Chapter 21 – Chartering a Boat
10 March 2005
We need these next four weeks… we need the peace and quiet, we need the solitude, we need time to relax, and we need time, plenty of time to get over what happened. Well, not get over it - but to accept it. Accept it and move on. But Dom is not very good at moving on; he never has been, I am beginning to learn.
We have hardly left the hotel in four days, and Dom is on edge all the time. He won’t let me out of his sight. I knew he would be like this, I just knew it. So when I put the idea of us leaving the mainland behind for a few weeks, he really liked the idea…not at first, but eventually. It’ll be good; it’ll do Dom a lot of good…
“Hey…you…”
Elijah closed his journal as he felt Dominic’s arms slip over his shoulders.
“Don’t we have to get going? Don’t want to miss the boat.”
Elijah smiled as he looked up at Dominic. “We have time, plenty of time. She is not going to sail without us, is she?”
“No… no, you’re right.” Dominic placed a kiss on the top of Elijah’s head, and then turned back to his case to finish packing. He was ready, and quite keen to get out of this hotel. He felt suffocated in here. Every time they went down to the bar or restaurant he felt as if all eyes were on him and Elijah. He needed to get away, get Elijah away from here. Get Elijah away from everyone. The boat was a good idea… they would be alone, no onlookers, no gawkers, no fucking pervs. Just the two of them... and of course… their skipper.
**
“A boat?” Dominic looked at Elijah, who had his nose buried deep in a guidebook on the Greek Islands.
“Yes.” Elijah nodded without looking up.
“As in a small boat with sails?”
“Yes…”
“Don’t be daft. We can’t sail a fucking boat.”
“I didn’t mean that. We can hire a boat with its own crew; we would be its passengers. Elijah looked up at Dominic who was sitting on the bed with a ‘no fucking way’ look on his face.
“A crew.” Dominic did not like that idea. He shook his head. “I don’t think so, Lij.”
“Dom…” Elijah got up from his chair and went over and sat down by Dominic. “We can’t stay locked up in here forever.”
But you’re safe in here, Elijah. No one can get you in here.
“I can cancel our other hotel bookings and we can go down to the harbour, find a boat and hire it. We can go and visit the islands. It’ll be quiet, it’ll be nice.”
Dominic chewed on his bottom lip as he looked at Elijah’s hopeful face. Just the thought of boats and sailing made him think of fucking Hasad… and that memory would take an age to fade, of that he had no doubt.
“Dom, it’s out of season right now.” Elijah carried on trying to urge Dominic into some sort of action. “Let’s go to the harbour and see what’s on offer. We can’t stay in here, you know we have to get out.”
Dominic was still unsure. Hiring a boat and crew. Getting on board a small vessel with people they didn’t know, what if one of the crew wanted….?
“Dom… I know what you’re thinking, and I have an idea.” Elijah could see the look on Dominic’s face. “Come on, let’s get a taxi to the harbour… what have we got to lose?”
So reluctantly, Dominic agreed.
**
That was yesterday, and now here they were about to book out of their hotel, and he wouldn’t be sad to leave it behind. Dominic looked around the small room, and then at Elijah who was sitting on the floor trying to put his trainers on.
“Is it no better, Lij?” Dominic got down onto his knees to help Elijah.
“No… no it’s not.”
Dominic took the trainer out of Elijah’s hand and loosened the laces a little more. He gently slipped it on to Elijah’s swollen foot. “Maybe it needs to be seen by a doctor, Lij… I’m sure it’s getting worse.”
“It’s ok, I just badly twisted it when I fell, that’s all… don’t worry, it’ll be better soon.”
Dominic looked up at Elijah’s face. Four days had passed since the attack, and the bruises were still very much in evidence, but the injury to his mouth was healing quickly. That morning Dominic had been able to kiss Elijah gently and without hurting him, and they both had enjoyed that very much.
“Dom?” Elijah’s voice brought him back to the present.
“Sorry…” Dominic shook his head, and then returned to the task in hand. He carefully tied Elijah’s laces, and then stood up. He offered Elijah his hand and pulled him up onto his feet.
“I suppose we had better get going then.” Elijah turned to leave.
“In a minute…” Dominic pulled Elijah towards him so that their faces were only inches apart. “It’s as you said, Lij. We have plenty of time.” He then pressed his mouth against Elijah’s lips, which parted at once, inviting Dominic’s tongue in. A jolt shot through Dominic’s body, as it always did when he kissed Elijah. Warmth spread from his groin to his thighs. He pulled Elijah in closer, his kiss became deeper… and the boat? Well that could wait just a fucking while longer…
**
When they had arrived in Piraeus, late yesterday afternoon it was busy and noisy, just as it was when they had docked there three days ago. All Dominic could think of was the way he had battled his way off the cruise ship, through hordes of smiling, happy people. He had wanted to tell them all to just fuck off, and get out of his way. And the memory of leaving Elijah behind was still lurking in the back of his mind. That memory would never leave him, or the guilt. Christ! Well it won’t ever fucking happen again, he was sure of that. No bastard would ever hurt his Elijah again. Nothing would.
“We are going to have to ask someone.” Elijah looked at the piece of paper in his hand. “We’ll never find it on our own.”
“Let me see.” Dominic took the piece of hotel stationary off Elijah. The hotel receptionist had written down an address for Elijah - a charter company that she thoroughly recommended.
Someone stopped in front of them, and Dominic looked up and frowned. The man spoke to them in very broken English. Elijah went to give him the address they were looking for, but Dominic snatched it back and pulled Elijah away from the stranger.
“Dom!” Elijah was a little irritated. “We need to ask someone…”
“In here…” Dominic looked back over his shoulder at the man who was still staring at them both. Fucker… He steered Elijah into a small café. “We’ll ask someone in here.”
Elijah sighed in acceptance.
“I’ll do it. You wait here.” Dominic indicated an empty table.
Elijah went to sit down.
“No, on second thoughts, you come with me…” Dominic took Elijah’s hand and pulled him out of the seat.
“Dom…” Elijah began to protest, but saw the worry in Dominic’s eyes.
“Come on…” Dominic turned and made his way to the counter. He gave the address to a young lady who studied it for a moment. Then she called someone from the kitchen behind her, who looked at it too.
After what seemed to be a lengthy discussion between the two staff members, Dominic was finally given directions. He was glad to get back out into the fresh air. Too many people in there, looking, staring, wanting….
“How far?” Elijah asked. He had wanted to stay in the café, and order a coffee, but thought better of it. Dominic seemed desperate to leave.
“Not far… come on, Lij.” Dominic took Elijah’s hand and held on to it tightly as they slowly made their way through bustling locals and wandering tourists.
*
Dominic sat down on the harbour wall, refusing to go any further. He didn’t like what he was seeing. Boat after boat of fucking Hasad look-a-likes. This was not a good idea.
“What’s wrong?” Elijah sat down beside Dominic.
“This isn’t going to work, Lij. I can’t get on a boat with … with them.” Dominic indicated is hand to the flotilla of boats bobbing by the harbour wall. “And you’re not going to either… no way.” Dominic stood up. “It’s no good, let’s go back to the hotel.”
“Dom, we need a crew, and yes I can see your concern. But if we can find this address, then it’ll be ok.”
Dominic shook his head. “They’re all the same Lij. I don’t like it. I don’t want you going on any of them.”
“Dom… Dom you’re not listening again. This place… this company…” Elijah pointed to the now crumpled piece of paper in Dominic’s hand. “They only deal with female crews. It’ll be perfect.”
“Female crews?” Dominic hadn’t even thought of that idea.
“Yes… now are we going to find this place, or not?”
*
The plan was falling apart. Out of season, no crews available, sorry.
Elijah just stared at the receptionist as she clicked away at her keyboard. She shook her head again.
“If you come back in four weeks, then we will have plenty for you to choose from… unless…” The receptionist continued her search on her database. She looked up at Dominic and Elijah. “There is one boat, it’s small, but her skipper is one of the best. She overhauled it last month and has been out to sea these past two weeks.” The receptionist picked up the radio beside her computer. “Let me see if I can call her. Please take a seat.”
Dominic and Elijah sat down on the wooden chairs, not feeling very hopeful at all. They watched the receptionist as she spoke into her radio, not having a clue what she was saying. She seemed to be on there forever.
Elijah looked around the building they were in. For a company specializing in female crews, the place looked pretty unfeminine. It was lacking décor, and could do with a good lick of paint.
“Ok…” The receptionist indicated that Dominic and Elijah return to her desk. “If you would care to wait one hour, Danae will be here to speak to you. She is returning to port now.” The receptionist smiled at them both. “She is one of our best.”
Elijah looked at Dominic who just shrugged his shoulders. What did they have to lose?
*
The hour lengthened into two, and Dominic and Elijah had drunk enough coffee to keep any boat afloat, when the person they had been waiting for finally arrived.
“I’m so sorry...” She smiled at Dominic and Elijah, and went straight over to them and shook their hands. “The delay was too long, please… accept my apologies. I am Danae.”
Dominic and Elijah both nodded and introduced themselves. Danae took a seat opposite them. “Ok, you would like to charter my boat, for four weeks?” She asked.
Elijah nodded, and went to say something, but Dominic got in there first.
“I want to ask one thing, before we go any further.” Dominic slid his arm around Elijah’s shoulders, rather protectively. “We’re gay, is that going to be a problem?”
Elijah looked at Dominic in shock, but Dominic kept his eyes forward as he watched for any reaction from the woman sitting in front of him.
Danae took a moment to study the two men sitting opposite her. The blonde one, Dominic, an air of defiance seemed to emanate from him, and the other one, Elijah so pale, and bruised. She wondered just who she was going to be taking on board with her.
“No problem.” Danae looked from Dominic to Elijah, “Now would you like to see the boat?”
**
The taxi dropped them off as near to their destination as possible, but it was still a long walk to the boat. Dominic was trying to figure out a way of getting their entire luggage from A to B, because there was no way that Elijah would be able to carry his case, he was having a hard enough job just walking.
“I’ll wait here… you take yours, then come back for mine, and then we’ll go on together.” Elijah knew that Dominic was going to hate that idea, but there was no other way.
Dominic stood with his hands in his pockets, reluctant to leave Elijah on his own.
“Shit!” He eventually picked up his case. “I’ll be right back…I’ll be really quick… I’ll…”
“Dom, I’ll be fine… now go.”
Dominic kissed Elijah quickly on the lips, and then vanished into the crowds of people. Elijah sat down on his suitcase and waited for Dominic to return.
*
Quiet Storm was a small sailing yacht, but quite capable of taking on board six passengers as well as her skipper. Dominic and Elijah looked at the double berth, which was going to be their home for the next four weeks. It seemed ample enough with its own ensuite shower and toilet.
Danae insisted that they used one of the empty cabins to store their luggage and clothes; they had the space so they may as well use it. She showed them the galley where all on board meals would be prepared. It seemed spacious enough, and the dining area gleamed, its teak table and chairs were polished to the highest degree.
Dominic and Elijah took a seat at the table, while Danae set about boiling water for coffee. Once it was prepared she sat down opposite them, and opened a large blue folder.
“I prepared a basic schedule. Of course it will depend on the weather, but please, look, tell me what you think.” Danae turned the large map around so that Dominic and Elijah could look at it.
They did, and they didn’t have a clue what they were looking at, it could have been a map of the moon for all they knew… except of course, that the moon didn’t have any water.
Danae smiled at them. When she had met them the day before she knew that they were complete novices, so she had spent time last night preparing an itinerary. She had asked them a few brief questions, and from those she gleaned that more than anything they wanted privacy, they did not want to visit anywhere that was teaming with people. Remote and quiet, that seemed to be the key.
Luckily this time of year, remote and quiet was possible.
“Here…” she pointed a finger at the map. “This is the southernmost island of what we call the Ionian Islands, and we shall make sail tomorrow morning. This island Kythira, is one of the least visited islands of all. Very unspoiled… visitors tend to by pass it… it is very beautiful, very peaceful. We will reach it by tomorrow evening. Then from there we shall sail south to this area, the Cyclades. There are 39 separate islands here, 15 of which are still uninhabited. There are very many beautiful beaches and coves, which I am sure you would like to visit. And then we shall continue on to this group of islands, the Dodecanese. Again very beautiful, and maybe it will be warmer there than it is now. We shall see. And from there, we shall sail back to the Cyclades and then to Piraeus.”
Dominic and Elijah followed her finger as she pointed to the different areas on the map.
“There will be many chances to disembark, I shouldn’t think that you would want to stay on board the whole time.” Danae carried on speaking to them. “ I have selected the islands which I think will be suitable and have written down places of interest. I will leave these details with you, if you would like to change anything, please let me know.” Danae paused and looked at them. “If there is anything you would like to know, please ask, I am here to help you.”
“Thank you…” Elijah smiled at Danae. “You have been very helpful. We’ll look at these, won’t we Dom?”
Dominic nodded, but he didn’t look up or say anything.
“Ok… “ Danae rose from her seat. “Once you have finished your drinks you must come up on deck. I need to show you both all the safety procedures that are necessary for your trip. Now if you will please excuse me…” Danae smiled and left them on their own.
“Hmmm…” Dominic looked around the dining cabin.
“Hmmm… what?” Elijah sipped his drink.
“I don’t know, this all seems a bit weird. Feels like I’m not in control.”
“Dom quit worrying. This is going to be great.”
“I dunno, we sort of have to trust her for everything, and I mean everything. Not sure that I like that idea.”
“You want to get off, then?” Elijah placed his cup down on the table at looked seriously at Dominic.
“No.” Dominic shook his head. “No, Lij… you’re right. I just worry too much. This is nice, really… really it is. Just me and you, and… well… well… her hovering around somewhere.”
“Dom!” Elijah half laughed, not quite knowing if Dominic was serious or not. “This is private, this area we are in now. I’m sure it is. Apart from meal times, that is. Unless you want to cook?”
“Fuck off, Lij. I bloody hate cooking at the best of times.”
“True.” Elijah finished his drink and opened the blue folder again. Inside was a detailed layout of the boat. He studied it for a minute and then looked around the cabin and saw a small door at the far end of the galley.
“There you go. Look… Skipper’s cabin, it’s completely separate from ours. She comes out of the door to prepare the meals, then goes back through it and presumably can get up on the deck from there. This is our own little floating hotel. Way bigger than the Orient Express.”
“Hmmm…” Dominic smiled as he remembered those fantastic days being locked in Elijah’s arms on that wonderful train. Yes, this was going to be good, more than good. Just himself and Elijah, no other fuckers around…and the Skipper, well… he fully intended keeping out of her way.
Dominic smiled at Elijah… for the first time since that god-awful morning he felt relaxed, and Elijah looked happy. Elijah seemed to have put Hasad’s vicious attack well and truly behind him, with barely a tear shed over it, which had to be a good thing - didn’t it? If only he could do the fucking same. Dominic took hold of Elijah’s hand and gently squeezed it. Yep, this boat was definitely a good idea.
**
Dominic opened his eyes, and sat up slowly. For a moment or two he wondered where he was. Sunlight filtered in through the small window at the foot of their bed and he could hear a low humming, throbbing sound. The boat was moving – they were on their way. He looked at his watch. It was 8am, and he was surprised at how heavily he had slept. He slipped his watch onto his wrist, and then ran his hands over his face and through his hair. He could probably do with a shower.
Dominic heard Elijah murmur beside him and he looked down at his sleeping lover. The bed covers has slipped away from his upper body, and the first thing that Dominic saw was the bruising on Elijah’s shoulder.
So much pain, Lijah… and so much fucking torment…
Dominic looked back to the window and sighed heavily. I wish I could’ve helped you, Lij.
He recalled the long talk that they had had the morning after he had threatened to leave. And he had made sure that he had listened; and as hard as it was to accept Elijah’s reasoning, he could see why he had done it.
He would have reacted too. Elijah was right. Well no… he would have over-reacted. Just like he always fucking did, and things would have been worse, he would have made them worse… Dominic could see that now.
There would probably be no Elijah lying asleep beside him now, had Elijah told him about Hasad, and he himself would probably have ended up dead, too. Jesus… what a fucking scenario.
Elijah knew him better than anyone, better, even, than himself. He knew Dominic so well, that he suffered at the hands of that fucking bastard. And Dominic couldn’t help but feel guilty about that. Guilty that Elijah had to keep it from him. But Elijah had done the right thing, and had suffered for it.
Dominic looked at Elijah again; he felt his throat tighten as he took in Elijah’s pale features. The early morning sunlight shone through the small window, its diffused light dissolving on the pillow beside Elijah’s sleeping head. The bruises on Elijah’s chin looked almost black in comparison with the whiteness of his skin.
Too much pain…Lijah… because of me… Dominic felt tears brimming.
Elijah stirred and opened his eyes. He blinked a few times before reaching out to find his glasses, but Dominic stayed his hand and leant over him, kissing him softly on the mouth.
Elijah responded sleepily as he felt Dominic lower his body onto his.
“Love you, Lijah…” Dominic moved his mouth along Elijah’s chin, pressing his lips against the vile discolorations that marred the beauty of the man beneath him. “I love you so much…”
Elijah shifted slightly underneath Dominic; through the bed linen he could feel Dominic’s cock beginning to harden against his groin.
Love you… Dominic carried on with his kisses, feather light touches of his lips and tongue gliding across Elijah’s smooth skin. Love you so fucking much…
Elijah smiled and languidly raised his arms above his head. He closed his eyes as he felt Dominic’s mouth leave a wet trail across his chest as he briefly sucked on each nipple in turn. Being woken up by Dominic loving him was something that Elijah always loved experiencing. The warmth and tenderness that Dominic would lavish on him was always second to none when lovemaking started their day.
Elijah felt the bedcovers slide off him as Dominic pulled them completely away from his body, then he felt Dominic’s mouth and tongue sweep downwards, stopping at his elvish tattoo.
Dominic kissed the small tattoo, he always did. He loved that tattoo, and he loved the fact that he had also kissed that very spot, long ago, before it was marked forever. He sucked the inked area into his mouth; aware now, that Elijah’s cock had thickened and hardened and was pressing against his chest. God…Elijah…so hard for me…
Elijah felt his body beginning to tense in anticipation as Dominic’s mouth went lower, and then he shuddered as Dominic’s lips paused for a second before sliding over the head of his cock. The feeling was always incredible, having his cock in Dominic’s mouth. God, it was like nothing else… the way Dominic’s tongue would curl its way around the head, drawing all his nerve endings up to almost breaking point.
“Dommie…” Elijah whispered as he lowered his hands to rest on Dominic’s head; he weaved his fingers through Dominic’s hair, his breathing was beginning to labour from the pleasure he was receiving. “Oh, God… Dommie…”
“Hmmmm.” Dominic murmured softly, his lips tugging firmly at Elijah’s taut flesh as he began working his mouth up and down the long, hard shaft.
“… God…” Elijah began to rock his hips in time to Dominic’s ministrations, and Dominic took him in even further, relishing the way that his mouth was filled with Elijah’s hardness.
Dominic moved his hands in order to hold Elijah’s hips firmly down on the bed. He wanted to do all the work for Elijah. He wanted Elijah to come without effort. He wanted him to just lie there and let his, Dominic’s mouth, do all the work on his cock, he wanted to feel it harden and swell even more against his tongue.
Dominic began to increase the pressure of his lips as they slid up and down; he used his tongue to lick off any precum that leaked out.
Elijah’s hands were now twisting in Dominic’s hair as the pleasure he was receiving intensified. He wanted to push himself deeper into Dominic’s mouth…oh God… Dommie…he wanted to thrust, but was unable to move… Dominic’s mouth continued to suck, and to pull and tug on his cock, over and over again. His whole fucking being was concentrated there, inside the heat of Dominic’s mouth.
“… Dom… oh… God…” Elijah felt everything rushing downwards into his groin, as the inevitable wave began. “Dom… I… hnnn…” Heat flared as a coil deep inside him tightened, drawing his testicles up and engorging his cock a little more … and then… the coil snapped. Elijah groaned loudly as his orgasm took him. He tugged Dominic’s head down, trying to push his cock in even further as he felt himself empty down the back of Dominic’s throat.
Dominic sucked hard and swallowed as Elijah came in his mouth. He pulled back as he did so, not wanting to gag, but also not wanting to miss any of the hot sticky fluid as it filled his mouth. Eventually, when he felt that Elijah had finished as his body relaxed, and his hands loosened the grip on his head, he pulled Elijah’s spent cock from his mouth and kissed it gently before licking his lips.
Elijah was looking up at him in that content, just - fucked way that he had. God, he looked beautiful, no… more than beautiful…Christ… Dominic crawled up Elijah’s body and began kissing him, pressing his mouth down on that exquisite mouth, wishing that he could put his own hard cock in-between those wonderful lips, but he knew Elijah was unable to do that, not yet. But soon, in a few days… just a few more days to wait until Elijah’s mouth would be able to engulf him and swallow him down again.
Dominic groaned softly at that thought, and ground his erection into Elijah’s thigh. He needed to make love to Elijah right now - not fuck him, but make love to him. Enjoy entering him and filling him, and being part of him…Oh god… yes… being part of him…being joined to him…God, Lijah… I love you so fucking much…
“Dom…” Elijah pulled back from their kiss. “What can I do?” He could feel the solid heat of Dominic’s cock pressing against him. He lowered his hand to take hold of it.
“I want to love you, Elijah, make love to you…” Dominic kissed Elijah again, and then jerked when he felt Elijah’s fingers worm their way in-between their bodies and wrap themselves around his cock.
“Oh, baby, I just need to love you…” Dominic pressed his mouth harder onto Elijah’s, but stopped when he heard a faint whimper.
“God… I’m sorry, Lij. I’m sorry….” Dominic pulled back, knowing that he had kissed too hard. “I just want you Lijah… I always want you.” And more than ever now… more than ever.
Elijah swallowed hard and nodded, the throbbing in his mouth was already beginning to subside. He ran his fingers down the side of Dominic’s face, wanting to erase the concern that now seemed permanently etched there.
“I love you…” Dominic leant forward and kissed Elijah on his forehead, this movement made his cock rock in Elijah’s hand. “God, I love you…”
Dominic reached out to the drawer beside the bed and opened it. He groped around for the small tube of lubricant, and then when he found it he sat up and straddled Elijah. Elijah still held Dominic’s cock, and gripped it more firmly as he began moving his hand up and down its length. He smoothed his thumb over the swollen head as he did so, drawing out the little bead of fluid that was gathered there. Then he sucked it off his thumb.
“Oh…God. Lij…” Dominic watched Elijah; he was mesmerised by his tongue. Elijah smiled up at him, and Dominic felt his cock stiffen more. “You are so fucking beautiful, Elijah… have I ever told you that?” Dominic suddenly felt a rush of emotion, and desperately tried to keep a check on it as he felt tears prick his eyes. This could have all have been so different. They had been close, so close to never having this anymore. Jesus, that thought was too terrible to even contemplate.
“Let me taste you, Dom.” Elijah took hold of Dominic’s cock again.
“Oh…Lijah…” Dominic voice sounded choked as he shuffled his knees forward until they came to stop underneath Elijah’s arms. Elijah let go of Dominic’s cock and raised himself up onto his elbows.
“Just want to taste you, Dommie…”
Dominic took his cock and placed the head of it against Elijah’s lips, and then Elijah flicked his tongue over it sending shivers throughout Dominic’s body.
“Jesus Christ, Lij…”
Elijah then kissed the tip, capturing the small amount of fluid that was there on his tongue, and then he licked it one more time, before looking up at Dominic.
“You fucking kill me, Elijah, all the time. All the fucking time. Christ, but I love you…” God how I love you… Dominic blinked his tears away as he bent down to kiss Elijah softly on the lips. “Now, baby…now, I’m going to make love to you, I want to love you, be inside you… Turn over Lijah… turn over. Let me kiss you, I need to kiss you… all over…”
Although Elijah couldn’t see clearly the look in Dominic’s eyes, he could hear the love and emotion in his voice. It’s ok, Dommie, he thought as he rolled over onto his stomach. It’s ok, we’re here, I’m here, everything is going to be fine now…
Dominic placed his knees on either side of Elijah’s body, and leant forward pressing his mouth against the nape of Elijah’s neck. His cock rubbed achingly against Elijah’s buttocks as he did so. I’m never going to let anything bad ever happen to you again, Elijah. Not ever. I won’t allow it…I can’t fucking allow it… Dominic ran his tongue deftly down the line of Elijah’s spine, feeling Elijah’s body quiver under his touch. You are everything to me, Elijah… everything. My life, my hope, my only reason for living, for fucking existing… Dominic breathed in deeply as he urged Elijah to bend his knees up underneath his body. I’m going to look after you, Elijah; nothing will ever come between us again…not ever… Dominic placed his hand between Elijah’s thighs parting them gently; he cupped Elijah’s balls as his tongue swept down the crease of his buttocks before pausing. He took a moment to look down at the man lying underneath him, and an overwhelming wave of emotion gripped him. I love you, and I fucking failed you, and this time Dominic let his tears fall silently. But never again baby…never again…Dominic lowered his mouth and pushed his tongue deep inside Elijah, holding Elijah’s hips still as he did so. He felt Elijah’s body squirm and dissolve beneath him at the exquisite invasion of his tongue. God, Lijah…I love you…I fucking love you…
*
Elijah looked up from the table as Dominic entered the galley; his hair was still wet from the shower.
“Where does she keep all the towels?” Dominic opened one of the spare cabin doors and peered into the small room.
“Use mine, I left it on the bed.” Elijah poured a glass of fruit juice for Dominic while he waited for him to return.
Danae had left out a breakfast buffet for them. Yoghurt with walnuts and honey, thick crusty bread with a selection of cheeses, and a large plate of different sweet pastries. One of which Elijah had just sunk his teeth into.
“Looks good.” Dominic made his way over to the table and sat down opposite Elijah.
“It’s wonderful…” Elijah spoke with his mouth full; today was one of the first days it didn’t hurt too much to eat. “Would you like some tea?”
Dominic laughed out loud at Elijah.
“What?” Elijah looked confused.
“Come here you…”
“What?” Elijah asked again as he got out of his seat.
“You…” Dominic stood up… “Are fantastic… and you’ve never been able to eat croissants with any finesse.”
“Pardon me?” Elijah put on his best English accent.
“Sugar…”
“What?”
“Here…”
Dominic placed his mouth over Elijah’s and licked off all the sugar that had stuck to his lips.
“Dom!” Elijah protested very mildly.
“And it’s all over your chin too…” Dominic let his tongue run down over Elijah’s stubble, licking up the sugar granules as he went.
“Stop it…” Elijah began to giggle.
“And here…” Dominic placed his lips against Elijah’s throat and suckled gently.
“Dom, stop it…” Elijah giggled again, aware that he could feel the first signs of arousal stirring in his groin. “Really, Dom…don’t…”
They heard a door open, and Dominic pulled back, feeling himself redden as he saw Danae staring at them both.
“I’m so sorry, excuse me.” Then she turned and left them alone.
“So much for fucking privacy.” Dominic sat back down in his seat feeling a little annoyed.
Elijah just shrugged his shoulders. “Maybe we should have eaten earlier.”
“I did...” Dominic grinned and winked at Elijah.
“Yes… yes… you did.” Elijah smiled back at him.
“Well, I suppose we ought to eat this, if she wants to clear up.” Dominic looked down at the wonderful spread in front of him.
“I think that’s the plan.” Elijah took another bite of his sugar-covered pastry, but this time he wiped his mouth clean afterwards.
Dominic laughed at him and then selected some food for himself.
*
Elijah made his way up on deck, Dominic followed closely behind him. He looked around for Danae and saw her standing at the helm. The sails had been hoisted and were billowing in the wind. It looked a magnificent sight. Dominic sat down on the lower bench and looked at the direction they had come, the wake of the boat left a long white trail foaming behind them. When he looked back he saw that Elijah had gone up the steps to Danae and was speaking to her.
“This is wonderful.” Elijah was smiling broadly as he looked around him. “It must be hard work though, having to operate this boat single handed.”
Danae shook her head. “Elijah, I have been sailing for thirty years, ever since I was a child I was on a boat. Sailing is a big part of my life.”
“Yes… yes, I can tell.” Elijah looked over to Dominic and smiled at him, but he didn’t smile back.
Danae saw this and she turned to Elijah. “I am very sorry for interrupting you this morning, Elijah. I failed to inform you of this morning’s mealtime. When we are at sea all day, I really have to adhere to my schedule. There is a lot of work for me to do, as you can gather. Meal times are the only time that I will be below deck with you. I usually inform my guests the night before, but I failed to do so on this occasion. Please accept my apologies, and would you please pass them on to Dominic.”
“Yes, of course. Don’t worry…”
Danae nodded and then returned to her task in hand.
“So it’s 12 hours sailing today, isn’t it?” Elijah rubbed his arms briskly against the chill of the sea breeze. He took a step towards the side of the boat and gripped the railings.
“Yes…” Danae was pleased that Elijah had read the paperwork that she had left for them. “We will drop anchor at Agia Pelagia. A very pretty place, to the north of Kythira. Maybe you will want to go ashore tomorrow? I will have to get supplies.”
“Yes, maybe…” Elijah looked over at Dominic who was now looking out to sea. He doubted that Dominic would want to go ashore, not yet anyway. He wasn’t blind to Dominic’s feelings or his fears. He knew that Dominic was seeing this boat as a safe place, a haven even. A place where nothing, or no one could come between them.
“So,” Danae’s voice broke into Elijah’s thoughts. “Have you ever sailed a boat, Elijah?”
“No.” Elijah shook his head. “I’ve been in row boats, but of course that is not the same thing.”
Danae laughed. “No, very different.” She glanced over at Dominic before continuing. “If you want to learn some basic skills, either of you, then I will only be too happy to show you. A lot of my guests really enjoy that, and even end up helping me.”
“That would be cool.” Elijah nodded, and then he looked down at his injured foot. “In a few days maybe, I can’t do too much just now.”
“Yes, I know.” Danae looked into Elijah’s eyes wondering if the facial bruises and the bad limp that he had, were connected in any way.
“I’m going to sit with Dom now.” Elijah smiled at her, and then slowly made his way over to Dominic, grabbing hold of anything he could to help him keep his balance.
He stepped down the two steps to join Dominic on the bench, at the stern.
“Ok, Dom?”
“Of course…” Dominic put his arm around Elijah and pulled him in. “More than ok, because you’re with me.”
“Good.”
Dominic glanced up at the skipper; she was looking at them both. He turned to Elijah and took his face in his hands and then kissed him full on the lips. When he glanced back at Danae she was still staring at them.
She thinks I fucking did it… she thinks I fucking hurt Lij. Dominic gathered Elijah more tightly to him, and then looked out to sea.

Dominic gathered Elijah more tightly to him, and then looked out to sea.

it's great to see a new character again, Danae. especially because she's a woman. i wonder what'll be going on between her and the guys. from what i've read, she seems to be a nice woman and it's too bad that dominic doesn't like her that much. and that last line. what the..???? where did he get that from?! or am i trusting a person i shouldn't?
love this update! can't wait to see the next :D
