Summary: Orlando contemplates the truth
Notes: For [livejournal.com profile] lotrpschallenge # 37

There are some things time cannot erase. Some feelings, some somethings get under your skin and stay there. No matter how many layers of whitewash applied by the passing of years, you can still see them, plain as day. The best you can hope is they're meaningless to anyone else.

There are some words you can never take back. They somehow mix with the air and become the truth. As much as you'd like to gobble them back into your mouth and swallow them whole, the truth cannot be unmade.

When it comes down to it; when you're done trying to out-run what you never left behind in the first place, the only thing to do is: Just Face It.

Maybe then you'll be lucky. Maybe Elijah will squint into the sunshine just before smiling his Oh So Elijah! smile.

And he'll giggle and say, "Me too, Orli." Just, maybe.

I was trying to find the right words to discribe this and how it made me feel, but I can't seem to find them, so I'll just say that I really liked this, it was sweet, yet sad and hopeful. Very nice.

Oh, damn.

I've been right there; this is exactly that feeling.

Goosebumps. Like wo.

So lovely, so very lovely! So hard when you're writing with restrictions and this was done extremely well.

Beautiful.... I am not a writer but I thought it was just lovely. Softly sad, sweetly still, like a reflection in a puddle after rain.
Thanks

MOME Award Nomination

[identity profile] foxrafer.livejournal.com 2008-09-10 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Hello again. I just wanted to try and touch base to see if I can get your approval to have the following part of the final ballot for the Men of Middle Earth Awards:

"Whitewash" - Classic Orlando Bloom/Elijah Wood Ficlets

Voting is set to begin on Wednesday, September 17, and run through October 31, so I'm hoping to get in touch with all the authors by this Friday (September 12) so I can get all the coding finished in time.

If you'd rather not be included, that's no problem at all. Just let me know and I'll make sure your work isn't on the ballot. I just want to make sure that I've done everything possible to get in touch with you before finalizing the post for the final vote.

Thanks for your time. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Good morning! The final ballots should be ready to go as scheduled tomorrow, September 17. While not every pairing will be represented, we're still going to have a great selection to read and enjoy.

I wanted to confirm the info for your nomination. If you'd like anything listed differently, or for people to be linked to a different location for your story, please let me know.

Thanks again for participating. Good luck and have a great day!

Candice

Hiya! Found this via the MOME's. Bitter then sweet and ultimately hopeful. What more could one want? :)

This is lovely and so touching. Your way with imagery is beautiful.

BTW, came here via the MOME awards ballot. Congrats on your nomination!
