Summary: AU. "Life is never long enough, so seize the happiness and hang on for the ride." Orlando never made LOTR and thus never became an in-demand actor. Instead he's languishing at the bottom rung and feeling like shit. But he's had a good past and has good friends. Maybe he'll land that role that'll make his career or maybe he won't. Still he knows that this life... is short and worth living.

Just wanted to let you know that I am really loving this story. I particularly like the way that you give out certain information in different paragraphs - the way the time lines jump about is really well constructed too.

It's intriguing to read about an Orli that hasn't had the break in LOTR and that there is the bitterness in him...it's the flip side to everything that he has now isn't it? You've written it brilliantly and I can't wait to see how the rest of the story unfolds;)
