Vamp Billy and Dom part 2
After a few weeks of being vampires, Billy and Dom were the happiest they had ever been. They were the rulers of the night, or at least of the town. They feasted every night on unsuspecting victims. They had also acquired a rather big follow up of vampires who worked for them. Life was good. Or, at least, the after-life was.
But Dom was getting restless. “Lij hasn’t called in ages!” he told Billy, whining.
“How do you know?” Billy asked him, “he hasn’t got our phone number, and we don’t even have a phone here!”
“Diverted my home phone to my mobile.”
They were walking along, in the dark, on the road back to the cemetery, just chatting and looking for a place to eat. They had already eaten that night, but they wanted to have a bit of fun this time.
“Why do you care anyway?” Billy asked
“He’s our mate. I think we should let him know!”
“And how do you suppose we do that? Ring him up and tell him, or, even better, go and meet him in SUNNY California?” Billy was starting to get angry
“Well, I thought we could go over. Night flight and stuff.”
“He has a beach house!” Billy said, nearly shouting, “the light gets in everywhere! What are you thinking? Are you trying to kill us?”
Billy started to walk faster; Dom grabbed a hold of his arm and turned Billy around and looked him in the eyes. Dom was all puppy-eyed again, and he knew that Billy couldn’t stand it. “No” he said softly “you know that’s not what I want. That would be terrible!”
“Well good.” Billy said, getting his arm free and walking off again. Since he heard Elijah’s name, he had been filled with hatred. He didn’t know why, but he had a pretty good idea. Why did Dom have to remember him? Why couldn’t it just be Billy and Dom forever? Why did that short annoying American have to butt in?
Dom caught up with him. “What’s wrong?” he asked gently
“Nothing, nothing” Billy said, “I just want it to be you and me!” He put his hands up to Dom’s face and pulled him in closer.
They kissed.
They came apart. “What was that for?”
“Nothing. Just love you!” Billy said. “Shall we go home? The sun will be up soon!”
They walked back to their crypt. Dom had noticed that Billy changed when he mentioned Elijah. He must miss him, he thought. Dom was going to surprise Billy by inviting him over.
Billy walked into the crypt. “Wait here and come in after ten minutes. OK?” Billy kissed Dom on the cheek and went in.
Plenty of time to phone Lij, Dom thought. He would be awake in America now. He ran off at super vampire speed to a phone booth, went in and punched in Lij’s number. It started to ring.
“Hello?”
“Hi Lij. It’s Dom”
“Hey Dom! How’s things in England?”
“Fine, fine. Wanna come over?”
“Just like that?”
“Just like that!”
“OK. I’ll be over on tomorrow’s flight!”
“Just don’t tell Billy. It’s a surprise.” Dom said
“Ok. See you then!” Elijah hung up. Dom ran back home.
When he got back to the crypt he checked his watch. Only eight minutes had passed, he decided to go in anyway.
He went to his room and went in. Billy wasn’t there, or he couldn’t see him. But then from behind, he caught Billy’s scent. “Hey sexy!” Billy said “Don’t turn around, I’m not wearing much.” Dom resisted the urge. Billy stroked his arms. He moved his arms upwards and blindfolded Dom. “Wha?”
“I have a surprise for you!” He pulled Dom towards him and walked him to his room. “Look.” He said softly as he undid Dom’s blindfold. There on Billy’s bed there was a beautiful young woman. She was chained to the bed by one wrist. She was sobbing slightly. “Present” Billy said. “For you. Our one month anniversary.” Billy kissed Dom and let him go. Dom leapt to the bed. He lay down and ravaged her and drank deep. It was good. When he finished her, he was full of energy. He jumped on Billy and they started making love. They kissed. They felt and stroked each other. Billy undressed Dom whilst Dom carried him to his room. Billy felt as if Dom was his all over again. They fell on the bed and made love to each other for a long time. They were so exhausted at the end that they just fell asleep.
A few hours later, Dom woke up. Billy was still fast asleep. He wanted to keep Billy like that for as ling as possible. He got out of bed and called for one of his thugs. He told him to watch Billy and that if he woke up, to send him back to sleep again.
Dom grabbed his duvet and threw it over himself and ran out the door. It was day.
He ran as fast as he could to the subway to get to the railway station to then get to the plane. With everything under the ground it was easy to be a vampire.
When he got to the airport, Elijah’s plane had just landed. He went to the arrivals to meet his mate.
It didn’t take long for Elijah to get his luggage and leave. When he saw Dom waiting for him, he was filled with sudden joy. He ran up and they hugged. It had been to long. “Dom!”
“Elijah!”
“How are you?”
“Couldn’t be better! You?”
“Fine where’s Bill?”
“Home. Like I said, this is a surprise.”
“Oh yeah.”
“I said I was going out for the day, but since you’re already here, shall we go?”
“OK!” Dom helped Elijah with his suitcase. Lij was slightly surprised to see how easily Dom carried his suitcase. “Been working out?”
“No.” Dom wanted to get back as quickly as possible. Having Elijah around as a possible snack was killing him, but he was already dead, and Elijah would soon be. They caught the train and the subway with no problems. Then it became awkward. It was sunny out, and Dom had to put his duvet over his head to stop him turning to dust. He had an idea. “Want to get there by sewer?” he asked.
“What?” Elijah asked, not really believing his ears.
“Yeah. Sewers. You know. Goes underground. Has water. Good way to get around unnoticed.”
“Oh k…” Elijah said hesitantly, but followed Dom down the drain anyway. When he got down though, Dom was nowhere to be seen. Elijah started to panic. “Dom? Dom where are you?”
No reply.
He turned to climb back up the ladder when two pairs of hands grabbed him by the legs and pulled him off. He fell into the murky water. “What the?” He got back to his feet, ready to fight whoever did that. He was thinking that Billy and Dom were playing a trick on him. But it wasn’t them he saw; two big guys, their faces hidden from the light, were standing in front of him. He feared the worst. “What have you done to Dom?” he cried out. But they said nothing. They advanced on him to direct him away from the ladder. He backed away, trying to turn to run, but he was too afraid to turn away. He tripped over something and fell once again and pushed himself away backwards. The two thugs laughed evilly and pulled him up roughly. He shouted for help but no one came. One ran behind him very quickly and gagged him. The other one held him in place whilst he tied his arms and legs together. Elijah had tears in his eyes. He was going to die, he knew it, but he just didn’t think he would be un-dead. He didn’t believe stories like that. They hauled him up and ran with him under their arms. They were really fast and really strong. What had they done to Dom? Where was Dom?
Then they stopped under a hole. One jumped up and the other passed Elijah up, as if he was a package. They settled him down on a bed and undid his leg bonds. They blocked up the hole and left out the door.
He was alone.
Billy, in another room, was starting to stir. His wrists felt rather cold and he wanted to pull them back under his duvet. He smelt Dom. He tried to move over to stroke him, but he couldn’t. His arm stopped. It wouldn’t go further. He suddenly opened his eyes and saw Dom at his feet, attaching them to the four-poster. “What do you think you’re doing?” he asked angrily and yanking at his wrists, that were also chained to the corners of the bed.
“Surprise that I don’t want you to find.” Was all Dom said. When he finished he just got up from the bed and left.
“Dom! Dom! DOM!!” Billy shouted after him, but he got no reply.
The door shut, Dom leaving Billy to struggle.
Dom left with a smile on his lips. He was going to be very happy. He was in control: Billy in one room and Elijah in another. He wanted them to suffer for a little bit. He didn’t know why, just that he did.
Meanwhile, Elijah wasn’t so happy. Abandoned on a bed in a dark room, bound by the wrists and gagged. He didn’t feel particularly lucky. Why do I have to be famous? He thought to himself. He was thinking he was going to be raped by some mad woman who wanted kids with him. He struggled against his bonds. He managed to un-gag himself just before the doorknob started to rattle. “Who’s there?” he shouted. No one answered. The door opened and a shadow came in. “Who’s there?” he asked again, panic in his voice. He heard someone moving around the room. He continued to pull at his wrists. He caught a glimpse of the form of the shadow. He’d spent two years with that shadow. He’d recognise it anywhere. “Dom?”
The shadow stopped in its tracks and Dom appeared from the shadows.
“You’re OK! Oh Dom, I’m so relieved. Could you help me here buddy?”
Dom said nothing; he just smiled. He sat down next to him and pushed Elijah gently over and climbed over him. “Just relax.” He said. He undid his bonds and leant over to kiss him.
“Dom?”
“Shh. It’ll all be over soon.”
“What?” But he didn’t get an answer. All that Dom did was lean over his bare neck. He pulled Elijah’s head to one side for more biteable neck. He vamped out. Just as he was leaning in for the kill, a loud crash sounded from the next room along, then a loud clunk of chains. Elijah started to freak out more. A slam of a door resounded and then the one in front opened. Billy stood there, vamped out, panting with anger, chains dangling from his wrists and ankles. When he spotted Elijah, he turned back to normal quickly, but was still very annoyed with Dom. Dom got up off Elijah, making sure that his face was back to normal, and walked over to Billy. They went out of the room.
“What the fuck was that Dom?” Billy shouted at him as soon as the door was shut
“It was going to be a surprise.” Dom said quietly.
“Well great surprise Dom!” Billy said sarcastically, “I really love waking up to find that I’ve become part of the furniture.”
“Sorry Bill. I just didn’t want you to know.” Dom was doing his sad face again.
“You could have just told me to go hunting for us or somet!” Billy said, calming down. “Well now that I know, can we have a bit of fun with him, eh? You know, wind him up. He can’t just be turned in a few minutes. That wouldn’t be fair on you.”
“I guess you’re right Bill. It wouldn’t be fair. So what shall we do?”
“Well first take these chains off me, or put them to good use.” He smirked cheekily, “and then I’ll tell you.”
Dom helped his love and Billy told him what they were to do.
Elijah woke up with a sore head. He looked around him. He was in a candle lit room. He was sitting in the middle of a long table with a person at each end. Their faces were covered in shadow. They were having roast dinner. “Pass the gravy, would you William?” one said
“Of course Dominic.” William replied. Elijah noticed that they were wearing old-fashioned clothes, and the room was decorated in a similar manner. He looked closely at them. One was wearing grey, the other brown. They were both wearing hats.
“Pass the spuds would you?”
“Certainly.”
Elijah was very confused. He had no idea where he was or what was happening. Had he gone back in time?
A chandelier above them lit up. He could see their faces. “Dom! Billy!”
They ignored him. “Wine?” Billy asked.
“Please.” Elijah got up and walked over to Dom. He waved one hand in front of his eyes. Nothing. He did the same for Billy and got the same response. He didn’t even blink. “My friends have been hypnotised.” He said exasperated. Then they both smiled at each other and, in a second, were both at Elijah’s side. They circled him a few times, really winding him up. “Could you pass me the salt please William?”
“Sure Dominic.” Billy answered, smiling. Elijah tried to run away, but they caught him. They smiled and vamped out. Elijah had only started to scream in panic when it turned to pain. They had both dived in and were drinking and drinking. After a few seconds, Billy stopped, and had to pry Dom off. He’d got very attached and liked the taste. Dom looked at Billy, confused. Billy shook his head. “Who’s going to feed him? You or me?”
“Can I? You sired me!”
“OK! Give me your neck.” Dom unbuttoned his shirt. Billy took out a penknife and cut Dom just below his neck. “Now hold him up and make sure the blood gets to his lips.” Dom walked over to Elijah and picked him up. Billy came up behind them and put his arms around Dom’s waist. Dom lifted Elijah’s head slowly to where Billy had cut him and rested it there. He felt Elijah drink. Dom looked at Billy and they kissed. Elijah drank faster and faster. Dom pulled his lips off of Billy and slowly pulled Elijah off him. “Whoa boy!” he laid Elijah gently down to rest.
“Shall we?” Billy asked Dom
“Yeah.” They walked arm under arm out of the room, leaving Elijah lying in the middle of the floor, just lying there.
“Nice idea Bill.” Dom said when they were out of the room.
“I know.”
“I like the idea of nicknames. It would be a good idea if we ever get caught, they won’t know our real names.”
“Like what?” Billy asked, listening intently to Dom. He liked it when Dom had ideas.
“William the Bloody?”
“That’s Spike’s nickname from Buffy the vampire slayer!”
“Exactly!”
“So they’d think that James Marsters would be behind it! Or a crazed fan!”
“Yep”
“I like the way you think Dom, my angel!”
“That would be great!”
“What?”
“Angel! Angelus!”
“What about Lij?”
“He’ll make up his mind when he comes to.”
Before they knew it, they were in their room, lying on the bed, undressing each other and kissing passionately.
A few weeks later, after Lij had gotten used to life as a vampire, they were going to put their plan into action.
They walked to the cemetery until they found a group of four adolescents. They crept quietly behind some bushes and prepared themselves.
“Remember what to do?” Billy asked
“Yeah!” The other two replied.
Their plan was to make themselves known, and feared. It was going to be fun.
“Remember to let one go, so he can tell all what he saw.” Billy reminded them.
“I’m having that girl for myself.” Dom said. “I like brunettes.”
“Whatever. Let’s just get on with it.”
Billy was standing next to Dom. He vamped out and kissed him. “See you soon my Angel. Have fun!”
“Of course Spike.” And he vamped out as well.
Lij vamped out to.
Then, they jumped them. Dom’s girl took off with a scream, and Dom ran after her. Billy and Lij landed on some young men and started to drink. Billy looked up to see the last one run into the trees.
“Hey Spike?” Lij said nearly shouting, so that the last one standing could hear.
“Yes Luis?” Billy said, doing likewise.
“Do you know where Angel went?”
“No. Must have chased that girl.”
They looked at each other and listened. They heard the boy’s pace quicken. They tried really hard not to burst into laughter. They got up and Billy patted Lij on the back. “Good job!”
“Wasn’t very tasty though. Must have been on drugs.”
“Oh well. At least it worked. We’ll have to get a newspaper tomorrow.”
“But? The light?”
“I know someone who can get it for us. Not to worry.”
“Shall we go home?”
“Yeah. Dom’ll turn up soon.”
They left, leaving the two bodies glaring on the floor. When they got back, Lij got into bed and Billy waited up for Dom. It was taking too long. It was just a little girl, I mean, she ran away screaming. She couldn’t have been a slayer, could she? Billy shook his head. He was overreacting. Dom’ll be back soon, Billy thought and he went to get ready for bed.

In the cemetery, Dom was feasting happily. He let her go and she fell to the ground. He turned to leave when he saw he was surrounded. “Oh er…”
“Surrender Vampire!” One of the men said. There were about six of them, wearing yellow suits, as if they handling toxic waste. Dom had never seen anything like it. They were holding electro-guns that sparked now and again.
“The name’s Angel!” Dom said, sticking to the plan. “What’s the matter? Afraid of a few vampires?”
The men in yellow came at him.
The first tried to jab him he ducked and knocked him over. Another came, tripped and landed on the first one. Dom got back up to face the four others. Two came at once. He jumped; they ran into each other and electrocuted themselves; they hadn’t expected that.
One guy on the floor picked up his radio, “Send for more to get the other two. One is hard enough.” He spoke into it.
“Oh no!” Dom thought, “Billy! Elijah!”
The last two came up behind Dom, as he was about to run away to find his lovers. They grabbed him by the arms. “Arg!” He struggled to get free as the other four slowly got up. “Got one, over!”
Dom, getting more strength from the thought of losing to some measly humans, struggled harder to get free. He felt cold metal against one of his wrists. “Chain him up lads!” One of the guys said, smiling. But that would be as far as they would get.
Dom finally yanked himself free. He jumped on the guy in front of him and bit him, dragging the guy with the other end of the chain with him. Dom drank deep. He had bitten through the plastic cover, which gave the blood a slightly weird taste, but he wasn’t seeking a meal, he just wanted to kill, and fast.
Before the others could realise what had happened, he got back up and pulled the guy who was on the other end of the chain and used him knock the other four to the ground. Then he broke the chain holder’s neck with a quick twist, tore the other end of the chain from his hands and used it to strangle another one of the men.
One of the remaining three came at him from behind with his electro-gun and pushed it onto Dom’s back. Dom fell to the ground with a groan. They were nearly on him again, when he regained is strength and pulled the nearest one by the head and crushed it into the ground.
The last two were cowering a bit, but still stood there, ready to attack if needed-which they did of course- with their electro-guns.
Dom stood a few feet from them, his last victim bleeding on the ground. He needed to hit two birds with one stone to get the most time he needed.
The chain was still attached to his wrist.
He took it in both hands and ran at them at vampire speed. He walked across a few tombstones and landed behind them, the chain pulling slightly on their necks. He jumped and turned over in mid-air, twisting the chain as he went, squeezing the life out of them. He let go and they fell to the ground.
He started to run.
Their little plan could be trickier than he thought.

Billy was coming out of the bathroom when he heard a crash. The door slammed open. “Dom!” he thought. Then he heard multiple footsteps. “Not Dom.” He said quietly, frowning, “Not alone anyway.” He looked out the doorway and saw a dozen men in bright yellow suits barge into his crypt. He hadn’t seen anything like it, and saw no reason for them to come into his crypt. There hadn’t been any chemical spillage, had there? He watched them go into Lij’s room. Billy wondered what they were doing. Elijah was asleep. Billy heard a loud zap of electricity and really started to wonder. He started to walk out of the bathroom, when the came out again. Lij was standing there, barely awake, bound at the wrists and feet and in a net. He had a burn on the side of his torso. Billy noticed an electro-gun and knew instantly where the burn and zap had come from.
“Find the other one.” One of the men in yellow said and the others ran into other rooms, but in big groups. There were a lot of rooms, so they hadn’t gotten to Billy’s yet. “Billy!” Elijah called.
Most of the other men had gone into rooms, so there were only four around Elijah. He thought he could manage them. He vamped out and ran out into the hall.
“Billy! No!” Elijah called in fear.
Billy, as soon as he got out of the room, had been shot in the back, by a very strong tranquilizer dart. Elijah called to him as he slowly fell to the ground and lay there motionless. “BILLY!!”
Two men went over to Billy and heaved him up.
Dom ran
Chains went around Billy’s wrists.
Dom still ran, faster and faster.
They picked Billy up and slapped him, but he didn’t move.
“Dom!”
Dom swerved the first shot at him and broke the nearest guy’s arm. Another came at him, and before he knew it, had his neck broken. Two men were holding Billy, four were holding Elijah, and two were down. Four were approaching fast. He swerved, hit, kicked over, swerved again, punched one in the nose-another two down- elbowed one so hard in the ribs that they broke and pierced a lung and other delicates. The chain still dangled from his wrist. He swung it at the last guy and knocked the electro-gun from his hands. Then swung it at his neck and yanked it tight. The last one fell dead.
The two that were holding Billy up ran over, letting Billy fall motionless to the floor. One of the men had a crossbow and loaded it. The other came strait at Dom. Dom grabbed him and threw him at the ceiling. He landed with a thud and he fell unconscious. Dom looked back up and a stake flew right past his ear. “I’m a good shot.” The man who shot at Dom said. This guy was braver. He wasn’t wearing a stupid yellow protective suit, just black clothes and a black roll-neck jumper. “That other vampire never had a chance.” He nodded towards Billy, who was slowly coming to. Two of the men holding Elijah, ran to where Billy was. They yanked him up. Billy groaned.
“Memo to self, need stronger tranquilizers.” The man in black said to himself whilst looking up at Dom, smirking and still pointing his crossbow at Dom, “Now see this little trick I’ve learnt.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out another crossbow, ready loaded, and pointed it at Billy’s heart. “I can shoot one, whilst aiming another, accurately.” He told Dom. “Want me to show you?” He tightened his trigger finger on the crossbow that was pointing at Billy. “I’ve heard you’re in love. How weird.” He turned towards Billy, who was struggling against his bonds and his captors.
“No!” Dom shouted and ran at him. The crossbow aimed at his heart released its arrow. It hit Dom, but missed the heart. Dom vamped out and kept on running at him, and before he had time to reload, he was dead.
The other men became very afraid. There were only four left, who were all cowards, and all they had to do was hold the weaker vampires, just in case.
“Well?” Dom asked
The men looked at each other. Then as quickly as they came, they left. “And stay out!” Dom said as he slammed the door behind them.
Then he ran over to his lovers. Billy had fallen down to the floor again and was moaning loudly, and Elijah was barely standing up and his burn was bleeding slightly. Dom was torn. He didn’t know whom to comfort first.
He went over to Billy, pulled the dart out of his back, and pulled him up to his feet, yanked his chains apart and pulled one arm over his shoulder, then dragged him over to where Elijah was sitting. He had collapsed onto the floor, the net and chains still on him. Dom sat Billy down leaning against the wall, and helped Lij out of his bonds. He lifted the net up and kissed him. Billy seemed to drift in and out of consciousness. Dom pulled himself over to him and kissed Billy as well. Elijah used his last bit of energy and pulled himself to the wall as well.
And there they sat, and slowly fell asleep.
The next morning, Billy still hadn’t recovered completely, but it was better then last night. He got himself up and went to the spare room, which had the grate to get to the sewers. He lifted the grate and let himself drop down. He heard a tinkle of metal and wondered what it was. Oh yeah, he remembered, the chains from last night. They were slightly too tight, he’d get rid of them when he got back. He stood up and went off to find the friend of his who could go out into the light. There he was. “Got it?” Billy asked with a croaky voice.
“Yeah. Here. Have you got a hangover?” the guy asked.
“Nah, got into a bit of a fight yesterday.”
“Oh. Ok. Well, um see ya Bill.”
“Yeah.” And that was that. Billy went back up to the crypt and sat at a table and put the newspaper on it. He was about to go and find the screwdriver when the front-page story caught his eye. It had worked. “CRAZED VAMPIRE FANS ATTACK TEENS”
“Dom! Lij! Come look!” Dom and Lij came sleepily into the room, Elijah’s chains in the same state as Billy’s. Elijah took the screwdriver from Dom and started to undo the bolt on one side of his wrist. “What’s up Bill?” he asked
“Paper. We’re on the cover!” Billy read out the story
“Last night, around 10 PM, four teens were attacked in a nearby cemetery by three people claiming to be vampires. “They called themselves Angel, Spike and Luis.” Our witness claims. “They came out of nowhere and bit us.” He is still in shock, but doesn’t appear to be hurt, unlike his three friends. Two were found and claimed dead. The last one, a young girl, has yet to be found.”
“What did you do with her Dom?” Billy asked
“Can’t remember. Got attacked. They could have hauled her away with the other dead weirdoes.”
“Do you have any idea who they are?” Lij asked as he started on the second cuff.
“No.” Dom said, “How did they know where we were and all. Have you guys told anybody?” He asked cautiously.
“No!” They said in unison.
“Well, we are feared now anyway!” Billy said pointing to the bottom of the page. “They’ve given phone numbers and everything.”
“Wicked!” Dom said. He put one arm around Billy and one around Elijah, and kissed them both. Elijah finally handed the screwdriver over to Billy and he took his cuffs off in a few seconds. Elijah looked at him, stupefied. “What?” Billy asked.
“How did you do that?”
“Habit.” Billy said looking to Dom. “Hey Dom?”
“Wha?” Dom replied halfway through another kiss with Elijah.
“Which one of us do you prefer?”
Oh crud, Dom wished Billy hadn’t said that. Those kinds of questions never ended well. “I don’t know. I love you both.” He hoped that would end it there.
“You must have a favourite.” Elijah said, looking deep into his eyes. “Me?”
“Or me?” Billy asked pulling Dom towards him. Dom couldn’t resist those eyes. But he didn’t want a war to break out. Next they’d ask him to take sides, which is definitely not good.
“You’ve been with me longer Dom” Billy said, “Remember all that time up Treebeard? That must mean you like me more.” He said, pouting slightly.
“But you went to Japan with me, and spent a long time at my beach house.” Elijah said.
“I like you both the same” He said, but it wouldn’t stop. They attacked at each other now. “And so the cat-fight begins” Dom said quietly to himself and sighed.
“He likes my filtrum!”
“He likes my ability to fall down stairs!”
“He can name 17 things he likes about me and told everyone!”
“I bet he could do the same for me!”
“But he hasn’t!”
“No but he would! Wouldn’t you Dom?”
“I…”
“Yeah but you have to ask him!”
“But I...” Dom tried to get in, but failed.
“You came up with the idea in the first place!” Elijah called back
Dom had had enough. “Fine! Whatever!” he shouted. “You sort yourselves out. I’ll have no part in this. I’m off out!” and he left.
Billy and Elijah looked at each other. They heard the door slam. They burst into a fit of giggles and went over to hug each other. “It worked! It really worked!”
“I was sure that it would!” Lij said.
“Well I do know Dom well.”
“Let’s not continue.”
“Fine. He should have arrived by now. And now that he’s out of the house, it’ll be a lot easier.”
“Yeah.” Lij said and they left the room.
* * * * * * * * * * *
A few hours later, Dom came back to an empty crypt. “Hello?” He walked into a room and turned on the light. The room was a disaster area. He saw the furniture was broken and there were bloodstains around the room. He could tell of three distinct smells of blood. Billy’s, Elijah’s and one he didn’t recognise, but took for an evening catch. He walked into the centre of the disaster area and stood on something. “Oops.” He picked up what it was he stood on and recognised it immediately: Elijah’s one ring. The one Peter had given him at the end of shooting. He never took it off; the chain wasn’t even broken. What was it doing in that pile of dust and ashes? Then he realised. No it couldn’t have been, he thought panicking, no. He scooped up the pile of ashes and lifted it to his nose and smelt it. Elijah!
“No!” Dom cried. “I shouldn’t of left you by yourself with Billy after those arguments. He’s much stronger than you. I can’t believe he did this.” He babbled. He looked around for more clues. A broken chair leg (The stake that did the deed), a puddle of clear liquid (holy water, so he did defend himself. Go Lij!), a patch of blood (That meal never had a chance.), and a puddle of blood (Lij banged his head here.). He also noticed the chains were gone from the wall where they hung. “What were they up to?”
Some bits didn’t add up. Who’s heavy enough to break the table by landing on it? The dust marks where the body had landed were just too long.
He walked back to the pile of Elijah’s ashes and felt both angry and sad at the same time. He took a vase from a nearby shelf and poured Elijah in. He sat down where his friend used to be and collapsed into tears. “Why? Why? Why? Why did I leave? Why did this have to happen? I need him back!”
He heard someone come up the stairs from the dungeon. What was anyone doing in the dungeon? He looked out. It was Billy, topless. He had a bad burn on one side of his face and had cuts and bruises on the rest of his body. His arm had been bandaged up a bit. He turned and saw Dom peering from the corner of the room. “Dom!” Billy shut the door behind him and came over. “Dom, I’m so sorry. I…” But Dom cut in.
“I can’t believe you did this. I mean, what has Elijah ever done to you?”
He stole you from me; Billy thought then realised what Dom was shouting about. “What?”
“Don’t you what me. You know exactly what you’ve done!”
Billy started to giggle. “You think I…”
“What is so funny?” Dom yelled and got up. “Elijah is dead!” He got up off the floor and shoved Elijah’s ashes into Billy’s hands. “For good.” He strode out of the room.
Billy now saw how hurt Dom was “Dom wait!”
“For your information, William,” he said his name so harshly that Billy got a tear in his eye, “we aren’t speaking anymore!” He slammed the door behind him.
Billy fell to the floor crying. “I don’t want to lose you. You don’t understand! It wasn’t me!”
Outside, Dom was resting against the door. Then pounding on it now and then out of frustration, and swearing.
Then he decided where to go. He had a long journey to do, and finish before sunrise. And so he ran off into the night. “Hang on!” he said and quickly doubled back and ran into the crypt where Billy was still crying. “Dom?” Billy said hopefully amongst tears and sniffles, but Dom ignored him and grabbed up Elijah. He ran back out again and didn’t stop all night.

* * * * * * * * * * *
