atomic_fiction, a new challenge. You can check it out on the comm or here. :-)
Welcome to the Atomic Fiction Challenge! This is an open-fandom challenge, inspired by the Two Lines Challenge. Here's how it works. Sign up by commenting in the community or e-mailing the mod (little old me) at maripo5api (at) gmail (dot) com. You'll be assigned two lines from a song, but not just any song: The lyrics will come from a song from U2's album How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.
Sign-ups are due by Saturday, January 21st; you'll receive your two lines by Wednesday, January 25th. The fics should be posted to this community between Saturday, March 4th and Saturday, March 11th.

Q: What do I need to do to sign up?
A: Comment to this entry in the comm, or e-mail me (again: maripo5api (at) gmail (dot) com), and include your name as you want it to appear on the participants' list, and your LJ name (if different). If you know what fandom you're planning to write it, that's nice, but it isn't necessary.
Q: Are there any limits on fandoms, pairings, ratings?
A: No, none at all. Please spread the word to all your fandoms. The more the merrier! Any pairing, any rating, any genre (het, slash, gen), crossovers are fine--go crazy.
Q: How long should my fic be?
A: At least 500 words; there's no upper limit on word count.
Q: Can I change my lyrics if I'm unhappy with them?
A: If you request the change before February 1st, I will get you two different lines. After that, you're on your own.
Q: Can I listen to the whole song?
A: Of course. But your fic doesn't have to take the whole song into account.
Q: What if I can't finish?
A: Let me know as soon as possible if you think that you will be delayed or unable to finish.
Q: What if you run out of lyrics?
A: I seriously doubt it will be an issue, but if it is, I'll throw all the lyrics back into the hat (there will be a hat involved, I'm a low-tech kinda mod) and start drawing them out again. I will make sure that if any lyrics have to be repeated, they go to different fandoms.
