Something Different 2/10
Title: Something Different
Chapter Title: Not Fooling Around (2/10)
Author:
vestalvagrant
Pairings: DM/OB
Rating: This chapter PG13
Summary: Something nice and a little different becomes rather unpleasant.
Beta: You wish.
Notes: I’m sure you know about RPS. I don’t know what the sexual preferences of these people are, as I’ve never met them, and if I did I’d probably just jump them without waiting to find out.

Dom waited for Orli to finish his sentence. Or to kiss him again, that had been good.
Not receiving a response, Orli had to continue. “Fuck, you’re really going to hate me.”
Dom waited patiently.
“Don’t you want to know why?” Orli demanded eventually.
“Okay. Why will I hate you?”
Orli sucked in his cheeks and looked up at the sky. Dom randomly thought that a good actor should be less melodramatic. “I’m the one who broke Lij’s heart, not Liv. I told him I was interested in someone else.”
“Hang on, what? Lij liked you? What are you talking about?”
Orli looked back at Dom. “I saw it coming for a couple weeks, I was trying subtle ways of putting him off but he just didn’t get the message. He had no idea that I wasn’t into him too. God, I feel awful...”
Dom realised his mouth was hanging open and he quickly shut it. Oh fuck, he’d just pashed the guy his best friend and housemate was in love with. He was going to hell, straight to hell.
“Dom, do you hate me? For hurting Elijah?”
Oh yeah, Orlando. Should respond. “Oh, mate, this kind of shit happens in life. I mean, you didn’t mean to hurt him, like you said, you tried not to.”
“Because I like someone else,” Orli said.
“The poor kid,” Dom mumbled, wondering how Lij would feel if he ever found out Dom had kissed the guy who rejected him.
“Dom?” Orlando had moved closer again, was pressing the bridge of his nose against Dom’s cheekbone.
Dom absent-mindedly put an arm around Orlando’s shoulder. Orlando must be feeling as shitty as he did right that moment. He felt Orlando’s fingers creep around his waist and then his lips press against Dom’s jawline.
Damn, what had he been thinking about? Was it something important? Dom let whatever it was slip away as Orli placed butterfly kisses down his neck to his collar.
“So you don’t hate me?”
What? Fuck. “Fuck! Stop, Orli, stop it!”
Orli raised his head to look into Dom’s eyes. “You do hate me.”
“Fuck, Orli, this isn’t just about you! Do you think I’d go behind Lij’s back like this? He’s my best mate, I’m not going to fool around with the person he’s in love with!”
Orlando had completely pulled away from Dom. “Fool around? Fine. Fuck. I don’t want you to fool around with me either, Dom. No wonder you couldn’t see what was going on with Lij. You’re the least observant person I’ve ever met.”
“What are you talking about?”
They glared each other, both silent and both angry. After an indeterminable length of time Dom heard Liv calling their names, and he turned and waved to where she stood across the street.
“You guys ready to call it a night?” she asked when she reached them.
“Yeah. Evening’s over. I’ll go find a cab.” Orli turned and walked away, arms crossed and fists in his armpits.
Liv draped an arm around Dom’s shoulder and leaned her head against his. “Have a nice night?”
“It was something different,” he replied.

AN: Oo, so the scene is set. Will I skip to the next day? Or will something worth mentioning happen in the cab ride home? Stay tuned!
