Billy felt strange. As he stood on the front stoop of Elijah’s trailer he hesitated before knocking. Why hadn’t he told Dom he was going to meet Elijah. He had lied and said he was going to take a little nap and come over to Dom’s later. Dom didn’t bat an eye or ask a single question after Billy had said so. This didn’t seem too out of the ordinary, but then why did Billy feel like the cheating lover meeting his mistress? Perhaps it was the fact that Dom hadn’t said anything. Billy felt like if he was cheating, he was getting away with it beautifully, and the calm before the storm is always a feeling Billy got when he felt he was getting away with something. Even when he was a child he assumed that if he got away with taking a cookie without asking, it was just because his Gran was just around the corner waiting to pounce on him. It was paranoid, he knew, but it had served him right once or twice, so he listened to the feeling.

"Whatever." He thought. "Elijah and I do not have any wrong intentions in meeting privately. That’s ridiculous. Besides, I’m protecting his right to privacy by not telling any one about it." And with that thought, he knocked.

"Come in." A sultry voice echoed from within. Elijah was playing again. He always was one for a bit of drama. Billy entered a bit nervously to find Elijah lying on his couch dressed in blood-red silk pajamas. The lights were turned down and against the plain black of the couch, Elijah’s face shone bright with the rest of his body swathed in ruby. He held a full wine glass in his hand. Elijah looked like the devil in the body of a child.

"Something wrong?" Elijah looked up with teasing eyes at Billy. Then he smiled. "I love these clothes. They are the most comfortable things, besides, they make me look sexy as all hell." Billy smiled.

"May I sit down?" Billy draped his coat over the chair by the door and swept into the room, somewhat mocking Elijah’s game of "look at me the sexiest thing alive" and entered as a challenger. He sat beside Elijah where his feet almost touched Billy’s thigh. "Are you going to offer me some of that wine, or am I going to have to be rude and take it from you?"

An hour and three – or four – glasses of wine later, Elijah and Billy had loosened up a bit too much. Billy knew Elijah when he was thoroughly inebriated and this must have been very good wine because Elijah was at his flirty-ist. He kept touching and tickling Billy in the cutest way, which was a wonderful change from his latest sulk. It was good to see the old ‘Lij back, so he let him run his hands all over him. He had some quality time to make up. Even when Elijah put his hand on Billy’s back and ran his nails over him, Billy let it slide. They were both getting a bit high on the water-mark and hands find minds of their own. Billy was just relieved that the worst was past and it was going to get much better between ‘Lij and him.

"Billy. You are the best. You have no idea how hard it has been to restrain myself around you and Dom the past ten days. But now, well, I’m just really fucking glad that you finally ran me down and said what I needed to hear." Elijah took Billy’s glass and his own and placed them down on the floor by Billy. He moved with such poise, and the light reflecting off of his scarlet clothes rippled and made him god-like in beauty. He sat up awkwardly and smiled slightly at Billy. Then mimicking his best Dr. Evil, he raised his arms and said, "Could I have a hug?"

Billy smiled, unable to resist Elijah’s cuteness in his personality swings. Such the charmer. Billy leaned forward and rested his warm and fuzzy head on Elijah’s shoulder.

Elijah had been silently nervous all night long. Billy was giving him a chance to impress him and show him that what Elijah had was better than Dom. By the look on Bill’s face as he entered the trailer, Elijah had won already, but he wanted to be completely sure. So, Elijah resorted to what he knew best: Sex. He liked to consider himself a well experienced man in the art of love-making, and he wanted to show Billy every dirty little thing he wanted to do to him; how many ways he could make him come.

Elijah took a chance. Made bold by the wine in him, he made a move. While he charmed Billy with his extremely cute character impression, he laid the trap. Once Billy was in his arms he took a deep breath. He had wanted this for so long and now he was finally touching his object of obsession. Billy had voluntarily wrapped his arms around him. Elijah breathed a sigh of relief that surprised himself. It was made of escaping longing that he had held down so long. It was filled with the fears that he had. It made him feel so much smaller and lighter to know they were gone.

His mouth opened in a delicious awe when he felt Billy sigh, too. His eyes turned from love to lust as he remembered just exactly what he had in his arms. He was out to kill tonight, and Billy would simply have to bow to him.

Elijah turned his head and placed a gentle kiss on Billy’s collar bone left bare by his yielding shirt. Billy’s breath drew in, but he took it as a gasp of pleasure and continued on. He kissed up Billy’s neck and was about to find his jaw when the fuzzy glaze was shattered.

"Elijah, what are you doing?" Elijah froze, but then relaxed. If Billy wanted to tease him, he would play along.

"Why, I’m making love to you, Billy. Or would you prefer Mr. Boyd? I don’t care what you want me to call you. I will be in control of what goes on in the bedroom tonight, anyway."

"What?" Billy sat back further, if that was possible. He was inching further away from Elijah and he was looking quite alarmed. Elijah was confused. Billy had told him that things were not what they seemed and practically wrote him a sign saying "Go ahead."

"Billy, you told me today that Dom and you were not what you seemed. You told me that you two weren’t serious, and since I had such a strong attraction for you, that I should try you out. I am showing you all the goods I’ve got. I can offer you a great deal in terms of a relationship, and I want to make love to you to show you exactly what you’ve been missing out on." He raised his hand to touch Billy’s mouth, but Billy moved.

"I never told you such a thing."

Elijah’s heart reached critical mass and plummeted toward the center of the Earth through his body. His eyes went blind and his head began ringing. Warnings and alarms were going off, but still he could hear what Billy was saying to him, even though he would have done anything not to.

"I told you that it wasn’t what you thought. You said that you had felt terribly uncomfortable. I thought you were having a homophobic reaction to Dom and I’s relationship. I thought you might have thought I was just sleeping with him, and that it was not meaningful." Billy ran his fingers through his hair. This time Elijah cursed those beautiful fingers.

"I came to tell you that Dom and I are in the deepest throws of love. We mean a great deal to each other, and we think it may be this way forever. We know it may be weird for you guys and I wanted your blessing before–" The words were knocked out of Billy’s mouth as he was shoved into the couch.

"YOU FUCKING WHAT?! Forever?! He’s not forever! He’s fickle and fake and he will fall apart on you! I could give you everything and you want to give it up for that fucking English twat with the broken face and no future! I could give you everything you ever wanted in life! What do you want to push me away?!" Elijah’s fists ground deep into Billy’s chest. Billy’s eyes were wide, but Elijah couldn’t see them. His brain was spinning off a diatribe that felt like spewing toxic fumes. It hurt, but he couldn’t stop. His veins were on fire and he had been meaning to get his out for so, so long. His eyes began to tear.

"No! NO! I won’t have it. You can’t do this." Elijah flew off Billy to his feet where he could gain a distance between him and his beautiful icon to give the glorious velocity to his words that he felt to make or break him in Billy’s eyes. The tears on his face stung and his voice began to crack as he told Billy everything.

"I watch you every day. Your smile is was I live for. Your eyes light up when you laugh. It is the only sun in my world. I live curled up in a damp, dank corner starving for that illumination. I hang on your every word. Your heartbeat is my own. We are the same. I need you. I need all of you to myself." Elijah tossed each of those words at Billy’s lake-green eyes and saw that nothing stuck. The anger bubbled inside him again.

"How could you mislead me so much?! How many of those smiles were faked so you could simply boast to your drinking buddies that two men turned gay for you and one of them was a fucking movie star?! How many times did you practice that punted-puppy look in the mirror just rip my heart out at the perfect angle so I there would be no doubt that I would bleed to death?! ANSWER ME! HOW MANY?!"

*

Billy got up off the couch to try and comfort Elijah and his demonic twisted face down to a rational level. Things were getting out of hand and ‘Lij was losing it. He had just gotten to his feet when Elijah made a mad dash toward him, throwing him to the ground. And there was a loud pop, and then a very loud scream.

Billy was knocked out of his own body so badly that he failed to realize the scream had come from him. Elijah was on top of him trying to lay hands on his throat, and there was a very sharp pain in Billy’s back. Elijah’s stabbed me! Without thinking, a reflex took over and Billy’s right hand connected with Elijah’s eyebrow hard. The punch was enough to knock Elijah unconscious in his alcoholic mania, but it probably wouldn’t keep him out for long. It didn’t matter to Bill. He was getting the fuck out of there. He cradled his left arm and tore out of Elijah’s trailer door and to Dom’s as fast as his adrenaline would push him.

*

It was 12:37 AM when Dom finally heard footsteps outside his door.

"About fucking time, Bills. I was about to think that something had happened to you, you fucking – OH JESUS, BILLY!"

Billy fell to his knees inside Dom’s door, and then barely managed the air to gasp, "My...back...is bleeding."

Dominic had already grabbed the scissors from the kitchen and was falling all over Billy in complete and total shock.. He cut the back of Billy’s shirt open to reveal the wound. Billy gave a shriek as Dom pulled, what looked like the stem of a wine glass out of Billy’s back and tossed it to the floor.

"How on Earth, Billy? What the fuck... never mind, you’ll tell me later, but we’ve got to get you to a hospital." Dom was beside himself and Billy was barely uttering a sound except for his irregular breathing. Dom was grabbing for the cordless. They needed an ambulance soon. Billy had been drinking and his blood was pounding hard and thin through his arteries and out of his shoulder. There wasn’t a great deal of time. Dom’s head snapped around to hear the front door slam.

*

Billy looked up from the blood-stained sheets to see a dark figure next to the door. There was something long and shiny in its hand and the figure was pointing it at him and Dom. Then as his eyes focused on the electric, ice blue crazed eyes of the dark figure, he heard, "You forgot your coat. That, and the bullet going to the back of your throat."
