Ficlet: Good Hands (BB/DM, PG)
Title: Good Hands
Part: 1/1
Author: Smilla smillasnowflake@livejournal.com
Pairing: BB/DM
Rating: PG
Summary: Billy is leaving the brothel.
Disclamer: This is fiction. Not true, not even lies, just fiction.
Feedback: I truly appreciate it. Every word I get.
Author's notes: Hooker AU ficlet for
shanalle's birthday. Thanks to
darkie for the very good and quick beta.
Billy is leaving. He is packing items of black leather and cold metal into an old scruffy sports bag. He keeps noticing how the remains of dried sweat have left the leather sticky. He doesn't know why he won't just leave all those things here. Out in the real world he won't need them. He is going to make sure not to need them.
There is a new boy in the house, living on the other side of the corridor a couple of rooms away from Billy. They have quickly passed each other in the narrow corridor a couple of times, hands nearly brushing, but they have never spoken a word to each other. Billy has heard most people calling the boy Dom and is aware of the countless jokes about how suitable the nickname is for this place. Billy thinks he prefers the boy's real name, Dominic.
Now carrying his bag out of his room, Billy sees Dominic standing in the corridor, laughing and joking with some of the other boys. Dominic's eyes are glinting with the kind of seemingly carefree sexuality that is typical for this place. But when Dominic notices Billy his face also shows unexpected, honest warmth.
Billy remembers being told that this Dom has a true porn star ass, but so far Billy has only noticed Dominic's strong, sensual hands. Nowadays Billy only wants to see things that are there for everybody to see. He already knows too many secrets as it is.
"Hands like that would still pull me back", Billy thinks, throwing his bag over his shoulder. "But things like that just don't happen in a place like this."
Billy takes a firm grip of his bag. When he passes Dominic he waves his hand and smiles.

Subtlety and brevity are probably the things I'd like to achieve the most in my writing so hearing this means a lot to me. Especially from someone who appreciates the same things in her own writing, too.
Thanks so much for commenting :)

Re:
BTW, mind if I friend you? I've been lazy with feedback but I like your fics and have been peaking in your LJ sometimes.
Re:
And friending is quite welcome! :) I believe there's a saying about the more, the more merry gets?...wait, no...the more the merrier!
