Elijah tried to ignore Dom as he watched the movie. Dom kept playing with his hands, taking each one of them into his own, rubbing them, looking at each finger closely, and generally disturbing Elijah. He kept pulling them away and putting them in his lap, and Dom would leave them alone for a few minutes before picking them up and doing it all over again.
“Dominic Monaghan! I am trying to watch a movie!” Elijah said, annoyed. He pulled his hands away from Dom for what he felt like was the hundredth time. Dom gave him a sheepish smile, blushing furiously.
“Sorry, love. I’m bored.”
“Do you not like it?”
“When I was ten. It’s Disney, Elijah.”
“There is nothing wrong with this movie.” Elijah crossed his arms. Dom sighed and sat back against the arm of the couch.
“I was actually enjoying myself before you took your hands away.”
“What were you doing, besides driving me crazy?”
“Looking at your hands.”
“Why?”
“They’re pretty.”
“Pretty?” Elijah asked, putting his hands out in front of him.
“Well, besides the bitten nails of course. They’re just gorgeous.”
“That sounds so girly.” Elijah put his hands back in his lap, but Dom took them again and spread one of them flat in his.
“You are kinda girly, Lij,” Dom joked. Elijah hit him with his free hand.
“Asshole.”
“Look. You’re hands are so smooth and creamy. And look at those veins,” Dom said, tracing the veins on the back of Elijah’s hand. “Just too bad that your fingers are stubby.”
“My fingers are not stubby!” Elijah pulled his hand away and held it up in front of his face. “Okay, they are a little stubby.”
“You’ve really got the smallest hands I’ve ever seen on a man. Just reinforces that you’re girly.” Elijah pounced on Dom, pushing back onto the couch, hitting him playfully. Dom was laughing uncontrollably. “Don’t hurt me, Lij!” Elijah stopped hitting Dom and propped himself up on his elbow against the back of the couch. With his other hand, he grabbed Dom’s.
“Let’s take a closer look at your hands, okay?” Dom spread his hand out so Elijah could see it better. Elijah dragged his fingers along the skin, pausing to rub his thumb over the soft hair nearer Dom’s wrist. “It’s official. I hate you.”
“Why?” Dom said, laughing.
“You have man hands.”
“Man hands?”
“Yes. Man hands.”
“What is that supposed to mean, Lij?” Dom studied his hand closely as Elijah continued rubbing his fingers lightly over it.
“For one thing, you have hair on your hands.”
“Hairy hands are a good thing?”
“Dom, we’re guys. I have less hair on my hands than a lot of girls I know.”
“Good point.”
“You’re fingers are long and bony. The hands are kind of rough looking, like you’ve actually done something with them, instead of all creamy and boring like mine. You’ve got little scars on them, like this one on the inside of your middle finger.”
“Pop ice and knife.”
“Huh?” Elijah asked, looking up at Dom in confusion. Dom brought the finger closer to his face.
“When I was a kid, there were these popsicle things in plastic that were bloody hard to open. So, I tried to cut it open with a knife, and cut through my finger.” Dom brought his hand down and found Elijah looking like he was trying to decide to laugh or feel sorry for him.
“That sounds painful and really stupid.”
“It was.”
“You also have the cutest freckle on the bottom of your middle finger. I love it.” Elijah brought the hand up to his mouth and kissed the freckle lightly. “You just have man hands.”
“There’s not a thing in the world wrong with your hands. I love them. I just wish you’d stop biting your nails. And smoking, too, but I love you anyway.”
“Oh, shut up. If I stop biting my nails and smoking, my mouth might go crazy. I’d have oral withdrawals.”
“We could always fix that, love,” Dom said, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively at Elijah. Elijah just rolled his eyes.
“If I let you play with my hands, can I finish watching my movie?”
“If you let me play with your hands, you can do anything you’d like.”
“I’ll remember that later on tonight.”

This was funny, I especially liked the story about the scar. The little freckle was nice too. Nice attention to detail!

Re:
You always write Dom and Lij so well that it seems like a page right out of their life.
I'm so glad that I have them in character! Sometimes I wonder! :)
Yes, I have some interesting scars on my hands, and Dom totally seems like the type to have them too.
I really appreciate all the FB :)
