Cadbury Eggs

Title: Cadbury Eggs
Author: _sblomie
Rating: PG
Pairing: Dom and Orlando
Summary: Dom's drunk and begins to think too much. Orlando's stuck listening.
Author's Notes: This is just to be silly and to make people laugh. It's was just an excuse to say 'cadbury canal' simply because I told limeysugar that I would do it.

"Hey Orli?" Dominic was staring at the brightly coloured foil covered chocolate and caramel Cadbury egg being rolled between his fingers. It was around Easter time so the little candies were everywhere at the moment. He had several empty beer bottles spread out around him. Orlando had just about as many around him, too, but Dominic had been drinking with Elijah before he came home.

"Yes, Dom?" Orlando had been half asleep on the couch as he thought Dominic had fallen asleep on the floor in his hunched over position. He had jumped when his lover was suddenly speaking and moving one of the many candies in between two slender fingers. Rolling over as he moved to hang over the edge of the couch, scooting down along the leather furniture to rest of his cheek on the back of Dominic's shoulder with an arm draped over his shoulders.

"Why do Cadbury bunnies cluck?" Dom didn't seem to immediately notice the fact that someone was touching him as he was focused on his thought process. However, his free hand reached up to hold to Orlando's own before leaning back to be closer to his lover. Tilting his head as he glanced down to the other man, blue eyes searching those of brown for an answer.

"What?" Orlando had to be sloshed to be hearing questions like that. It bore repeating.

"The rabbits...they cluck." Dom was all but insisting, pointing to the picture of a rabbit amongst the eggs on a grassy knoll on the cover of the bag.

"Well, they do lay eggs." Dominic shrugged as he spoke, trying to rationalize why the little rabbits would bother clucking at all. In all of his life, he'd never heard a rabbit make a noise but his sister claimed they could scream and shriek.

"Yes, and rabbits don't do that either." Dom didn't like the answer he was given, huffing as he opened the foil wrapper and popped the miniature Cadbury egg into his mouth. It was an interesting mixture...beer, chocolate, and caramel.

"It's just a marketing thing, don't worry about it." Orli muttered as he reached his other arm down to rub at his lover's stomach. He knew Dom was going to get started on his rant now, and nothing could stop it. So, might as well try to calm him down now by rubbing his stomach.

"They're not politically correct, either." Dom cooed softly, leaning back against the couch as he pressed a lazy kiss to the side of his lover's neck. Orlando tilted his jaw up a bit to expose more of his neck to the affectionate attention that sent shivers racing over his olive skin.

"...What?" Orli blinked, slowly lowering his head to force Dominic to stop his kisses. "You're kidding, right?" he asked as he stared at the clouded but oddly clear blue eyes with his dark brows raising.

"You heard me." Dom insisted, crossing his arms over his chest.

"You're telling me that the Cadbury bunnies are racist?"

"No, just not politically correct." Dom corrected Orlando, reaching up to flick the man from Kent on the forehead. He would never accuse the Easter bunny of being a racist. Never. It could be the end of silly little presents from his Mum and Orlando at that case. And, if Billy or Elijah heard of it, there would be no end to it.

"I'm going to regret this, but why are they politically incorrect, Professor Monaghan?" Orlando was hiding his face against the back of Dominic's neck, knowing he should never ask Dom such questions when he was in the stage of his drunken stupor when he decided to over think everything.

"The dark brown furred bunny, he's like Barry White! And then the little white one has this nasally little cluck and the others well...fuck the others, they're unloved in the egg laying rabbit world." Dom explained as if it was all matter of fact. Something that everyone should know since it was so blatantly obvious on the packages and on the commercials that were broadcast everywhere this time of the year.

"You've got to be kidding me." Orlando muttered, his face remaining hidden as he did not want to believe his boyfriend just said such a thing.

"It's on the commercials!" Dom insisted, stomping a foot as two bottles fell over and clinked together. So much for his little garden of Killian's trees. Soon enough, he'd forgot about the beer bottles and was back to focusing on the Cadbury eggs.

"No wonder you like Cadbury." Orlando muttered as he rolled over onto his back on the couch. He let a long leg slide off to rest near his boyfriend while he let an arm rest over his forehead to hide his eyes from the lights in their living room.

"Mm?" Dom tilted his head back to look up the length of Orlando's torso to his partially hidden face. Even when drunk and over thinking, he always thought Orlando was absolutely gorgeous. Which was a great deal of the reason why he was so easily distracted at the moment. Reaching up, he traced out the simple sun design embossed on the other man's stomach. Smiling when the tanned flesh twitched under his fingertips from the quickly sucked in breath of air from the sudden touch.

"It gives you some meaningless, blathering nonsense to go on about." Orlando grinned and he knew Dom saw it due to the huff blown across the sliver of skin showing on his stomach.

"You like Cadbury too, though." Dom let his forehead rest against the side of Orlando's body, nuzzling happily against his lover. He was trying his best not to let a grin break across his face, eyes open just enough to show glimpses of stormy blue.

"They're okay, I guess." Orli shrugged when Dom accused him of liking the candies. He would eat a few here and there but he would never go hoarding for them. They were far from his favourite thing to eat. Dominic had bought a ton so he was helping to eat them to just get them out of the house already.

"You like Cadbury canals..." Dom said it as calmly as he could, voice muffled in the small space between the couch and Orlando's side.

"What?!" the former Elf sat up quickly, swatting at the back of Dominic's head as he could not believe the other man had just said such a thing. Brown eyes were wide as his jaw was hanging agape in utter disbelief.

"You like my Cadbury canal," Dom giggled as he looked up with a smile stretching from ear to ear. He knew he wasn't going to get in too much trouble for that comment. Especially when he saw a wicked blush break over Orlando's cheeks and ears before he was offered a tender kiss.

"Step away from the beer and no one gets hurt." Orlando muttered against the kiss he started, arms wrapping around his boyfriend. Pulling from the kiss as he let their foreheads rest together lightly, smiling in return as he could taste the mixture of alcohol, candy and something just... Dominic on his lips.

"You just want me closer." Dom teased, shifting to face the couch as he moved to sit on his knees. He was happy where he was, holding to Orlando's belt loops.

"Dom?" Orli was staring down at the other man once he sat up again. An amused smirk in place as he finally stretched out once more.

"Yes?" Dom looked up, moving to rest his cheek on Orli's stomach. Brows raised as he was honestly curious as to what the other man had to say.

"I need to remind you of something." Orli started slowly, reaching a hand down to smooth back his lover's unruly and mutational blond hair.

"And what's that?" Dom asked softly, eyes closing at the touch of fingers through his hair. Shifting his head a bit to nuzzle against the touch, a more lazy and content grin replacing the cheeky one.

"You're the one who likes Cadbury canals." Orlando giggled. He watched his lover crack open just one eye before it sunk in what had been said. Giggling as well as he let his eye close and enjoy the feel of those fingers in his hair.

"Not the Barry White kind, though." Dom snickered.

"You still like them." Orlando shook his head, repeating his point as he moved his hand to massage at the back of Dom's neck.

"How do you figure?" Dom wanted to see how far he could take this before they were either laughing too hard to continue or one announced their conversation too stupid to continue.

"Because you're on top more than me." Orlando had the reasoning of all reasoning. Dom pouted as he knew that the little subconversation was over already. Orlando had a proud and smug look on his face, settling his shoulders happily.

"Oh...right." Dom conceded, grinning as he shifted his arm to wrap around the Elf's slender hips.

"You should stop eating the eggs." Orlando took note of how many foil wrappers were collected into little mountains on their coffee table. He had never been too big into chocolate in the first place, only here and there and mostly in special circumstances. So, to see so much remains of chocolate made his stomach churn and he could only try to guess what was going on in Dom's stomach.

"They're not real eggs..." Dom muttered, pouting.

"Yes, but too many mixed with all of your beers will make you puke." Enter the mother hen mode. In the back of his mind, he wondered if Dom would call him a mother hen and ask him to lay an egg. When it didn't happen right away, he was relieved. As it was, he was already going to have to send his little Hobbit to bed.

"I'm not going to puke!" Dom huffed as he stuck his bottom lip out on purpose. He didn't feel sick in the least. Of course, he was sure that it would not be the same song and dance in the morning.

"Well, let's save some eggs for tomorrow and just be careful." Orlando reached over, closing the bag as best he could as he saw Dom reach back to blindly grope for another foil wrapped chocolate egg. Orlando swatted his lover's hand which was quickly recoiled and hidden on his lap.

"But I want more..." Dom sat back on his heels, pouting as he looked to the closed bag as if he was never going to be able to eat another Cadbury egg in his life. It wasn't true, but he was having fun acting like a kid with his boyfriend. It was rare when they were able to be silly and alone together.

"Dom, come to bed." Orlando had got up when Dominic had sat back on his heels. Holding his hands down for Dominic to take as he met the soft blue eyes. Yawning as he was ready for bed, had been ready for bed, and just wanted snuggles and a warm bed with more than enough pillows.

"Fine, but no sex tonight." Dominic took the offered hands, pulling himself up but also pulling Orlando close. They started their way off towards the stairs and up them towards their shared bedroom. Dom was resting his chin on the other man's shoulder once they were in the upstairs hallway.

"And why not?" Orli pouted when he was told there would be no sex. However, they did not seem to be in the mood for sex tonight. Both of them seeming to just be a bit too tired for their own good at the moment. Yawning once more as slipped away from Dom once they were in the bedroom.

"Because you sounded like my mother, and Dominic Monaghan, Mr. Bloom, is not a mother fucker." Dom grinned as he got in one last witty comment as they were changing for bed. The both of them finding a pair of flannel pajama pants before crawling into the large bed and under the pale blue down comforter. Settling close in each other's arms, legs tangling together in a simply and affectionate gesture.

"Shut up and go to sleep," Orli muttered with a lazy grin as he was to the point where he could not hold his eyes open anymore. Shaking his head a bit as he settled it more comfortably on the pillow.

"Night, Orli," Dom mused softly. A final kiss stolen before he tucked his head under Orlando's chin and let his body relax as he started to drift off to sleep. Blue eyes closed as his muscles finally went slack and a slow sigh escaped him before he was fast asleep. It was not too long before Orlando followed suite.
