They’ve struck an odd balance, Elijah thinks, dousing his french fries in malt vinegar as Orlando pushes bits of his salad aside looking for segments of mandarin oranges. Elijah looks down at the fries swimming in vinegar, ketchup and gravy. He’s peppering them heavily when Orlando speaks.
