Title: The Boyband Theory

Summary: Drunken Elijah waxes philosophically about group dynamics in relation to boybands.

A/N: ink_stain wrote this for me in for a ficlet meme. I love group dynamic talk and I think she captured the relationships quite well.

Billy and Dom exchanged glances.

"Are you going to make the obvious joke, or should I?" Billy asked.

"I'll do it," Dom said, turning to leer at Orlando. "Would you like to have a little Dom in you?"

That is SO the best part. I absolutely can picture Billy turning to Dom asking which of them should say the obvious joke.

i completely love this ficlet. it makes me smile. i love group dynamics and that part that you cited, i think, shows how much Cherry [the author] can pick up the threads of their relationship. =)

That's so weird, because I was just talking about that in my own journal the other day. Except, of course, I was comparing them to the Backstreet Boys, because they are my favorite boyband, and I know a lot more about them than any other boyband out there. I got stuck on Billy, though. And then I didn't really want to compare Elijah to Nick Carter, because they are kinda different in personality. And then I couldn't decide if Sean was going to be Brian or Kevin. And then I got confused.

Long story short, I did that exact same thing, and I'm glad you brought this ficlet to my attention. And, I'm in a rambling mood right now, so sorry if this makes little to no sense.

Don't worry I've had the same conversation and theorization [not a word, but it sounded pretty good. heh] of hobbits/elf vs. boyband dynamics.

i just loved the way the dialogue just flowed. i'm overly happy at what she wrote for me. heh.

My friends and I may or may not have spent many hours debating who is who's counterpart in NSYNC/LOTR.

Dom is my Lance. Only, they're nothing alike, really, except that they both like to drink. And they have fake blonde hair. Or something. But yes. Love them both. Maybe a little too much, hahah. :)

And for the record, I think anyone who's a fan of boybands and LOTR has done the comparison. In fact, my friends and I have nicknamed the hobbits and Legolas NSYMO, using the last letters, of course, because we really just that obnoxious.

All of the boys were characterized really well in this one, I laughed my head off. It's so funny though: there are certain pictures they've posed for (especially the Hobbits) where it just SCREAMED "boyband" to me. Completely and utterly boyband. Although... I have to say they make it look really, really good.

I love group dynamic fics. I think Cherry did a fabulous job characterizing them all. Plus, I'm a sucker for drunken bar conversations in fic. *laugh* And I agree, some of the photo shoots that the Fellowship have done in the past, have screamed boyband...
