Just A Working Class Lad
By Alexa Bond 24/01/2007
Disclaimer: This never happened unless I have psychic powers and can change the past, present and future. Any likeness to real characters is all in your mind, nothing more. This is fiction, made up, never happened, not real.... you want that in other languages as well? *LOL*
I intend no infringement, this is a piece of amateur fan fiction, and I make no money off it.
Only the original idea contained within this work is the property of the author. Please do not copy this story to any website or archive without permission of the author.
Timeline: Set after the filming of LOTR.
Universe: LOTR RPS
Romance: SB/OB, SB/VM
Summary: A tale about social classes, moving up and fitting in as seen through Sean’s love for Orlando and Viggo respectively.
Archiving: List archive and Green Opals [http://d.1asphost.com/greenopals/index2.html] may take it; others please ask.
Feedback: Yes, please. If you want me to continue writing that is *G*. My e-mail address is alexabond2000@yahoo.com
Rating: PG
Warnings: RPS, angst and some really romantic notions in this one.
Series: None.
Author’s notes: Because sometimes an end is just another beginning. In this story I do emphasize class differences more than most would probably say is how the ‘real world’ functions. But it is the theme of the fic so I hope no one feels offended. It’s meant to reflect the symbols I’m trying to create, not any political statements.
Another story written as a series of drabbles. I must be a masochist; the time it took making these fit! Also, this story is above all a thoughtful, intro-perspective piece.
Beta by Widdershin; thanks so much. You’re an angel! ‘hugs and kisses’.

Pairing: Orlando/Viggo
Rating: NC-17
Author:  DS
Summary: Orlando undergoes a terrible, life-shattering experience, but will
find a light at the end of the tunnel
Warnings: Mentions of rape and violence; extreme emotional suffering
Feedback:  I'd love it!!!

Orlando Bloom was late and Peter Jackson was not happy. Of
course, it was Monday and didn't Monday mornings always start badly? That
was Viggo's opinion, anyway and he was sticking to it.

Viggo was curious, though, if not a little perturbed. He,
Beanie, John and Ian had been prepared to hold their weekly poker game the
previous night and Orlando, being Orlando, had convinced them to let him be
the fourth player. It didn't matter that he had not the faintest idea how
to play poker; no, that wasn't an obstacle to the spirited young man. Games
could be learned, couldn't they? Everyone had to start somewhere, didn't
they? That was Orli's motto and no one could convince him otherwise. So,
schedules had been rearranged, they'd asked John if he'd mind Orlando taking
his place that week, and snacks had been bought. Well, they always bought
snacks, but Viggo put more thought into it this week because Orlando was
going to be there. He figured the young man would want more than the peanuts
favored by the geriatric set. For some unidentifiable reason, he wanted
the young man to feel comfortable and enjoy himself so, not knowing exactly
what he'd like to eat, the older man had grabbed nearly one of everything
off the shelf at the local grocery. Which explained why his kitchen table
was piled with bags and cans of junk food when the others arrived.

Nodding his head towards the teetering stack of fat and
calories, Sean Bean merely arched his eyebrows and waited for an answer.
Viggo shrugged and shook his head. It was Ian, in his forthright manner,
who got an answer out of him.

"What in mercy's name is all this? Were they sold out of
peanuts?"

And then, after exiling John from the game and spending a year's
beer money on snack food, the kid hadn't come. He hadn't even called to
tell them he wasn't coming; he just never showed. Not a word. Not a call.
Nothing.

"Just like the younger generation. They don't give a thought to
anyone but themselves. No manners." This was Ian.

"Maybe he got a better offer." Sean's two-cents.

"Let's play." That was Viggo's response. "Let's play the
game." And so they did. He didn't understand it, but for some strange
reason he was actually hurt that the younger man hadn't even bothered
himself to give him a call, letting him know he wouldn't be there. Though
he wouldn't admit it, even to himself, he was hurt by the boy's actions. He
didn't know why and didn't fully comprehend it, but there it was. His
feelings were hurt. As he joined the others at the table and began dealing
the cards, Viggo hardened himself to the feelings warring inside and decided
that the next time Orlando Bloom asked to join him in anything, he could
just keep asking

Hey all. Apologies, I've been in the process of a surprise move, so I've been neglectful here. A couple things:

• Since the issue has come up a few times recently in this comm as well as others, I'd like to reitirate something that I can't help but think is unspoken around here: Plagarism is not tolerated under any circumstances. Fanfic is for fun, but anyone who has spent large amounts of their free time on their creations would be upset if it was taken, changed and posted without their permission. Having read accounts of what happened while I was away, I have to say it's no excuse. As both a writer and an artist myself, I've had my own work taken and manipulated by people who claim to respect me, and it doesn't make me feel much love, but rather used and betrayed.

Now, I've been around for a few years, but like all of us, I tend to stick to my own interests, so I'm not always familar with every piece of writing there is in this fandom, especially those that are more than four years old or exist in archives outside of LJ. I count on you members and watchers to let me know if something's up. Never hesitate to email me if you believe something has been plagarized, and if at all possible, link to the original if it still exists. If not, I will take the accounts of at least three separate people telling me a fic is plagarized and I will remove the posting (and please use the comm email, as I don't get comments from this community emailed to me). Past that, it is up to the original owner of the fic to deal with the problem if they choose to.

I know many of you have been around longer than me, and you'll sniff out troublemakers. We are a zealous bunch, but let's avoid the wank as much as possible, yes?

• Are you happy with the way things are since I have taken over? I personally am finding tagging a bit difficult. How I have tagged up to now doesn't seem to be covering all the bases and I'm unsure on how to change it. Fics that have multiple pairings and pairings with actors from other films prove the most difficult, as well as those that don't list much in the way of info on the fic itself. I'd like to find a system that keeps the tag list from getting too huge and just as difficult to navigate as it was without one. Do you want me to institute a formatted heading rule? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Pairing: V/O
Rating: PG for now
Genre: Fairy tale-esque, AU-ish, Crack-ish
Note: I’m still figuring this one out. I thought I’d post it to the comms to see how things go. Test drive as it were! All feedback gratefully received and added to the inspiration pot :)
Disclaimer: Not real, not mine, not for profit.

Summary: Orlando and Viggo meet with friends and adventure in a magical wood. Based on my favourite children’s books – details at the end of the first chapter.

Dedicated to all the people who have left such wonderful birthday messages for me today. I find birthdays difficult, though not for the getting older reason particularly, and you've all made a difficult day pretty much a lovely day. Thank you all.
