Response to the following: Billy/Dom: Billy visits Dom in Hawaii, either first time or first after a break-up. [Request by [livejournal.com profile] jenish]

Dom muttered under his breath as yet another tourist pulled out in front of him, insisting on driving at the manky speed limit. He’d finished shooting early. Now, if he could just get through this bloody traffic and get to his board before the sun disappeared, he could have a brilliant time communing with the ocean, even if it was separating him from the man he most wanted to see.

Billy had yet again cancelled a planned visit to Hawaii due to a film or perhaps a play or some such thing. In truth, it was starting to wash over Dom along with the litany of other reasons why Billy could never seem to bring himself to visit him. A jolt of loneliness hit him in the belly with a force that jarred him out of his brooding and he pulled over to park. “Lonely, am I? In the middle of an island full of people? Belt up, Monaghan!”

He walked into Lanikai Juice and ordered a large Da Kine to go. He enjoyed living in Kailua. It was certainly a nice change from LA and an even nicer one from the often-gloomy streets of Manchester. It was nothing like Scotland, of course. Dom shook his head. “Glasgow,” he muttered. “He has to stay in Scotland and he chooses bloody Glasgow. Why not bloody Edinburgh? At least it’s beautiful.” He smiled. “But then, Edinburgh doesn’t have a statue of Wellington with a traffic cone on his head.” Dom laughed out loud as he walked on the beach, making some smile and others (mostly tourists) grab their children and yank them away.

When the mid-afternoon crowd began to thin out a bit, he made his way back to his car, finishing up his juice and tossing the cup in a litter bin along the way. A motion caught at the corner of his eye and he felt a prickle at the back of his neck. He fixed his eyes on the army-green shirt and brown corduroys walking away from him and launched himself towards them at full throttle. “I thought you were supposed to be in a play,” he said near a familiar ear.

The owner of that ear wheeled around with a huge smile. “Surprise!”

Dom threw his arms around Billy, grinning as they hugged the stuffing out of each other. “I can’t believe you’re here!” He pulled back, holding Billy at forearm’s length and looking at him. “Are you sure you’re you? I mean, what happened to the play?”

“It’s me, Dommie,” laughed Billy. “And the play didn’t work out,” he added, a bit of a grimace on his face. “Director had a nervous breakdown.”

“You drove him mad, didn’t you? Oh, Billy, I’m so proud of you!” Dom hugged Billy ostentatiously.

“Wanker,” laughed Billy, hugging Dom back.

“Where are you staying?” asked Dom, pulling away again.

“With you, I hope,” said Billy. “Only, you’re not there right now, so I can’t ask you, can I? So I thought I’d wander about for a bit.”

“What did you do with your bags?”

“I left them on your porch... deck... thing.”

“Lanai,” laughed Dom. “So you don’t have a car, then?”

“No, I had the driver wait for me till I found out you weren’t there and then drop me in town. Thought I’d do a little beachcombing, but I didn’t think I’d be combing you up!”

Dom squished Billy close again. “Never been so glad to be combed in all me life,” he grinned. “Now let’s go rescue your stuff from the lizards.”

“Lizards?”

They got stuck behind tourists again, but the ride seemed all too short. (Dom would later blame Billy’s nattering for distracting him as he pulled out into traffic, narrowly avoiding a serious accident. Billy would deny all knowledge of any such incident.)

Three evicted lizards and a two-hour nap later, Billy stumbled from the guest room, drawn (via Dom’s plan) by the aroma of Thai takeaway. Eyes half shuttered, he came nose first to the plate Dom held loaded with Billy’s favourite foods. Dom chuckled and guided him to the table. “Fork at nine o’clock, knife at three, water at two...”

“Wanker,” mumbled Billy around his bite. “Oh, this is very good!”

“Best on the island,” grinned Dom.

“And you’d know, of course, having eaten at every single Thai restaurant on Oahu,” said Billy.

“Well, yes,” said Dom, guilelessly. “Wanted to make sure you’d be happy if you ever came to visit me.”

Billy swallowed. “And of course the fact that you love Thai food almost as much as I do and need to eat every three hours had nothing, whatsoever to do with it,” he snorted.

“No. Nothing at all.” Dom forced a smile and addressed his food.

“You really ate your way around the island, just for me?”

“Well, only the Thai places,” said Dom. “The others I wasn’t thinking of you at all. Turned my stomach too much.”

Billy raised his glass toward Dom, signalling the joining of hostilities as he drank. Dom grinned and returned the gesture. They finished their meal in a delicious round of retaliation and escalation.

An hour later, Billy was standing on the Lanai, gazing out on a moonlit sea.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?” said Dom, joining him.

“It is, yeah,” said Billy, leaning on the rail. “It’s nice to have a cheap place to stay when I’m in Hawaii.”

“Which fortunately is very rare...”

Billy snorted. “Well, move the island about ten thousand miles closer to Glasgow, and I might show up now and then, yeah?”

“Come round for tea and guava juice?”

“You’re going to lose your citizenship for that,” said Billy, patting Dom’s shoulder. His hand lingered a moment before he turned back toward the ocean. “It’s amazing, isn’t it?” Billy’s voice was soft, lilting as he gazed out to sea.

“What?”

“The sea. How it connects us. All of us in the world, yeah? And how there can be so much of it to cross when you really want to see someone...”

Dom leaned on the rail, facing the ocean next to Billy, his right hand to the right of Billy’s left. “Want to walk in it?” he asked, when he could.

“Yeah,” said Billy.

It was quiet, except for the ocean that lapped at their feet. There weren’t that many people out just then, and those who were didn’t seem to mind a couple of friends strolling down the beach together, or care who they were. Hands in his shorts pockets and heart in his throat, Dom glanced over at Billy. “Why did you come here?” he asked, at last.

“To see Hawaii, of course.”

“Well, that’s understandable. It’s a beautiful place, after all. Great surf–”

“I missed you, Dom. So much that I left a bloody job to fly out here.”

“So that’s why the director went round the bend?”

Billy cuffed Dom. “Yes.”

Dom laughed. “They’re not confiscating your Equity card, are they?”

“No, not yet,” said Billy, testily.

Dom put an arm around Billy’s shoulders. “I missed you too, Bill. More than I can say.”

Billy’s arm snaked around Dom’s waist and squeezed.

Dom turned toward Billy and the squeeze became a hug, which lingered and liquefied into a close embrace. They stood at the edge of the ocean that had divided them, locked close in comforting arms that soothed away tension and aching loneliness built up during the age they’d been apart. “I love you,” said Dom, softly. “I’m so glad you’re here.”

“So’m I,” said Billy, nuzzling close and breathing in.

“Are you sniffing me?”

“Maybe,” said Billy, burying his nose in Dom’s neck.

Dom chuckled and kissed Billy’s head. “That’s adorable.”

Billy chuffed a laugh against Dom’s skin. “I could just be trying to block out something worse.” He nodded toward a passing tourist who was busy munching on a pastry.

Dom nodded. “Cinnamon,” he confirmed, as Billy’s arms shifted and tightened around him. He returned the gesture, realizing with a shiver that... “We’re snuggling!”

“No we’re not,” mumbled Billy, drawing some of Dom’s skin between his lips.

“Yes, we are. On the beach in Hawaii, yet!” Dom grinned against Billy’s temple.

“You can’t snuggle standing up. And I don’t snuggle.” Billy nipped the skin he’d been sampling.

“Yes, you do! You snuggle birds, loads. And who says you can’t snuggle standing up?” Dom dipped his head to kiss Billy’s neck and press his face close against his friend’s.

“That’s different. It’s all about sex.” Billy went still against Dom’s neck.

“And this...”

“Isn’t.”

“Oh.”

Billy let go a shaky breath as they pulled apart. He leaned toward Dom.

Dom felt the familiar tingle prickle through him as Billy’s lips touched his own. As he had on the four occasions when Billy’s mouth had missed his cheek, and the six when he’d tried for Billy’s chin, and the one when Billy had given him a stage snog as a joke to show Lij how it was done, he tried to push it down and away. Accidental contact. Accident. Best mate, bestmatebestmatebest... And then, he felt Billy’s tongue sliding between his lips and the tingle enmeshed his every nerve. He opened to Billy, and then they weren’t snuggling, they were snogging on the most perfect beach in the world. Well, not technically, perhaps; that one was just down the road about half a mile. But... No, this was the most perfect. Wouldn’t have mattered if the thing were covered with hard shingle and stinking of iodine.

They parted slowly, amid small kisses, falling back into each other even as they tried to separate. Billy put his hand on Dom’s cheek and gazed at him. Dom turned to kiss Billy’s palm, pressing his emotion into the soft skin.

“Not about sex...”

“Not all about sex,” corrected Billy, huskily.

Dom kissed Billy again, trembling.

Billy touched his forehead to Dom’s. “Let’s go home, yeah?”

“Yeah,” murmured Dom.

They separated enough to gaze over the water, arms around each other’s shoulders. “Of all the beaches in the world, this one might be my favourite,” said Billy.

“Mine, too,” said Dom, thickly.

They squeezed each other closer, still facing out to sea. “But then, we haven’t seen them all, have we, so how would we know?” said Billy, matter-of-factly.

“Just have to make a tour, I suppose,” agreed Dom. “Still don’t think I’m going to find one I like better, though.”

“Does seem unlikely.”

“Home?”

“Home.”

The chaste walk home built up urgency that they couldn’t ignore when they shut the door behind them.

“Someone wants taking care of,” said Billy, as he pulled Dom’s hips and hardness closer to his own.

“Think that makes two of us,” growled Dom into Billy’s mouth.

“Bed,” mumbled Billy against Dom’s lips, as he pulled off Dom’s shirt.

“Yours. Closer...” Dom undid Billy’s buttons, walking him backwards towards the guestroom.

“Yours. Bigger.”

“Never thought you’d notice,” said Dom, with a lascivious grin as he eased the shirt off Billy’s arms, mindful that Billy would kill him if any harm came to it.

“Don’t go strutting just yet,” muttered Billy, running his hands over muscled shoulders and thrusting his hips forward.

Dom gasped as he felt Billy’s erection bounce against his, even through the layers of shorts and corduroy. “Too many fucking clothes.” He managed to sound as though he were begging.

“Not for long.” Billy turned Dom and pushed him onto the bed, surprising him. In a deep kiss, he pulled Dom’s shorts off with care not to graze straining flesh.

Dom reached to unfasten Billy’s cords and pushed them down with equal care, pulling them the rest of the way off when Billy joined him on the bed. “Billy...”

Before he could finish, Billy’s mouth was on his and Billy was rolling him onto his back and Billy’s hands were mapping-caressing-fuckingfondling every square inch of him and everything whited out and coalesced into Billy, especially when his cock met Billy’s tongue... Dom cried out and arched before he could stop himself. “Billy, I–”

Billy laughed, rubbing his nose where Dom’s cock had hit it. “Good thing there isn’t an actual bone in there, isn’t it?”

“I’m sorry,” managed Dom, through his blush.

Billy took the lengthy shaft in his hand and kissed it. “Hush, now.” He crawled up Dom’s body and kissed him. “Quite flattering, having you so excited over me.”

“Always have been.”

“Well, then, I’d best take advantage while I can, eh?” Billy kissed his way to Dom’s nipple.

Dom yelped and arched again when Billy’s tongue lapped it.

“Relax, Dom,” said Billy, laying his full weight carefully on Dom’s body.

“Easy for you to say,” rasped Dom. “Waited for you all me life.”

“No you haven’t. Just since 1999.” Billy wrapped his arms around Dom and kissed him, chastely. “Now I’m going to go slow, even if it is fucking killing me, and you’re going to refrain from beating me senseless with your oversized wang, which I’m very much looking forward to consuming, even if it kills you. All right?”

Dom chuffed a laugh and stroked Billy’s hair. “All right,” he said.

Billy kissed him again and then slid slowly downwards, kissing every patch of skin he met and licking firm stripes over sensitive nipples. “Breathe, love,” he said, calming Dom as best he could.

Dom released his breath on a stuttering sigh, cursing himself inwardly for losing it after all the experience he’d had. And then, Billy’s arms were wrapping around his waist and Billy’s face was pressing close against his belly and Billy’s mouth was imprinting words on his flesh and oh! but he’d wanted this for so long and he had to move and... He wailed, a long keen from deep inside as Billy engulfed him, holding his hips down with one arm and taking firm hold of the base of his cock with his other hand.

Dom pressed up against Billy’s tongue as it swirled and dipped into the slit. He bit down on his own tongue. Not my first time. Notmyfirsttime. Steady on, steady on steadyOH! Ohhhhhhhhh, yes, like that, just like that, Billy. Billy, this is Billy and he’s– right THERE ohmigod! And I’m... Ohgod! Warn him... “Billy! Soon...” Hang on hangonhangon... Let him get away... He’s still there... He’ll choke... Sucking me so hard... humming! ohgodfallingnowlovehimsomuchnotagirllovelovelove... warn... “BILLYYY!”

Dom came hard into Billy’s mouth, trembling as he sucked him dry, nearly screaming as it suddenly became too much and hating/loving it when Billy let him go.

Billy kissed the softening shaft and rested his head on Dom’s hip, kissing the junction of thigh to body.

Dom pulled at Billy. “Come... come here,” he panted.

Billy slid up to Dom’s waiting mouth and kissed him, deeply.

Dom tasted himself on Billy’s tongue. “How did you... where... how many blokes have you been with?” He nearly cursed out loud at the awestruck tone of his voice.

Billy laughed. “Apart from some snogging, just you.”

Dom’s eyes widened. “Then how on earth...?”

“I practiced on some of Ali’s toys,” said Billy.

“Oh... That’s, erm...”

“Something best left till we’re very, very drunk,” finished Billy.

“Yeah... That and how you got used to the taste...”

“Probably, yeah.” Billy shifted against Dom, who realised that there was some very welcome business he needed to finish.

“Your turn,” said Dom. He rolled them so that Billy was on his back. “And I’m going to go very, very, very slowly,” he said, grinning as Billy groaned out loud.
