Viggo moved around the camp a bit, changed clothes into something warmer and
sturdier, tucking a hat down over his head before taking up his camera with
a fresh roll of film and heading out from camp, thinking Dom was
asleep--planning to get some walking, thinking and photographing done.
_+_+_+_+_+
Dom watched Viggo get changed, liking the stripping bit but pouting
as more clothes were added, he snuggled down, only just noticing when
Viggo left the camp.
Gradually fatigue overcame him and he settled down to sleep, on his
back, one arm flung over his head, legs tangled up in the sleeping
bag and blanket.
_+_+_+_+_+
Viggo stayed gone for quite some time, getting rather lost in thought and
losing track of time. He had taken his sketchbook in the backpack he had
on, sitting down at length over looking a nice little waterfall and simply
doing some sketching. He didn't really notice how late it was getting until
he started losing the light.
_+_+_+_+_+
Dom turned over suddenly, arms searching for Viggo beside him //Funny
how quickly you get used to something...and miss it when it's gone!//
He turned his head about //Still walking I expect// He yawned before
dropping back down, almost asleep as his head rested on his curled arm
_+_+_+_+_+
Viggo didn't head back just yet, even though he knew he might should--he
just wanted to finish the sketch he was working on, brow knitted in
concentration, the backpack sat next to him, open, camera laid on top of it.
_+_+_+_+_+
Dom woke in confusion, sitting up as the light had almost
faded. "Viggo?" He scanned around but couldn't see a sign of
him. //Must be off being creative somewhere//
He stood up shivering, then seeing Viggo's shirt on the ground that
he'd discarded earlier he put it on over his own. //Smells
nice...smells of Viggo and sex and fire.//
He walked to the fire to stoke it but they were almost out of wood.
_+_+_+_+_+
It was pretty much dark when Viggo made his way back to camp--without the
benefit of a flashlight no less. He dropped his pack with the rest of the
stuff, looking at Dom at the fire.
"Sorry, I lost track of time," he stated.
_+_+_+_+_+
Dom stood up as Viggo came back into the fire lit area.
"S'okay...I was only a teensy bit worried about you! I'm sure you can
navigate about just fine!"
He handed over a pot of coffee he'd made from the supplied Viggo'd
brought with him. "It should still be warm" He smiled and placed a
kiss on Viggo's cheek.
_+_+_+_+_+
"I should have taken a torch with me though, I'm lucky I hadn't wandered
overly far," Viggo commented, taking the coffee and pouring himself a
cup. "And it's nice to have a warm fire and cup of coffee to come back to."
He grinned at Dom. "Have you been asleep all this time?"
_+_+_+_+_+
"Dozed on and off for a bit, woke up properly about an hour ago, saw
some wildlife...fox or whatever the local equivalent is, but it was
too far away to see, didn't like the fire light! Got us a good supply
of firewood. Nice quiet afternoon!" Dom stretched his arms
high, "Just what I needed! What did you get up to?"
_+_+_+_+_+
Viggo picked up some of the firewood, putting it onto the fire and building
it up again. He listened to Dom talk, smiling, just liking hearing him--his
accent.
"I walked for a bit, found a nice little waterfall, did some sketching, lost
track of time. That happens with me, I'm terrible for it, especially when I
paint."
_+_+_+_+_+
//This is so nice// Dom thought as he gazed openly into Viggo's face,
smiling up at him. //Just quiet, no pressures or anything, just to
talk to someone and not have to crack a joke every five minutes.//
"Can I see them? Your sketches?" Dom asked, taking the coffee mug from
Viggo's hands and topping it up, taking a sip.
_+_+_+_+_+
Viggo smiled, going back over to retrieve his sketchbook and handing it to
Dom. There were plenty of pages done before they came out here, and some of
the waterfall and the area around it--some that didn't seem like much of
anything, but intriguing none the less--and there were a few half started of
Dom, from memory--and one more towards completed.
"Here you go."
_+_+_+_+_+
He handed the coffee to Viggo in exchange for the pad, opening it
carefully and flicking through the pages till he found the waterfall.
"This ones nice...good depth in the rocks, nice flowing lines to the
water, good perspective." He flicked through some more, "This one's
sweet," he said pointing to a close-up detail of a flower. "Even the
flowers here look exotic."
_+_+_+_+_+
"The flowers here are exotic, at least in my opinion," Viggo stated.
"Everything is." The man sat down, sipping his coffee, wondering what Dom
thought of the ones of himself. Stretching his legs. Viggo watched Dom,
enjoying just watching him.
_+_+_+_+_+
Dom flicked through the pad in silence for a few minutes, going back
through the older ones. Then one caught his eye. It was him, or at
least Merry, he looked lost in thought, just a quick sketch, but it
caught his quiet mood perfectly. And then another on the same page of
him smiling, his eyes shining. //So that's what he sees in my eyes!//
"When did you do these?" He looked up, firelight glinting in his
eyes. "I don't remember you doing them."
_+_+_+_+_+
Viggo got up, going over to Dominic to see exactly which ones he
meant.
Those he had actually done prior to today--he'd sketched nearly every
member
of the main cast at one point or another. Dom had always caught his
eye
though, something about him--his eyes, his demeanour.
"Those not long after I got here I suppose. I like drawing people
when they
aren't paying attention, and I'm good at not being noticed when I
choose to.
These," he flipped through to the more recent ones. "I did these
today,
while I was off sketching, just from memory."
_+_+_+_+_+
He looked at the sketches, saw a good looking young man smiling back
at him, eyes glowing with emotion.
Dom looked up, a tentative smile tracing over his lips. "Is that how
you see me?...But I'm..." //Beautiful...handsome maybe? the way you
draw me...it's not the way I see myself...some useless pickup no good
for anything other than a quick fuck.// He trailed off, not able to
say how badly he really felt about himself...or how good it made him
feel to see how Viggo thought of him.
_+_+_+_+_+
"But you're what?" Viggo pressed, letting his fingers ghost across
Dominic's cheek before taking the sketch pad back and closing it,
laying it on the ground. "Yes, it's how I see you. But obviously
not what you see."
_+_+_+_+_+
Dom looked up into Viggo's eyes, let his own eyes open up, tired of
hiding everything, letting all the love and sacredness and confusion
show out.
"I guess I see me like I'm used to being treated...not here...here's
nice cos no one knows my past. I see me tainted, just treated like
the set bike, a bit of rough to pass the time and then pass on to the
next in line...but here, away from home...I feel like I've been given
a second chance almost. And with you...with you I just want to be
me...the real me...the quiet one who's slipped away inside a bit...."
He looked up at Viggo hoping the man wouldn't suddenly hate him for
what he was, hoped he would give him a chance to become what he
wanted to be.
_+_+_+_+_+
"No one has done that to you here, have that?" Viggo asked, then he
shook
his head, it wasn't really his business if Dom didn't wish to tell him
something like that. He tilted the young man's chin up a bit,
kissing his
lips. "You're young, and I'm not saying that as a dismissal, I'm
saying it
because that works to your benefit. You're too young to be
*anything*...you're still figuring out who and what you are. And you
will,
and if coming here helped you do that, then that's the best thing you
can
take away from this experience. Do you understand what I'm saying?"
_+_+_+_+_+
"No, here's been...it's been fine," Dom replied before Viggo tilted
his head up, placed his lips over Dom's as the young man felt his
heart stop fluttering and his nerves calm again.
_+_+_+_+_+
Viggo was glad to hear that, he hated to think any of the actors here had
done that, Viggo liked most of them too much for that.
_+_+_+_+_+
He listened to Viggo talking, he knew it was true, if he tried he
probably could put everything in the past. Start afresh. "Yes...I
know, I'll try to carry on as I've been here, start anew." He held
Viggo close, wrapping his arms around him, snuggling into his chest,
a position Dom was getting to like very much. "Thanks for being so
understanding," he mumbled into the surrounding warmth.
_+_+_+_+_+
"You do what you want to do, always remember that. Don't let anyone else
dictate or define who you are..." Viggo said quietly, stroking the hair of
the young man in his arms. "And you're welcome, but there's really no need.
It's nothing anyone shouldn't do."
_+_+_+_+_+
Dom cuddled up to Viggo, feeling cared for. He breathed in deeply,
smelling the man, a faint smell of soap, fire smoke, laundry
detergent, and spice, musk, paint, all mixed together. //Just lovely//
He sighed, shifting a little. Then his stomach rumbled.
Not wanting to lift his head from the wonderful chest he mumbled into
Viggo's shirt. "Got any more food? Us hobbits need lot of sustenance
you know!"
_+_+_+_+_+
"Yes, I'm beginning to realise that," Viggo teased. "There is some more
soup I believe, some apples, Trailmix and the like. Does that sound good to
you?"
Stroking Dom's hair, Viggo didn't care to move just yet though.
_+_+_+_+_+
Dom laughed a bit, trying to keep his eyes open, all this fresh air
was getting to him, unused to it, and the fire was warm, and Viggo's
arms were cozy,
"Mmmm, Apple'd be good luv...but in a bit...'k...," Dom trailed off,
mumbling into Viggo's chest as sleep hit him again
