Part 2
It was a miracle Elijah was able to sleep at all. He half expected Dom to call him at some strange hour and give him a piece of his mind. But no, surprisingly that didn’t happen.
The next morning, Elijah went out to breakfast by himself.
He heard the bell on the diner door ring but didn’t bother to look up and see who it was. If it was Dom, he didn’t really feel like facing him.
“Lijah” He heard Dom say and then he felt the heat of Dom next to him. Shit
“Say what you have to say, Dom, and then please leave me alone.”
“You little shit.” Dom sounded offended. “I can’t believe you’d pull shit like that.”
“Dom, what the fuck are you talking about?”
Dom pulled out his cell phone, turned it on, and handed Elijah his phone. Elijah listened to his own voice, and closed his eyes.
“Dom, I don’t see what the big deal is.”
Elijah could feel Dom boring holes into the side of his head. “Were you being serious?”
Elijah looked down into his coffee and nodded. He didn’t bother to look up when he heard those familiar footsteps walk towards the door, and then the diner bell ring again.
He knew this would happen. It was inevitable. That’s the way it always happened, no matter what. You tell someone how you feel, and no matter how close you are, everything changes between you two. Elijah didn’t know why he thought this time would be any different.
Elijah got up and walked out of the diner. He wasn’t sure where he was going, but he walked.
He heard a low rumble and looked up. The sky was pitch black and it was beginning to rain. Great. The weather always seemed to reflect his mood.
He kept walking but stopped mid stride when he realized where he was. He looked across the street to see Dom’s apartment. Figures he would wind up here.
He ran across the street quickly and knocked on Dom’s door. He was doing this just to get out of the rain. He didn’t have any intentions of speaking to Dom. Not that Dom would want to speak to him in the first place.
After no one answered the door, Elijah dug in his pockets for the spare key Dom had given him. He unlocked the door and stepped inside. It didn’t seem like anyone was home. Well, it was better for him anyway.
The house smelled of beer, and Dom.
He walked over to the stereo and tried to find some good music to put in, to drown out the storm, and his thoughts. He couldn’t really decipher the difference between the two.
He sifted through the CDs until he found just what he was looking for. Coldplay. Their band. He put the CD in and searched.
Track number 5. Yellow.

Dom wound up outside Elijah’s apartment. He knew Elijah hadn’t followed him so he found the spare key under the rock and unlocked the door.
He didn’t know why he ran away, he should’ve stayed and told Elijah how he felt. When he had gotten the message 5 minutes after Elijah had left it, he sat in bed and thought, really thought. Something he rarely did. He had planned on telling Elijah in the morning, but when he found him, he just couldn’t bring himself to do it.
He walked over to Elijah’s CD collection, half of the CDs he had, Dom had bought for him.
The CD he was looking for was right on top. Coldplay. He put the CD in and searched.
