I've made it to the end of part 4 and am getting more and more comfortable with the terminology and the "Pern" universe, not having been introduced to it before.
I think I'm hooked! Your Sea'n is still very much like the Safety Hobbit Astin with his attention to the safety harnesses. That made me smile. And describing Elijah as "he is only Elijah" is lovely. I like S'ttan as well. So sad. He looks like David Tennant, you say? Lovely picture, that. :)
