Fic: Sundance lusciousness
Title: Sundance Farewell
Pairing: BB/EW sorta, BB/DM alluded to
Rating: Um, I dunno. PG-13 maybe?
Disclaimer: Despite all the lovely pictures, I'm certain this all took place in my imagination. Unfortunately.
Summary: They were chucked out of the party at 3 am...
A/N: Inspired by the recent pics from Sundance. Finally, some decent Billijah canon to work with. Bunnies? Galore. This is actually part of a wider story arc that hopefully will be available for all to see once my website gets done. But it stands on its own. Dedicated to
booshgal33.
Get on with it? Yes, OK.
Sundance Farewell
It was cold outside. Even if he hadn't just been standing in a warm bar and wasn't flushed with alcohol and the buzz of performing, Billy would still have felt cold.
He stood hunched up, hands in his pockets, cursing whatever it was that had set off the alarm. Beside him, Elijah huddled over a cigarette.
It was almost 3 am.
"Think I'm going to call it a night," Billy said to whoever would listen. "Got a plane to catch in seven hours."
Elijah looked at him. "I'll walk back with you. Freezing my balls off has kind of killed the mood a bit."
They said their goodbyes, Billy dishing out hugs and promises to email, before the two of them trudged off down the road back to their hotel.
They walked shoulder to shoulder in silence for a while, listening to the squeak-crunch of their feet in the snow.
"God, it's fucking cold," Elijah said finally.
"Never mind, you'll be back in SoCal by this time tomorrow."
More friendly silence and scrunching feet.
"Dedicated of Dom to go all that way just for such a short time."
"I'd do the same for him, you know." Billy smiled, thinking of their friend. "He'll be on that plane right now, trying and failing to sleep." It was a nice thought.
"Gonna miss you, Bills." Elijah hooked his arm through Billy's as they rounded the corner of the block their hotel was on.
"I'll see you on Monday."
"Yeah, right. A couple of hours including taking you to the airport, and you'll be a total wreck, as you'll just have said goodbye to Dom."
Billy sighed. "True. But I'm not thinking about that just now, thank you very much." He held the door open for Elijah as they entered the welcoming warmth of the hotel lobby.
"So. You and Dom in a suite in the Four Seasons for twenty-four hours," Elijah said as they rode the elevator up to their floor. He turned to Billy and grinned. "You're gonna fuck the place down, aren't you."
Billy couldn't help the huge smile that spread across his face. "Absolutely." The doors opened and he made a gallant gesture. "After you."
"No no, age before beauty."
"Can't argue with that."
Billy still felt high from the jamming session and the beer, and he poked Elijah in the ribs as he followed him down the corridor. There were squeaks and giggles and shushes.
After a few abortive attempts Elijah managed to get his key card to unlock the door, and unceremoniously dragged Billy through it after him. "C'm'ere."
"What the fuck?"
"Wanna say goodbye properly," Elijah said as the door closed behind them, sliding his arms round Billy under his jacket and burying his face in Billy's shoulder.
"I'll see you Monday, you tosser. God, that's actually tomorrow, since it's now Sunday morning." Billy wrapped his arms around Elijah.
"Yeah, but you won't give a shit about me, you'll be all sad over Dom leaving."
Billy sighed. The blissful month or so with his friends was indeed drawing to a close, and he'd really better begin to deal with it. "Elijah," was all he could manage to say, his eyes closed and his chin on Elijah's shoulder. "Thank you for coming this weekend, it meant a lot."
"God, you're so welcome, it's been fucking brilliant." Elijah kissed Billy on the cheek and then on the lips before resting his forehead against Billy's and grinning. Billy stared at his eyes, thinking how different this Elijah was from the version he'd first met in New Zealand: black and white, night and day, boy and man.
It was very much Elijah the man who then gently put his mouth over Billy's, a hint of tongue nudging between Billy's lips. Billy found himself responding, partly out of curiosity and partly just because he wanted to.
It was a careful, tentative, exploring kiss. Elijah was undemanding, tasting smoky-sweet like the scent of his cigarettes, and Billy found it comforting and friendly rather than arousing. The skin on Elijah's neck was soft under his palm; as Elijah sighed and shifted his feet, Billy felt the brush of an erection against his thigh.
Finally he broke it off, putting a finger over Elijah's lips to stop him from saying anything.
"Let's call that goodbye, eh?" he whispered in Elijah's ear. "I'll see you on Monday afternoon."
And with a final squeeze of his friend's body, he left the room.

Glad you liked!

But that doesn't mean to say everyone would see it that way. And I really liked it too. *frets* I just hope I didn't put you on a downer about it, because that wasn't the intention at all.

I see what you mean, though. That was supposed to be a sort of goodbye squeeze - they both know Billy can't stay, and Billy doesn't want to be any more unfair on Elijah than he already has by returning the kiss.
It's part of a wider story arc, I think it makes more sense if you know what else has happened... but other stories are flocked on my RL journal until I can get my website sorted.
Thanks for commenting though!

Billy won't be unfaithful to Dom, not in this universe anyhow.

i agree! and i also think in fanfiction it's so great because, for me anyway, it makes me feel more there, you know?
