manip: The Calm Before the Storm (Viggo/Bean, PG)
title: The Calm Before the Storm
artist (haha):
stormatdusk
pairing: Viggo/Bean (Nikolai/Bean)
rating: PG (nudity, but the bits are covered)
disclaimer: this is a manipulated photo; it's not real.
a/n: the way cronenberg filmed viggo lounging on the red banquette while the tattoo artist is working really stuck with me; it's one of the most visually stunning shots i can remember in any film. still, i wanted to see it without Mr. Tattoo Guy. i spent a lot (i mean, a lot - meep!) of time and love on this, and despite its many flaws, i'm pretty excited about how it turned out.

i've posted the two sources photos at my LJ; i'll leave it unlocked for a few days.
i'm really happy with how rebuilding the wall and the plants worked out. my favorite chore was removing the electrical wires from viggo's belly and hand and hip *g*. rebuilding the banquette 'behind' sean was really tough (most of it was done pixel by pixel, though i know there have got to be better ways!), and i know sean's coloring/shading is still off. i need to learn more about what tools are available in photoshop before i attempt another large project like this. still, i'm hooked; this is so much fun! :)
