Dom knew he’d have one hell of a hang over in the morning but, as he twirled his half empty bottle of cheap beer in his hand, he couldn’t bring himself to care. He was drunk and content with life and hell be damned if he was going to let any form of logic talk him out of the unopened, frosty beers sitting an arm’s width away from him.

Dom brought his beer to his lips and quickly finished it. As he threw the empty bottle into the ever growing pile in the middle of Billy’s den he let himself lean back against the sofa and take in his surroundings.

Billy was several feet away from him, sprawled out across the floor on his stomach and repetitively flipping through the tv channels in a failed attempt to find anything of value on television at three in the morning. He could hear Orlando in the kitchen digging through the cabinets in search of ever source of alcohol in the house. And then there was Elijah, laying across the sofa behind him and humming the tune to the Smashing Pumkins song he had insisted they listen to that morning in make up.

Dom was amazed how comfortable this felt. He had only just met these men but it felt like they had known each other for years. He closed his eyes and listened to the gentle melody of Elijah’s humming. Dom could easily picture Elijah’s face, eyes closed and that angelic glow that seemed to radiate off him.

Beautiful, innocent Elijah. The moment Dom had seen him he had wanted Elijah. He had looked into those breathtaking eyes and wanted nothing more than to pin Elijah against the wall and corrupt him. He wanted to see Elijah’s face quivering in pleasure and those pure eyes filled with lust and sin.

But Elijah was straight.

Not to mention only seventeen.

Infatuation is a bitch.

“And our lives are forever changed. We will never be the same,” Elijah whispered, his breath tickling the back of Dom’s neck.

Fuck. This was not what Dom needed to get over his new little obsession.

“Believe, believe in me, believe,” he continued and Dom sensed Elijah’s finger tips hover over the back of his neck.

Maybe getting Elijah drunk with was a bad idea.

“We’re not the same, we’re different tonight,” Elijah sang, his hand finally coming into contact with Dom’s neck as he ran his finger across the bare skin.

Fuck.

Part of Dom was screaming to run and lock him self in the bathroom and count ceiling tiles until he was sober enough to drive himself home.

The other half of him was also screaming for him to lock himself in the bathroom but for different reasons. He could feel his pants tightening and his hand slide up his thigh until it was resting over his jean covered crotch.

“And you know you’re never sure but you’re sure you could be right,” Elijah voice becoming more deep and husky with each line of the song. Dom opened his eyes enough to see that Billy was paying no attention to them, completely engrossed in a spandex wearing model demonstrating how to use an all-in-one workout machine.

Dom’s eyes feel shut again as he pressed down on his crotch and moaned softly.

“In the resolute urgency of now,” Elijah continued. Dom pressed down harder and almost cried out loudly. Just as his fingers were reaching for his zipper the door flew open and Orlando stumbled in. The moment of lust was quickly lost and Dom jerked his hand away from himself. He ran his hand through his hair and sent up a silent prayer that Orlando was to drunk to realize what he had just walked in on.

“There is no vodka left in this house!” he loudly declared, leaning against the doorframe for support.

“Orli, we told you that an hour ago when we finished off the last bottle,” Billy stated, finally looking away from the television. Dom felt his breathing return to normal with the confidence that no one in the room was aware of what he had been doing. Although there was still the uncomfortable tightness in his pants but there was nothing he could really do about that at the moment.

“There’s nothing left to drink,” Orli pouted, crossing him arms.

“Come here, love. You can have one of my beers,” Dom offered and a smile spread across Orlando’s face. Dom grabbed two beers and held one out in offering to him.

“That’s why I love you,” Orlando slurred as he pushed himself away from the door. Several steps into the room he tripped over an end table and feel to the floor in a fit of laughter.

“That’s it, no more for the elf,” Billy laughed, turning off the television and sitting up to face them.

“I’m completely sober,” Orlando demanded as he crawled several feet across the floor and propped himself against the sofa next to Dom, “And this man already offered me a drink.”

“That I did,” Dom said, taking a swig of his own beer. He watched as Orlando quickly chugged down his own and threw the bottle across the room.

“Don’t give him anymore, I’m don’t fancy spending tomorrow cleaning his puke out of my new carpet,” Billy said, waving a hand at Dom.

“You’re sexy when you’re mad,” Dom joked, winking at Billy as he placed his drink on the floor next to him.

“Billy’s always sexy,” Orlando added, wrapping one arm around Dom’s neck and resting his head on his shoulder, “Just like you.” Dom’s heart skipped a beat.

What the bloody hell was in these beers.

“Don’t be a slut, Orlando,” Elijah mumbled from behind them.

“I’m not!” he pouted again, snuggling closer to Dom.

“I think it’s time we call it a night, I’ll go call a cab,” Billy decided, stretching as he stood up.

“We can call our own cabs, we’re big boys,” Dom insisted.

“And you’re all completely trashed. There’s no way you could look up the number. Besides, Elijah’s two seconds away from passing out, Orlando’s completely intoxicated and if I left it up to you I’d have six hookers showing up here instead,” Billy joked.

“Hell, it’d be more than six,” Dom joked, as Billy shook his head and left the room. The room fell into silence again as the door swung shut. He could hear Elijah’s deep, rhythmic breathing behind him and was sure that he was already fast asleep. Dom’s eyelids fell shut and he could feel sleep starting to overcome him.

Suddenly Dom’s eyes snapped open as he felt a pair of hot lips press against his neck. Before he could react Orlando had rolled over on top of him and his lips slipped down to his collar bone and began to suck softly.

“Orlando, what the bloody…,” Dom started but Orlando quickly pressed a finger to his lips. He felt Orlando’s tongue trace the outline of his ear and he moaned softly.

“Shh, we don’t want to wake up Elijah,” he whispered breathily into his ear, as his hand fell to Dom’s waist and proceeded to slide up his shirt.

“Fuck,” Dom gasped, as Orlando’s mouth crashed against his. Dom thrust his pelvis up against Orlando hard as he felt him run his thumb across his nipple, causing both of them to moan loudly into each other’s mouth.

Dom’s hand’s slid down Orlando’s back until they cupped his ass. He tugged Orlando closer to him as he thrust up again. Any restraint he had within him had completely evaporated at this point. They were both breathing heavily now, Orlando pressing down hard into Dom.

“Dom,” Orlando gasped, before biting down on Dom’s bottom lip. That sent Dom over the edge as he came hard in his pants. Orli pressed down on him several more times before letting out a loud grunt and collapsing on top of him. They laid there for several seconds, neither one moving. Their breathing slowly returned to normal as a strange calmness refilled the room.

Unexpectedly a horn honked loudly outside causing Dom to jump and knock Orlando off of him.

“Oh my God, are you okay?” Dom asked quickly. Orlando just reached over for Dom’s beer and quickly took a swig from it.

“I’m fine, sugar. A little nervous, are we?” Orlando laughed.

“I…,” Dom started but stopped as Billy walked into the room.

“Dom, wake Elijah up. Your cab is here,” Billy informed, walking over to them and offering a hand to help Dom up. He voiced his thanks as Billy pulled him up from the ground.

“What about me?” Orlando asked, putting both arms out like a baby. Billy just shook his head and laughed.

“You live on the other side of town then these two, you get your own cab which isn’t here yet,” Billy stated.

“I can still stand up!” Orlando pointed out.

“Yes, but I don’t want you stumbling around my place breaking things before you have to,” Billy laughed, “Right Dom?”

“Yeah,” Dom answered, feeling uneasy. He was still soaking in the events of only a few moments earlier and his head was spinning from the combination of lust, alcohol and confusion. “Come on, ‘lijh. Time to wake up,” he said, shaking Elijah’s shoulder softly. Elijah finally stirred and opened his eyes. “Time to go home,” he informed Elijah, pulling him up off the sofa. Billy fell down on the sofa to take his place and smiled at them.

“We should do this next weekend…at someone else’s place,” Billy suggested.

“I completely agree,” Orlando responded, locking eyes with Dom.

“Yeah, well I need to get this boy home before he passes out on me again,” Dom babbled, as he began to lead the half-asleep, half-drunk Elijah towards the door.

“Bye, loves,” Orlando and Billy called them.

Somehow Dom was able to get Elijah into the cab without any falls or injury. As they pulled away from Billy’s house, Elijah leaned into Dom and began to sing softly to himself.

“We’ll make things right, we’ll feel it all tonight. We’ll find a way to offer up the night tonight. The indescribable moments of your life tonight. The impossible is possible tonight. Believe in me as I believe in you, tonight,” he sang before drifting off to sleep again.

Dom tilted his head back against the seat and closed his eyes.

No good was going to come from this.

Author’s Notes:

The title and inspiration for this series is from the song I Will Never Be the Same by Melissa Etheridge from the Yes I Am cd. Song lyrics:

So you walked with me for awhile / bared your naked soul / and you told of your plans / how you would never let them know / in the morning of the night / you cried a long lost child / and I oh I tried to hold you / but you were young / and you were wild // chorus: but I, I will never be the same / oh I, I will never be the same caught in your eyes lost in your name / I will never be the same // secrets of your life / I never wanted for myself / but you guarded them like a lie / place up on the highest shelf / in the morning of the night / when I woke to find you gone / i knew your distant devil / must be dragging you along / Repeat chorus / and you swore you were bond for glory / for wanting you had no shame / but I loved you / and then I lost you / and I will never be the same / Repeat Chorus

The lyrics that Elijah is singing throughout this part are from the song Tonight, Tonight song by The Smashing Pumkins off their Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness cd. Lyrics:

Time is never time at all / you can never ever leave without leaving a piece of youth / and our lives are forever changed/ we will never be the same/ the more you change the less you feel / believe, believe in me, believe / that life can change, that you’re not stuck in vain / we’re not the same, we’re different tonight / tonight, so bright / tonight / and you know you’re never sure / but you’re sure you could be right / if you held yourself up to the light / and the embers never fade in your city by the lake / the place you were born / believe, believe in me, believe / in the resolute urgency of now / and if you believe there’s not a chance tonight / tonight, so bright / tonight / we’ll crucify the insincere tonight / we’ll make things right, we’ll feel it all tonight / the indescribable moments of your life tonight / the impossible is possible tonight / believe in me as I believe in you, tonight
