"Board got me good this morning." Dom clutches a shirt with one hand, his side with the other. "Accident," he winces.

"Not into self-abuse, then?" Billy quips, insides warm enough to abandon his Scotch and walk over to the bed where Dom is half-pouting and positioning himself on the duvet like the wounded. "Let me..."

"No. Here." Dom guides unrehearsed fingers over point crests and plains, past sun-fashioned ruddiness into white.

Billy fails to find a bruise, can't give Dom a reaction to black and blue, but knows there's another accident to happen, unless Dom rises to meet him halfway.

V. nice drabble! I think this is just beautifully phrased:
