Part I

Orlando Bloom was gay.

He’d tell anyone a million times a day, in a million different ways and they didn’t even have to ask. Not that it wasn’t completely obvious by just looking at him. The way he acted, the friends he had, and the way he dressed. All signs pointed to gayness.

The 18 year old high school student made it his goal to let everyone know he wasn’t ashamed of his sexuality. No. Not at all ashamed of the fact that he preferred boys over girls.

Orlando’s hair was a dark brown, curly in just the slightest fashion, with blue strands twisted randomly through it. Both his ears were pierced, decorated with simple silver studs. His dark brown, chocolate eyes were guarded, only showing energy and excitement.

Basically, to put it simply, he stood out as one of the real rebels at Jackson’s High School, in Newport Rhode Island. He, and his three best friends in the entire world, Lexis, Dom and Billy.

“Orli!” Alexandra’s voice could be heard 10 seconds before she appeared, wrapping an arm around Orlando’s waist and pulling him in for a hug. The girls black hair was thrown up in a pony tail and waved back and forth as she pulled back from the hug. “And how’s my favorite little gay friend?” She asked, smirking as he adjusted his knitted scarf around his neck.

“Oh you know… still gay,” Orlando laughed, lifting his left hand up and wiggling his fingers in front of his face. “I painted my nails last night.”

Lexis laughed and leaned back on the lockers. “Oh… pretty! Are you sure you didn’t get help?”

Orlando raised his eye brow in question but the answer just happen to bounce down the hall in form of one overly hyper dirty blond and relativity calm strawberry blond. “The fun has arrived!” Dom opened his arms wide and pulled Lexis into an off the ground swinging hug.

Lexis laughed and planted a soft kiss on Billy’s cheek, turning to watch Dom attack Orlando in a large hug. “Lay off,” Orlando smirked, pushing Dom in a teasing manor.

“Ah, what’s the matter baby?” Dom teased back, opening Orlando’s locker wide, fixing his hair in the mirror Orlando always had attached to the door.

“Come on Orli, it’s the first day of the new school year and we’re finally seniors.” Billy said happily, tugging on his soft brown coat.

Billy and Dom had been a couple for the past three years and had known each other since birth really. Billy was always the more calm, down to earth guy while Dom dressed in outrageous colors and always goofed around. All in all, they made a wonderful pair.

“It’s still school,” Orlando shrugged, pulling out his Trig book. “I’ve got math up first, you lot?”

“Advanced American History,” Dom and Billy said together, smiling brightly.

“Don’t tell me, same schedules?” Lexis asked with a bright smile. She had always been a supporter of Dom and Billy’s relationship. It was a running joke between the four that Lexis knew all three boys were gay before they did.

The four had been best friends since they were little, grew up together, and were always there together. Naturally Billy and Dom were closer, as were Orlando and Lexis, but generally they were connected at the hip. It just worked that way.

“Well I for one have Lit… and… holy fuck who is that?!?” Lexis trailed off as her eyes landed on a girl and a guy walking side-by-side down the hall. Both had light brown hair, the boys spiked up while the girls was cut at her shoulders and curled under. But the most amazing thing, what had Lexis in a daze, was their matching, amazing bright blue eyes.

“Ah, Elijah and Veronica Wood…” Billy supplied, a smirk on his face at both Orlando and Lexis’ wide eyes.

“New kids,” Dom took over explanations. “They’re twins. Moved in next door to Billy this summer. Elijah is a football player, went to the camp and everything. I hear he’s got major talent.”

Orlando’s eyes locked with Elijah as he walked, then slowly moved down his face. His lips were soft and pink, definitely kissable. They made him want to thread his fingers behind his soft neck, pull him close, and completely ravaging him.

There was no way he could be straight. He was too pretty to be straight. Those bright, gorgeous blue eyes. That spiky brown hair. Those khakis and incredible blue polo shirt that had never looked better on any man Orlando had ever seen. That was a good sign.

The bad sign came when a large group of incredibly straight football players walked up and pulled Elijah forward, cheering him like he was their best friend. Then the even worse sign approached Elijah in form of a giggly blonde, head cheerleader, and kissed him hard on the lips, his hand wrapping around her waist.

“Damn, he’s straight,” Dom cursed, patting Orlando on the shoulder. “Better luck next time Orli.”

Orlando looked surprised at him. He’d been very lost in his thoughts and studies of this new boy. “He’s not straight.” Orlando raised an eyebrow at Dom and Billy.

“Oh listen Orli, I know you think he’s hot…” Lexis laughed, shaking his head. “But that’s a lot of hope to put in…”

“Lex,” Orlando smiled at her, closing his locker and beginning to walk down the hall. “I’ve known I was gay since I was 10… I can tell when guys are gay… and that Elijah Wood is definitely gay.”

*~*~*~*~*

Elijah was thrown off course by the tall, lengthy dark haired boy standing with three others. The man’s eyes bore into him, seeming to be diving into his soul to try and read some emotion that he didn’t even know existed.

Something inside him sparked and he found himself blushing brightly as his eyes traveled just briefly down the body of the well dressed boy. His heart began to race a little as his eyes landed on the boy’s waist, not daring to go lower.

“Wood!” The cheering of his football friends made him jerk up and look at them in surprise,  blushing just a little before shrugging it off, bidding goodbye to his sister, and receiving a kiss from his girlfriend Lindsey.

He walked off with his friends, laughing and messing around. Slowly his head twirled back and he caught sight of the boy’s jean clad ass, a blush once more shooting us face and making him quickly turn away. He definitely shouldn’t be looking at guys like that.

*~*~*~*~*

“Hey guys,” Lexis came up to the table where Orlando, Dom and Billy sat, stepping over the bench, a girl beside her. “This is Veronica Wood, turns out we had our first two blocks together, so I thought I’d invite her to lunch.” Lexis smiled brilliantly at her.

Orlando, Dom and Billy shared knowing looks. “Hey Veronica, you have something you go by for short?” Orlando slid so he was sitting in front of her, smiling at her.

“Um… not really,” Veronica shrugged, looking somewhat shy at Orlando over her lashes.

“Well we shall dub you Ve,” Dom nodded, his hand going to rest on top of Billy’s hand. “I’m Dom, this is Billy.”

“Yeah, you live next to us right?” Veronica asked Billy.

“Yup,” Billy nodded, smiling and shaking her hand.

“I’m Orlando,” Orlando provided when no one introduced him. “You can call me Orli though. So how are you liking Newport?”

“It’s different,” Veronica shrugged. “I come from Iowa… so yeah… the ocean is nice though.”

“Cool,” Orlando nodded, his eyes raising from where Dom was starting a conversation with Veronica about her choice in clothing to search around the cafeteria.

In the next instant they found what they wanted to find, Elijah.

Orlando had the same 2nd block with Elijah and he had made a point of sitting beside him so he could pretend to scribble notes while really staring at him out of the corner of his eye.

Now he was able to take in the full length of his body, still surprised that khakis could look so good on one single person. The fell just right, fit just right. His eyes traveled back up Elijah’s body and found that the blue eyes were on him.

Orlando raised his eyebrow at him, smirking just a little at the clear desire in the bright blue orbs. Okay, maybe he didn’t realize that his eyes were shining desire, but that made him laugh more.

Their eyes stayed locked as Orlando’s hand went up to his hair, tucking a piece behind his ear. He could stare all day at those brilliant eyes, but his mind was drawn down to other things when Lexis kicked his leg under the table and he hissed.

“What?” He looked at her, a little annoyed but mostly just amused.

“You were staring,” Lexis commented, looking over her shoulder to spot the object of Orlando’s gaze. “Stop.”

Orlando rolled his eyes, shaking his head and tuning back into the conversation, deciding to rid Elijah from his thoughts for the moment.

*~*~*~*~*

Elijah knew that the tall boy was watching him the minute he walked into the cafeteria. After glancing around and realizing no one was paying him any special attention, he dared to look up and meet his eyes.

He’d spent all of second block trying to pretend that those chocolate brown eyes weren’t fixated on him. He couldn’t understand why any one person would be so fascinated with him.

Blue eyes locked on brown as Elijah stood purposelessly in the middle of the cafeteria, his eyes locked with those of that strange boy that he couldn’t get out of his mind.

The eyes were torn from him a second later, and moved down to a girl who sat beside his sister at their table. A small frown lined his lips and he turned to go join his other football players.

“Hey Wood, how’s classes?” Scott, one of Elijah’s many friends he made over the summer, looked up at him as he sat down.

“They’re okay,” Elijah nodded, shifting the food on his plate. He’d never admit it to his fellow players, but he very much liked school, especially now that he was a senior. He loved learning, it was one of his favorite things. “So… how are those people sitting over there with my sister?” Elijah gestured to the table where the boy with those eyes, the ones suddenly haunting him, sat.

“Oh, well, the girl is Alexandra, she goes by Lexis though. Um… that’s Dom and Billy and the dark haired one is Orlando. All gay,” Scott said with a nod, taking a bit of his mashed potatoes.

“Huh?” Elijah’s head shot to Scott, away from the table. “All of them?”

“Yup,” Scott nodded. “Dom and Billy are a couple, I guess you could call them that. And Orlando, well he’s just straight out gay. You couldn’t tell? Seriously, no guy dresses that nice and isn’t a fag.”

Elijah looked down at his own clothes and shrugged, not seeing what the big deal was or how that proved anything. But he nodded his head and went back to eating; only half paying attention to the chatter of football plays around him. For some reason the name Orlando continued to circle through his mind, teasing him with the simple form of it.

Yay! New Orlijah! I am loving this so far. Dom and Billy as a background couple rocks, and your characterisation is great. I can't wait to see where this goes.

Always happy to have new Orlijah fics. AU's are a big favorite of mine so I am already enjoying this one. That they are in High School makes me squee. I always picture Casey from the Faculty when I think of Elijah at this age. So tiny, what position is he playing?
How does Orli spend his time, drama, art, science geek? LOL trying to picture Orli as a science geek.
Thanks for the fic
Am already loving the Elijah twin thing.
