Author: Molly (
spillingvelvet, and
purpleinkblot)
Pairing: Boromir/Legolas (Legolas/Aragorn in later part.s)
Rating: PG
Summary: Distractions in Moria
Authors Note: Beta's by
killerbunys and
luckystar37 and part three is in the works, and Alli will kill me if i don't write more, so, let this sate her/everyone.
Disclaimer: Characters belong to Tolkein. i just borrowed them for my perverted fantasies. *g*
*Dedicated to Alli*
Darkness. For days and weeks, nothing but darkness. They cannot risk a fire, Gandalf was adamant and stubborn in that respect. They rely on Legolas and his keen eyes and the glow of Gandalf’s staff.
Boromir feels as though his mother's womb was a black cave of stone and dust and all he's ever known is the chill of granite beneath his head and the aching quiet of stagnant air. He stifles his tears with the back of his hand when they stop for rest, and silently cries for the sun on his face and verdant grass between his toes.
***
Boromir is sometimes grateful for the isolation that darkness brings. For while in this tomb, no one may see him falter. Except Legolas. He feels the pull between Boromir and the ring, catches glimpses of spilt blood and dying pledges, and tries desperately to stay away.
But when Boromir loses his feet and stumbles into the shadows, scraping his hands through coarse gravel and sand, Legolas catches him by the arm and can see the Eye’s unholy shine.
And Legolas forsakes what his heart and mind tell him and throws away his caution, and Legolas does his best to distract.
