Memories
Title: Memories
Author: Pippin’s Penny
Pairing: monaboyd
Rating: G
Angsty, character death
Ficlet
Summary: 80 year old Dom recalls back on his life.
“Times were different back then. We were both scared, him more so than me. He said I had more to lose than he did, he would not fuck up my life. That’s my Billy. Always thinking of me.”
“At first, we tried hiding it.” Dom laughs a sad laugh. “But… we not very good at hiding our love.” Dom shakes his head. “Our publicists gave us hell. Our managers gave us hell. Our agents gave us hell. That, and us living on different continents didn’t help. Eventually Billy married, had two kids. I never did marry.”
“Fifteen years later, he finally called me after his divorce. He told me all the things that I had been waiting for him say all my life. We had just begun to rediscover each other again. Then… *sigh* and then he had the accident.”
“We were about to leave on holiday, a honeymoon of sorts. We were going to say “fuck you!” to everyone and just be together, hold hands in public, kiss, be happy… forever. However, we didn’t know that forever would come so fast.”
“The time we wasted, the happiness that we will now never see. But I will always have my memories, my Billy, so young, beautiful, quick and laughing. Surfing, playing, eating, no one had more fun than we did! He made me laugh harder than anyone, made me happier than I had ever been in my entire life.” Dom does not hide the tears welling up in his eyes. “And made love to me as no one else ever had or could. Back then, I could not have said that, back then… they would not let us, be us.”
