. His hair looked silvery gold. Yes, Dom was aware of how odd it sounded, but it really did. Billy’s smile had almost vanished from his lips but his whole face showed off tenderness and affection He looked like an angel.
Dom felt as if he could look at the picture for ages, but his eyelids got heavy and he rested his head on his arm. Feeling his body relax he slid down to the table and fell asleep.
Something startles him. There’s a loud noise coming from nowhere (or so it seems). He sits up, looks around and wonders what on earth he’s doing in his kitchen. Realizing it’s the mobile phone lying next to him at the table, ringing, vibrating and buzzing, he presses the talk button
“Mmyeh?”
“Dom, where the heck are you?! Get your butt over here right now; we start filming in less then an hour!” –Click-
He yawns, grabs his car keys and an orange and trots out the door, his whole body aching.
*Note to self: Sleeping on kitchen table makes body sore.
After a day of intense filming, he is wasted. The thoughts trying to invade his head have been pushed away all day and he knows he has to do something about it. He has to talk to Billy.
Thinking an SMS will be easier to start with he types down:
Wanna come over?
And within 30 seconds he receives an answer saying;
I’ll be there in a few.
Dom smiles but the smile turns into a frown when he looks around his place. It’s a mess. It’s one hell of a mess actually! He quickly cleans it up and then takes a look at himself in the mirror. He looks all right, doesn’t he? His eyes meet with the eyes in the mirror and he can se so much confusion. If he’s going to tell Billy then he might as well confront himself.
Dominic is bisexual – or is he? He tries to remember the last time he had sex with a girl, but all he can see is images of naked men moaning and coming. He sighs and the mist blur the confused bloke he sees, and then he disappears entirely.
He needs to do something, and he needs to do it fast. He reminds himself that he’s just about to do it, and his stomach turns. He reaches for the phone, trying to think of a good reason of telling Billy not to come. But he’s interrupted by a soft knock on his front door.
“Shite,” he murmurs under his breath as Billy lets himself in.
“Hey mate!” Billy says cheerfully and slouches down onto Dom’s black leather couch.
After sitting in absolute silence for 15 minutes (except Dom’s quiet “Hi”) Billy turns his head away from the wide-screen and gives him a concerned look.
“You look like a fish, Dom”
“Yeah well, you look like a horse!” Dom snaps back quickly and sticks his tongue out.
“Well, that’s not what I meant, although you do look a bit like Nemo” he chuckles a bit. “Seriously now, you’ve opened and shut you mouth for the entire time we’ve been sitting here. You trying to say something?”
He scoots over to Dom, but Dom stands up, he doesn’t have a need to be touched right now. He starts pacing around the room, almost dizzy with all the emotions washing over him.
“Dom?” If Billy would just shut up and let him speak when he’s ready! He sigh’s again, pondering. If he tells Billy the truth he might loose the best friend he’s ever had and just the thought is terrifying. But on the other hand, he might gain a lover…
“There’s no good way of saying this, so I guess I’ll just spill it. I think I’m in love with you,” Dom says quietly, almost whispering.
“Haha! Dom don’t say stuff like that, people could be fooled!” Billy laughs loudly until he sees Dom’s serious face. “Uh. Oh… You’re not kidding.” It’s both a question and a statement and Dom really doesn’t know what to do.
“I’m sorry if this comes as a shock for you, but I just had to be honest. I… Uh…” Dom trails off.
He has suddenly lost the ability to speak. Billy looks so confused, but there’s also an almost angry expression on his face. Dom is regretting it right away. He should’ve kept those feelings inside, locked up until he forgot! Billy stands up, eye’s on the floor.
“I wasn’t expecting this, Dominic. I have to go.” He walks out and shuts the door very quietly, and he’s gone. Dom walks to the front door and leans his head on it, letting the silent tears fall. What he doesn’t know is that Billy is mirroring him on the other side of the door, his head almost exploding with all the thoughts.
