A/N: This is for [livejournal.com profile] ladydarkrose who requested Dom/Sean. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out to be hawt pr0n, but a little angstier instead. As usual, thanks to my wonderful beta, [livejournal.com profile] impasto.

Dom walked in and threw the keys down on the floor, not even caring that he missed the table. They echoed hollow in the empty house, loud and violent against the floor.

He walked into the kitchen, not bothering to even glance into the bedroom. He knew what he’d see. Empty drawers, a half-empty closet, a bookshelf void of anything but knickknacks and empty soda cans. He opened the cabinet and only had three mugs to choose from. Did he really only own three coffee mugs? But after Dom thought about it for a few moments, he realized he hadn’t needed any more. Sean’s were always there.

The kettle steamed on the stove as Dom stared out of the window. The dusk covered the sky in brilliant oranges and pinks, and the trees swayed in the evening wind. Dom shivered and turned away.

With a steaming mug in his hand, he walked slowly through the house. The silence drowned him. He felt it crashing down upon him more fiercely than untamable waves of a restless ocean. The rooms were so bare. It was empty. He was empty.

He was alone.

*

Dom stumbled into the house and knocked the lamp off the table beside the door. It fell to the floor and shattered. Dom glanced between the bedroom door and the broken lamp, and tried to pick up the pieces. He lifted the shards and closed his fingers a little too roughly around them. He dropped them.

Red blood trickled down his hand and he ran into the kitchen, bumping into the doorway and a chair along the way. He stuck it under the faucet and ran water over it.

“Dom, what in the hell are you doing?” Sean asked sleepily. Dom held up his wet hand.

“I’m sorry I woke you. The lamp just fell.”

“After you knocked it over.” Sean stood beside Dom and grabbed his hand. Sean turned the water off and pulled a towel out of a drawer. He wrapped it around Dom’s hand. “Keep that around it.”

“Okay.”

“Where have you been? It’s after three and,” Sean paused, leaning close to Dom, and sniffed, “you reek of alcohol.”

“I went out for a couple of drinks.”

“I think you had more than a couple,” Sean said. Dom swayed and Sean caught him before he tumbled over. “You’re piss ass drunk.”

“No I’m not,” Dom slurred. Sean led him out of the kitchen and into the bedroom. Dom fell onto the bed as soon as he got into the room. Sean pulled Dom’s boots off and then his shirt and pants. Sean looked down at Dom, snoring softly already, and threw the clothes against the wall. He crawled into his side of the bed and didn’t fall asleep until after the first rays of sunlight were peeking around the curtains.

*

Dom rolled over and blinked. His eyes were blurry and he couldn’t see hardly anything. He heard Sean rustling around in the room, so he sat up, rubbed his eyes, and looked around. Sean was stuffing clothes into a large duffle bag.

“Where are you going?” Dom asked, voice scratchy. He coughed in an attempt to clear his throat.

“I’m going to stay with Elijah for awhile.” Sean didn’t look up. He just kept balling up shirts and throwing them inside.

“Why?”

“Dom, this just…I can’t do this anymore.” Sean finally looked up and Dom could see the exhaustion in his face.

“Do what exactly?”

“This. You leaving me home alone almost every night, me spending my time worrying if you are okay or if you’re out sleeping around or passed out drunk in a pub. I just can’t, Dom. I’m too old for this bullshit.” Sean zipped the bag and draped it over his shoulder.

“But you can’t leave!” Dom shouted, jumping out of bed. He caught Sean’s arm as he went to the door. “Please Sean. I can’t…I love you.”

“I love you, too. But it’s just not enough anymore.” Sean shrugged his arm from Dom’s grasp and walked to the living room. Dom absently followed. “I’ll come get my stuff in a few days.” Sean opened the door and walked through, but turned around and looked at Dom. “Goodbye, Dom.”

Sean closed the door and left Dom standing alone in the living room.

*

Dom heard the knock on the door and jerked awake. He didn’t even realize he’d fallen asleep.

He padded to the door and opened it, revealing Billy on the other side.

“Why aren’t you dressed?” Billy asked, pushing past Dom. Dom shut the door behind him and walked over to the couch.

“Not going.”

“Yes you bloody are. Now get your arse off that couch and get dressed.” Billy grabbed Dom’s hand and tried to pull him off the couch, but he wouldn’t budge.

“I am not going, Billy. You can’t make me.”

“Dom, I’m sick of you moping around this bloody house. It’d do you good to go out and have fun.”

“Sean’ll be there.”

“So? It’s not like you haven’t seen Sean since the breakup. Stop being a prat and get dressed. Come on.” Dom let Billy pull him off the couch and into his bedroom. Billy glanced through Dom’s closet and threw a button up and jeans onto the bed. “Now get dressed.”

Dom slowly changed clothes while Billy went to the bathroom. When Billy returned, Dom was fully dressed, his hair almost done.

“There, was that so hard?” Billy asked, coming up behind Dom. Dom looked at Billy in the mirror and shook his head.

“I don’t want to see him, Billy. I really fucked up.”

“Yeah, you did. But you could perhaps salvage your relationship if you’d get your head out of your arse and try. Sean loves you. And he misses you. It’s not beyond fixing, mate.” Billy patted Dom on the shoulder. “Let’s go.”

Billy drove them to Elijah’s, but Dom didn’t get out when Billy shut off the ignition.

“Dom.”

“Give me a minute, Bill.” Billy sat silently by Dom until he opened the door and got out.

They walked up to the door and heard loud music and laughter floating out. Dom halted.

“Come on, Dom. You’re almost there.” Billy nudged Dom forward and opened the door.

They walked in, and Dom made pleasantries with different people, but the whole time he kept his eye out for any signs of Sean. He was nowhere to be found. Dom finally excused himself and found Elijah in the kitchen, whispering closely with Billy.

“Um, sorry guys,” Dom said. They looked at him, and Elijah blushed.

“Hey Dom,” Elijah said, giving him a hug. “How are you?”

“Okay, I guess. Have either of you seen Sean?”

Elijah glanced at Billy uneasily. “He’s in his room.”

“Okay, thanks.” Dom turned to go.

“Dom, wait!” Elijah said. “He…he’s avoiding you. I just wanted you to be prepared.”

“Thanks.”

Dom slipped through the crowd towards the back of the house. Sean’s door was closed. He opened it without knocking.

“What do you want?” Sean asked from his bed as Dom closed the door behind him.

“I wanted to see you.”

“You’ve seen me. Can you leave now?” Sean turned away from him. Dom crossed the room and sat on the bed next to him.

“No. I’m not leaving you.”

“Dom.”

“Listen to me, Sean. I fucked up. A lot. I’m sorry. But please don’t shut me out of your life. You mean too much to me for me to give you up without a fight.” Sean turned to look at Dom.

“Dom, sorry isn’t enough.”

“I know it’s not. But how can you sit there and just throw everything we had away? I love you, Sean. I can’t help it. I’m a fuck up, a terrible boyfriend and person, but I love you.”

“Dom, don’t…”

“No.” Dom leaned forward and pressed his lips against Sean’s. He felt Sean go still against him, but it didn’t deter him. He kissed his way from the corners of Sean’s mouth to the shell of his ear and back. When Dom’s lips met Sean’s this time, Sean kissed back and opened his mouth. Dom slipped his tongue inside as he crawled atop of Sean’s body. Sean slid his hands underneath Dom’s shirt and ran his palms across Dom’s smooth skin.

They hastily undressed each other and soon were lying stretched against each other, naked. They slowed their actions as they ran their hands across each other’s bodies while their mouths became reacquainted.

Sean wrapped his legs around Dom’s hips, and after quickly covering his cock with lotion they found on the dresser, Dom slid into Sean. Dom adopted a slow rhythm as he lazily stroked Sean’s cock with his hand. His other hand roamed along Sean’s body while Sean gripped Dom’s shoulders.

Sean came quietly into Dom’s hand. He lay placing kisses across Dom’s face while Dom thrust quicker. He finally came and collapsed on top of Sean. Dom nuzzled his face into Sean’s neck and placed kisses across his sweaty skin.

“I’m sorry,” Dom whispered. Sean kissed his damp hair.

“Me too.”

“You don’t have anything to be sorry for. You were right. I was an ass.” Dom paused and then whispered even more quietly. “Please come back home.”

“I’ll move my stuff back tomorrow.”

“Good. The house was empty without you.”

“I was empty without you,” Sean breathed against his skin.

Dom closed his eyes and nodded. Sean was right. But now Dom didn’t have to go home alone.
