Date With An Angel 5/5 Viggo/Orli, Elijah/Dom
I wasn't going to post this until Saturday but....here you go.
Also, I would like to thank hobbit_eluned for the following manip banner for the last part of my story. Thank you to Starlit_woods for the two other manips of Elijah as an angel. I won't say too much, but Saura and Slip both hinted that this story needed some more of Angel Elijah and Dom moments....and I am working on a little something that may delight you. I shall say no more.
Also, I would like to thank Saura and Slip for beta reading this story and making an okay story great! Without you, this story would never have seen the light of day. LOL.
On with the story.

Date with an Angel
By Summer
Class: Slash
Beta’d by Saura and Slip
Writer’s note: This is based and inspired by the movie, ‘Date with an Angel.’ Also, I am in no way trying to demean any characters portrayed in my story. (Especially Evi). It is just a story folks. Not real, not meant to be taken too seriously. Oh and yes, the word --God, heaven, and Angel is mentioned a lot. IF you are offended by that, then move on.
Pairing: Dom/Elijah, Orli/Viggo
5/5
Rating: NC-17
5
Dominic watched the archangel, the one he knew as Orlando, brush past him and enter Karl Urban’s mansion. For a moment, he felt tense and afraid but then Dom’s concern for his angel, Elijah helped him to overcome his fears and he followed.
He was just entering the house when a bright light seemed to appear from nowhere and Dominic found himself unable to move. Then an unfamiliar voice spoke to him, “Stay, Dominic.” The voice was strong and male and though Dom didn't know who had spoken, the tone demanded obedience. Swallowing hard, Dominic obeyed staying right where he was.

Elijah could only glare at the evil human as he was immobile, still held prisoner against the wall. Karl had stripped to the waist and was now touching the angel most provokingly on his chest, making circles with his finger around his nipples. Then those hands moved on to different areas, always followed by his tongue, pausing to lick here or there on Elijah’s corporeal form. The angel was neither impressed, nor aroused by any of these actions.
If anything, Elijah could feel only rage at the indignity and the lack of respect in this assault. He turned his head away, closed his eyes, shuddering and began to keen an unearthly cry at this violation.
Suddenly, Elijah knew without a doubt that a familiar being was coming to his rescue. No, not just one, but two strong energies, were here. This Karl was about to pay the supreme penalty for daring to sully one of the Almighty’s special creatures.
Karl moved his head upward licking and kissing the golden unblemished neck. The angel tasted wonderfully clean and cool like a breath of fresh air. Karl’s erection was rock hard, but he was not going to rush this. He was going to take his time and savor the moment. Afterwards he would… well, what ever came afterwards would come.
A tremendous thud from behind caused him to freeze in place. A blaze of bright sunlight entered the room causing a thrill of fear to shoot through him. His hair stood on end, turning Karl gasped at the sight of not one, but two strongly muscled male figures standing aglow in the now open doorway.
Like Elijah, they had wings, only their feathers were made of gold and silver. And where Elijah was soft and beautiful with a shimmering fragile quality, these two forms were built as vengeful warriors… shining avenging angels. They glowed fierce with purpose, great golden swords held ready in their hands.
Karl knew without a doubt that his time had run out. And yet, he could only smile. Three angels. Just for him. Karl Urban felt privileged. Even in the face of judgment he felt no remorse, only a dark unnamable thrill, deep in his gut. And Elijah was shocked at the depth of this human’s capacity for depravity.
***
Dominic was tired of waiting. He wanted to get to Elijah, to his angel and make sure that he was okay. Anything could be happening to Elijah and that worry caused Dom to move forward. With a broken wing, his angel was completely helpless and would need him.
But then screams filled his ears, and a roaring sound followed and then even more unholy screaming. It was deafening and Dominic covered his ears in total despair.
‘What was happening to Elijah!?’
The new found love he held for the angel rose inside of him and he darted forward despite the fearful din. Come what may, he was going to save Elijah.
Dom entered the room, or rather what was left of it and came to a dead stop. The walls were almost black and a smell of something burning, the sickening sweet smell of which could only be burnt human flesh, filled his nostrils.
In the middle of the room smoked an ominous dark oily stain. Karl? After looking frantically around, Dom swallowed with difficulty when he finally saw Elijah lying on the ground. Someone was with him. It was not Orlando but another angel, with golden wings and had light brown hair. He lifted Elijah into his arms and seemed to be speaking to him softly, almost lovingly, in a language Dom did not understand.
The new angel removed the bandage and touched Elijah’s broken wing. At once the broken section mended and with the healing the light that surrounded Elijah seemed to become a deeper and more penetrating hue.
With his head now throbbing painfully, Dom wasn’t exactly sure what he should do now. He had hoped to rescue Elijah and instead he seemed to just be in the way. Should he leave? What good was he anyway? He had let this happen to Elijah, that stain was supposed to be his brother in law… this was all his fault, he thought mournfully. He really was as worthless as Evi had said he was.
The angel rose to his feet, helping Elijah also to stand. Turning to Dominic, the stranger smiled at Dom and beckoned him forward all the while shaking his head seemingly as if he was dismissing the negative thoughts in Dom’s head.
“You risked everything, to save a life,” supplied the angel, Sean, he did not know. “You are worthy of God’s grace.”
Then just like that, the other angel was gone and only Elijah stood in the room. Dom slowly took several steps forward, then stopped again. Fear overtook him. What was happening? He just didn’t understand anything anymore.
“My brave Dominic,” Elijah stated solemnly and the angel took those last few steps to place his arms around him. A second later, Elijah’s lips were touching his.
All thought ceased, and Dominic became lost in the sensations coming from Elijah. He actually spoke to him. Once again Dominic could feel how loved he truly was. Then he felt a needle sharp pain in his head and he passed out.
***
“Vig. Viggo---it’s me. Orli. I’m here.”
Viggo heard a familiar voice calling to him and coming out from the darkness Viggo opened his eyes to see Orlando was with him, holding him. How did he come to be here? Did Karl--
“Karl--is no more, Viggo. It is over.”
“The boy--that angel…” Viggo found it hard to speak; the taste of warm copper filled his mouth, he was also cold. So very cold.
“He is fine. Elijah is fine. You were so brave, my dearest. To give your life to save another an act of giving unparalleled, where I come from.”
Blinking, Viggo thought he saw golden wings fluttering behind Orlando.
“What--?”
“You said it once, Viggo…I am an angel, an archangel to be precise. I was sent to bring you home.”
Not understanding, Viggo raised his hand and touched Orli’s cheek. It felt so soft. Was he hallucinating? Angels don’t exist.
“Angels do exist, Vig. We have many different types of angels who do many different types of jobs. There are choirs of angels, cherubs and rescue teams of angels, messengers for the lost and guardians to bring His chosen home. I am, a specialized unit, an archangel. We are sent to guard and to protect souls from the forces of evil.”
Viggo blinked again. He had to be dreaming.
“Something happened---Viggo. I cannot explain it fully, however let’s just say that whether or not you had tried to rescue that boy you saw--Karl was going to kill you this day. The One that sent me knew this, and wanted you to feel real love before calling you home. Only, He does not always tell us how much time we have, and I botched it, Viggo. You are still in doubt and your faith is broken. I was supposed to repair your faith. But I needed more time. I am so sorry I failed you. I promise you, that after this moment you will never again know sadness and loneliness. Trust me, believe in me.”
Viggo smiled. He didn’t care if he was hallucinating or dreaming, all he knew was that he was loved. Orli was here with him in his last few moments and that was all he needed.
Is this the end?
Orlando pressed his lips upon Viggo’s and a voice filled the human’s mind. “No Viggo, this is not the end. Only a new beginning” With tears forming in his eyes, Orlando folded his wings around the human’s body and continued to hold and tenderly caress the man in his arms.
‘Not the end’, wondered Viggo. And the darkness faded away and he could see light, and felt a warmth flooding throughout his body--surrounding him, entering him, filling him and as he took his last breath he felt truly at peace.
Orlando continued to hold the body even though the transition was complete. Searching the heavens, tears fell from his eyes; another human’s life had ended. But, somewhere out there he also knew another life would be born.
So short, a flare of life so brief, so bright…!
***
The sound of a stream and birds chirping filled his ears. Taking in a deep breath, the smell of lilacs and roses filled his senses. Viggo opened his eyes slowly and saw two familiar piercing brown eyes staring down at him. Everything felt so peaceful and beautiful…especially with this one staring down at him.
He reached up and touched Orlando’s cheek with his fingers. “Orli? Where?”
A small smile came to the young man’s eyes and Viggo felt a thrill run through him.
Was he dead now?
“We are in a special place. A place where you will never again feel pain or sadness…despair.”
Viggo looked all around him and saw that he was no longer in Karl’s basement. Around him were woods and… a waterfall. This place reminded him of his special retreat, the place he had shared with Orli. And yet, it all seemed even more colorful and vivid to his eyes. More real, if that were possible…
“It is possible, you are in Paradise, Viggo.”
Laughing, Viggo sat up slowly, his hand absently touching his head. Nothing, no blood… he felt no pain at all. Funny, he could still feel his fingers, they felt human still and he studied them closely… they didn’t appear to be ghastly white like a gh--
“That is in books, movies and all people’s vivid imaginations, love. This is heaven.”
Viggo stared at Orlando. He could see his wings now, fluttering ever so gently. His hand reached out and touched them reverently. They felt so soft and silky that a thought came to him then, and he wished he had wings.
“That is good, because I have been having a discussion with my superior and he has made a suggestion…that is if you would be willing to take it on... not right now, of course… but later.”
Viggo was still trying to lock in the fact that he was no longer living and was indeed in Paradise, with a winged angel at his side, when a small form standing hesitantly a few feet away caught his attention.
A familiar form.
“Daddy!”
“HENRY!”
Viggo rose to his feet and gleefully met the small boy running headlong into his out-flung arms. Moments later, Viggo was twirling the little boy around in circles, both of them whooping and laughing.
Orlando watched them and smiled beatifically. Sean appeared at his side, with a small echoing smile also on his lips, “So, Orli did you speak to him about our proposal?”
“Not yet, but I have a feeling that he will be most amicable to take up the job offer.”
Sean grinned, slapping his hands together. “So, who do we bet will get the task of breaking him into the role of our newest archangel?”
Orlando at once wrapped his arms around Sean’s chest and put his best pout on his lips.
“Fine, spoilsport he’s yours to train.”
Hugging the larger angel and then lowering his arms to his sides, Orlando headed over to Viggo and Henry. Upon reaching them, Viggo smiled brightly up at Orlando and pointed to Henry with delight.
“This is my son, Henry. Henry, this is Orli…a very special…friend of mine.”
Both Orlando and Henry laughed, shaking there heads.
“Dad, we already met. Orli was the one that took me to heaven when I drowned.”
The double take on Viggo’s face was priceless and Orlando kissed his love on the cheek. “No child, is allowed to leave the earth without a personal escort. Now, I will leave you alone to get reacquainted. See you later.”
Noting the worry in Viggo’s eyes, he repeated himself. “I will see you later, I promise. I just need to pop in to see an old friend.”
And with a parting hug the archangel disappeared leaving the father and son to their joy filled reunion.

He felt something soft underneath him. He was on cushions,--a sofa. Opening his eyes, Dominic realized he was no longer at Karl’s mansion. He was home. How did he get here?
Dominic turned to his left and saw a vision of beauty looking down at him.
“Some hero I turned out to be.” Dom muttered almost bitterly.
Gentle hands touched his cheeks.
“Well, I am only good old Dom? Good? What mortal good am I to anyone?”
Again the angel looked down at him, his eyes narrowed. If Dom could believe it, Elijah looked almost sorrowful.
“I’m dying aren’t I? I can feel it…”
Everything seemed to be getting dark, his head was throbbing with pain and…Elijah seemed to be further away.
“Who is going to look after my mom? What about Billy? Billy--he can’t take care of himself, he never has been able to, gets himself into the most terrible messes… ”
Dom shook his head painfully, as he began to fight for breath. He was having so much trouble breathing. It was hardly worth the effort. What was happening to him? Was this death.
Dom reached for Elijah and the angel was there to take hold of his cold hands. “I’m frightened--”
The sound of a car engine was heard from outside. Elijah knew immediately that this human was of no danger to Dom. Letting go of Dom’s hands Elijah took several steps away from him.
“No… no don’t leave me, please. Please don’t leave me.”
Moments later, the door to the house opened and a man about the same age as Dominic, entered the house.
“Dom! Thank God. I tried calling you, but you didn’t…” As Billy got closer to Dom, he gasped and came to a sudden stop. Dominic didn’t look well, he was pale and seemed to be having a difficult time breathing. “Mate! Are you okay? Buddy!”
Bending down to his friend, Billy checked Dom’s pulse and realized it was too fast. “Dom! Dommie, can ye hear me?” Billy patted his cheek trying to get Dom’s attention, but the other man was looking over his shoulder and seemed to be trying to speak to someone else. But he couldn’t make a sound.
“Hang on buddy. I’ll call an ambulance.”
“Don’t leave me!” Dom finally managed to cry out reaching toward Elijah with his hand.
Billy mistakenly thought Dom was calling to him. “It’s okay, man. I won’t leave you.” Grabbing the phone, Billy dialed 911.
Elijah stood silently in the corner. His eyes filled with regret and sadness. When he had been given this assignment he had truly no idea what the mission entailed. He had never met a human before and though Sean had tried to be very thorough in his explanation, the reality just was not what Elijah had expected.
Humans can be greedy, vain and even evil as he realized when he met up with Karl Urban. But they can also be warm, friendly, kind and sweet…like Dom. He was special in a way that made him stand out from the crowd. Dom was unique and beautiful in Elijah‘s eyes.
Elijah closed his eyes and realized that he had done what was forbidden. He had allowed himself to get emotionally involved with his mission. Yes, he was supposed to be loving and gentle and kind to the one he was sent to collect, but he was not suppose to get attached emotionally to them.
That was forbidden. There were rules. And he had broken one, a rule with terrible consequences. The angel had made a mistake. He had fallen in love.
After Dom’s life-force came to an end here on earth he would go to Paradise. As for himself, Elijah had a job for all eternity.
Elijah could not think he could learn to bear this parting…and what it truly meant.
Elijah’s eyes flew open as he heard the sound of a siren closing in from the distance, Dominic’s time was up and Elijah felt his very essence splinter and shatter into pieces.
After today, they would never see each other again.
***
The room was too sterile and too quiet. Billy sat down at the edge of the bed and looked at Dom’s unmoving form. Dominic appeared to be hooked up to every machine and wire in the place. Shaking his head, Billy felt the tears come to his eyes. He had just lost Sharon and now he was going to lose his best friend. It wasn’t fair.
Sobs caught in his throat and Billy reached for Dom’s hand. It felt cold.
Dominic’s mother hadn’t stayed long. The doctor had been blunt and to the point.
“Your son is dying. He has a very advanced malignant tumor over the left lobe of his brain…has he not been complaining about having headaches, blurred vision?”
Dom’s mother stayed only long enough to make some last arrangements with the hospital staff and then was gone. She wouldn’t stay to keep Dom company, she would not be with her son even in these last few precious hours.
Typical. Billy knew he should not be so judgmental, but he wasn't surprised that after the hell of a life Dom's mother had submitted her son to. The fact that she only hung around long enough to make the funeral arrangements and then left, flew all over his nerves. In fact, after all the things she had not done for Dom when he was naught but a kid, he couldn’t help but despise the woman. He had known Mrs. Monaghan for many years and the woman was centered on one thing in this life and that was herself and her pleasures.
Billy was determined to stay right here beside his dearest friend‘s hospital bed. He wasn’t going to be removed. He wasn’t going to leave Dom to die alone. He would be here for Dom.
A clicking sounded loud in the sick room and Billy turned to see a young man enter the room. He was dressed in white, wearing a badge that read, RN Elijah Wood.
“Excuse me, sir may I have a moment alone with my patient.”
Billy was about to argue and then nodded wearily. “I’ll go get some coffee. I could use the caffeine.”
As he went to leave, the young man took Billy’s hand and softly held it gently, “You must be Billy Boyd? You were the one that found him in his home and brought him here to the hospital?”
Surprised that this stranger knew who he was, Billy nodded numbly. “Yes, I was just stopping by his house and…”
“Dominic asked about you. I’m glad you’re here. He will need you.”
Billy lowered his head and nodded. “I’ll be back in a bit mate.” Billy petted his unconscious friend on the shoulder with tears in his eyes, he left the room.
***
Elijah pressed his hand on Dominic’s chest and then gently caressed his face. Blue-grey eyes opened however they seemed heavy and adrift from the effort.
“Lija…Angel,” he muttered softly, his hand reaching for the vision before him.
Elijah smiled at Dom, allowing his true form to appear at last. Tears fell from Dominic’s eyes, if he had thought he had seen Elijah before, he had been wrong. Now the angel was even more wondrous. A warm light emanated from Elijah and bathed the entire room with a golden glow. Dom stared at a vision of beauty that was certainly not of this earth. For the second time, Elijah spoke clearly, in English and Dom never heard a more beautiful voice.
“I was sent to collect you that night--when I-- fell in the pool and broke my wing. I lost some of my powers because of the fall and I could not complete--my task. Forgive me, Dominic for causing you so much more suffering and pain. I am an angel who is sent to end suffering and bring souls home to the Lord and I – failed you.”
Dominic shook his head, but Elijah gently brushed his fingertips over Dom’s lips to silence him. He smiled sadly. “I am so sorry.”
Tears filled Elijah’s eyes then and rolled unheeded down his cheeks. Dom gasped. He shook his head trying his best to reach for Elijah to comfort him. But Elijah pulled away and continued to speak, “I must tell you something else and I don’t know how you are going to react… I… I… I didn't plan on falling in love with you! My mission was just to bring you home! I don‘t know exactly when it happened--but I knew when you risked your own safety to rescue me, that I was at risk. I was in love.”
Angels can cry? And yet, Dom was not completely surprised by this revelation as he watched Elijah‘s tears continue to fall. And they can fall in love? With a human? With him? That filled Dom with a sense of amazement. Elijah had fallen in love with him!
“Elijah! I love you, too.” He replied firmly over his pain then he beamed at the angel, “I do!”
Elijah smiled at this declaration and moving carefully, he climbed onto the bed to hold Dominic in his arms. “Dom, I have to take you home, now. It is your time. Are you ready?”
A part of Dom only wanted the pain to end, and yet another part of him paused to think of his old life. “Who is going to look after Billy?” He asked anxious to know the answer. "I-- I have always taken care of him. Who is going to do it now?" Then other thoughts came into his mind, visions, regrets. ‘What about all my dreams, my hopes? What about all the life I wanted to live….I’m only 23. I want to live.’
Elijah could feel sadness and regret overcome Dom and he shook his head, knowing that his delay had completely ruined everything for this good man. Before his failure, Dom wouldn’t have had time to think about the life he would be leaving. He would have just been living one second and then gone the next. This was all wrong.
"I promise you Billy would be well cared for." Elijah tried to smile reassuringly, and it seemed to calm down Dom's worried thoughts, because the human smiled tenderly.
Dom paused for a moment and then smiled "Good. Then we would be together for ever without me worrying about him; because we would be together for ever Elijah, won't we?" Dom looked at the angel hopefully.
Too short of time…too short…
Elijah choked a sob at Dominic’s words, how could he explain to Dom that after this day, they would never see each other again. Dom would be in Paradise and Elijah…he would be busy with more assignments…more cases… more souls to bring home.
Elijah raised his face to the skies and let the tears fall. Pulling Dominic closer in his arms, he allowed his wings to start to fold around the human form, his lips pressing gently down on Dom’s. The bright light grew and Dominic felt completely at peace and so very loved and his thoughts of Billy and his lost dreams and his too short life began to fade. He would be with Elijah and that was all that mattered to Dom.
And as the light grew even stronger and Dominic’s heart began to slow, the machines began to bleep franticly. When the kiss was broken, Elijah only shook his head in anguish and the tears continued to fall as he stared up to the heavens. Hope against hope. They would be separated after this…never to see each other again. Alone, he let out a grief stricken cry and then---darkness folded in over them.
And as all hope faded and Elijah wept, another beautiful glowing form entered the room. Orlando stepped forward, with tears in his own eyes, and he reached for Elijah and Dominic.
***
Billy returned with his coffee and was halfway in the room when he realized that Dominic was alone. And the machines were silent. No bleeping noise. Nothing. Eerie silence.
Fear overtook him and with a small cry, Billy ran to the bed. He couldn’t tell if Dom was breathing or not. “Dom! Dom!” Throwing himself over the unmoving form, Billy blindly felt the grief hit him in wave after wave. This can’t be happening. “No! No! Don’t go! Don‘t die!” Don’t leave me!
It was too late. Dom was gone.
A gentle hand touched him, and Billy looked up, but refused to release his friend. ‘How could he have left his friend at this time? Dom had died alone, with no…’ Billy looked up grief stricken to see that same nurse looking down at him.
A smile was on his lips. Billy never noticed before how blue the nurse’s eyes were, so penetrating.
“He’s not dead.”
Not what? Billy looked back at Dom and saw his friend looking at him with the same smile as the nurse’s.
“Dom?”
“What's the matter with you? Yellin’ that I am dead! Can’t a guy get any sleep around here?”
Billy’s despair turned to joy and he looked from Elijah and then back to Dom in shock.
“He’s going to be just fine,” replied Elijah in a reassuring voice. Billy looked to Elijah in confusion. “I promise; he has a lot more living to do. I have that---on the highest authority. Now, go home and get some rest, Billy. I’ll have Dom call you tomorrow. You need to rest now, too.”
The angel and Dom embraced each other after Billy was gone. Though Dom felt completely happy at this change of events, he couldn’t help but be almost as confused as Billy by his circumstances.
“Are you sure you want to do this?”
Elijah only grinned and kissed Dom’s lips gently. “Forty years won’t be nearly long enough.”
“But even then, there will be after… we will have all of Heaven and forever,” said Dom.
Elijah nodded with a small smile on his lips. Orlando had enjoyed telling him that the creator had given Dom a reprieve and that they would not be separated. Even after life. Dominic’s self sacrifice and Elijah’s love for humanity even in the face of evil had turned the tables.
Rules had been broken and rules had been bent; a day declared for miracles. Elijah was mortal now, flesh and blood; granted forty years of being human. And then, as all flesh dies to dust, he and Dom would be raised to the heavens were they would be together in Paradise.
No more risk of botched assignments for the angel Elijah: just love and eternity.
“Forever, as I said, Dominic and I have that on the Highest Authority.”

“DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!”
Screaming in her madness, she pulled savagely at her hair. The car was dead in the ditch with two blown tires and she had been stuck out here in the middle of nowhere for the past six hours with no car coming by at all to help.
She threw her cell phone on the ground. It hadn’t picked up a signal either in all this time.
Throwing herself on the ground, Evi began to sob bitterly. The tears fell down her cheeks and she finally allowed all the pain and sadness hit her.
How could Dom do this to me? I loved him, I loved him! She covered her face with her hands and Evi sobbed her pain and misery to the darkness around her. She was all alone now, all alone.
“Oh God, please! Please….” She continued to sob.
A loud honk caused Evi to look up and she saw in surprise a pick up truck pull up beside her. A bit frightened, she got to her feet and then relaxed when out of the truck stepped a woman in overalls. She had long black hair and matching eyes.
“Hey you, need some help.”
Evi nodded and held out her hand. “I’m so glad, I haven’t seen anyone for hours and my cell phone hasn’t been working. My Name is Evi Urban.”
“Well howdy, Evi. My names Liv…why don’t you hop in the truck and I’ll get you to the nearest gas station.”
As Evi grabbed her purse and got into the truck, her thoughts about Dom faded away and she smiled at the young girl driving the truck. She was beautiful.
“You're a godsend. Thanks Liv.”
The woman smiled and nodded. “More than you know girlfriend, more than you know. Hey, you wouldn’t happen to have any chocolate on you would you?”

Epilogue
Two weeks later
72 degrees, sunny with not a cloud in the sky, Dominic laughed rejoicing in the perfect day on God’s green Earth. Two men lounged outside on the terrace enjoying the beautiful new day. The open-air café behind them had just opened and already people were coming in to get an early lunch.
Dom and Billy stared in shock as Elijah arrived, weaving through the collection of street-side tables bearing a tray filled with nothing but an assortment of chocolate in one hand and three bottles of water in the other. He placed the decadent tray in front of them with a flourish.
Then sitting down at the table with them, Elijah smiled announcing, “Chocolate is Heaven on Earth.”
As Elijah popped his first piece of chocolate into his mouth, he took hold of Dominic’s hand. Dom sighed happily as Elijah then laid his head on his boyfriend’s shoulder. Seeing that the lovebirds had eyes only for each other, Billy decided to give them a few moments alone and went to get a newspaper.
Dom sneakily reached for one of Elijah’s chocolates and tried take a bite, only for Elijah to grab it and throw the piece of candy into his own mouth instead. Dominic laughed as he then saw two mischievous blue eyes blink up at him trying to look innocent.
When Dom had fallen in love with an angel, he had thought he was at the end of his life. Now every day he found his love growing for Elijah and every aspect of his life was an ever-changing adventure. Every day now seemed to Dom to take on added value, and with Elijah everything about their life was new and fascinating. And Dom marveled at his existence while sitting at a street corner café with Elijah by his side and his new life stretched out before him.
It was then that Elijah brought Dom out of his thoughts. The beautiful young man made a sound in his throat that could only be considered a contented purr as he happily licked melted chocolate off his fingers. As far as Dom was concerned his life was now perfect. He had found his angel on earth. Dom turned his head slightly and discovered chocolate sweet lips ready to be kissed.
***
The newspaper stand was located just outside the café. Billy picked up the newspaper and glanced at the headlines. It seemed that Karl Urban’s mysterious disappearance along with his sister was still the hot topic and the finding of famous artist Viggo Mortensen’s lifeless body in his mansion made the missing multi-millionaires the number one suspects in his death. Billy had the strange feeling that Karl would never be found.
Slowly making his way back inside the café to hook up with his friends, Billy paused to look at them from a few feet away. The two sat together holding each other, laughing and seemingly to drink each other in. Together they looked perfect, several female patrons watching their antics smiled and giggled. The women obviously thought Dom and Elijah were a cute couple. And they were.
Billy was happy for his buddy Dom. Elijah was really very sweet and friendly, perfection really, for Dom and the two of them a most compatible pairing if he ever saw one. They certainly looked as if their love life was complete.
In some small way, Billy couldn’t help but feel like the third wheel, though. Not that Dom ever ignored him these days, he was always included in their activities. Dom dropped by to visit with him on weekends and called him nearly every night. Still, Dom and Elijah’s blissful state reminded him of his marriage and then his loss, and it pressed down upon him how much he missed Sharon.
And he was lonely.
In the middle of that thought, as Billy folded the newspaper, he felt someone bump into him. Off balance, Billy fell to the floor with someone landing right on top of him, knocking him breathless. When Billy managed to turn on to his back and look up, he saw two beautiful green eyes peering through a tangle of red hair staring down at him. He was completely blown away at the beautiful sight. When he finally managed to take a deep breath, he choked at the smell of roses and lilacs momentarily overwhelming his senses.
***
From the corner, where he was waiting for the street light to change, Orlando grinned as he observed Elijah and Dom at the cafe. But his smile turned to a frown when he caught Miranda's bump and Billy's fall.
He clutched his hair dramatically, pulling at his curls with a groan and a sigh and a shake of his head. 'St. Peter's Pearls! First Elijah and now Miranda! Who has the patience to deal with amateurs?'
***
“Oh, sorry---I am so clumsy,” declared a sweet voice that sounded very Australian to Billy’s ears. Getting to his feet and coughing, he helped the woman to stand as well, he blinked, completely stunned at the vision before him. “I was waiting for a friend, Orli is always late. By the way, my name is Miranda. What’s your name, darling? Are you OK?”
“Yes.” Billy caught his breath then smiled. “My name is Billy--Billy Boyd.”
“Oh, that’s a nice name. Would you like—well… Billy, could I make this inelegant meeting up to you and buy you a cup of coffee?”
Billy grinned foolishly, completely dumbstruck, she looked just like an…
And then the angel smiled.
The end.

The end.
