Summary: Staying up all night to watch an important baseball game on your birthday may not be a good idea for a die-hard Mets fan.
Notes: I'm going to have to ask you all to trust me on this one, in spite of the title. Yes there's some baseball stuff in it--after all, I came up with the idea for this fic while listening to the game last night--but really, it's a fic about Viggo, his new puppy Firme, his birthday and his lover. One of the things that I notice rarely gets mentioned in Viggo/Bean fic, or Lotrips in general, is that Viggo is a major sports fan. He fairly avidly supports the Habs (Montreal Canadiens--hockey), San Lorenzo (Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro--football/soccer) and the Mets (New York Mets--baseball), to the point of linking to their sites from Perceval Press. I wanted to play with that side of him, along with the RL facts of the moment: he's got a new puppy, he's in Rome and it's his 48th birthday.
