(drabble) Not so special now

Valentine's Day bitterish drabble. Great. I'm still haunted by this to some extent

Billy's heart cracked and leapt in his chest as he passed by Orlando, looking so cool and tall.

So poised and so... He wants to say "Complete" or "Aware" but none of those words come to mind

It seems like he's complete, but there's a frigid bitterness to his pose and all those times come flooding into his mind again. The memories are that strong that he wants to go up to him and talk to him again.

Instead, he turns to Dominic and carelessly bops him on the head, making the younger man yowl with feigned hurt before he returns the hidden caress back.

They walk past and he only pauses to look back at the man that ruled his emotions for years before letting the turmoil slip off like an old skin before moving ahead into the life he has built and the companion he has chosen to build it with.
