Pairing: domlijah
Rating: PG (swearing, i think its only once)
Summary: Fluff, Dom and Elijah can't fulfill their expectations from everyone. Influenced by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs song "Modern Romance"
Feedback: is Appreciated
Disclaimer: don't own anyone or make claims on their sexuality.

Their love was anything but ordinary. It was no modern romance.
It wasn't the type of relationship you read about in fairy tales. Prince Charming wore eyeliner and the glass slipper was shattered into a thousand pieces on a crowded New York street. The horse drawn carriage was an old black Jetta with a missing hubcap. Their fairy godmother was a gay British man who had seen and lived through things unimaginable to the young lovers. They didn't hold hands all the time, or whisper sweet promises to each other. They weren't inseparable. They were apart more often than together. The time away made them stronger. It made them grow. Not all their friends supported them. Their parents certainly didnt. It was no modern romance.
They stayed in every night. Favoring soft kisses and cuddling on a beat up couch over disapproving looks and whispers. They teased each other incessantly, but never missed the opportunity to make up. They didn't make love. They fucked. They didn't have to make love, the love was already there. They didn't have the same interests. They were complete opposites. It was no modern romance.
They annoyed each other to no end. They were different from the others and their careers suffered because of it. They were in love and the public wouldn't understand. They went beyond ordinary love. And at the end of the day, there would be a rustle of covers in bed. The eleven o'clock news. The same bored woman would report a sighting of them that day. Holding hands in the grocery store while choosing a brand of peanut butter. Kissing in the airport after two weeks apart. From under the covers would come a giggle from the Eyeliner Prince and his Knight in Polka Dot Boxers. Their tale wasn't ordinary. They would live happily ever after, even if the world couldn't understand. Even if they didn't understand themselves. It was no modern romance.
It was just Dominic and Elijah.
