TITLE: Safety Dance – Men Without Hobbit Feet

From the Journals of Sean Astin:
Saturday the seventeenth
Number of days where farts are the funniest thing my coworkers comprehend - 1!
3 am – Turns out that Christine is allergic to NZ curry. She’s up all night sick. Won’t go into details as Christine says ‘if you write down the details in your f***ing diary I WILL KILL YOU.’ Think she means business.
5:45 – done disinfecting house. Phillippa is sending over a girlfriend to watch daughter while I go to work and Christine gets some rest. Short filming day, thankfully. I need a nap.
6:08 – Elijah playing really horrible music in trailer during ‘feet’ process. Dom approves. Billy appears unconscious. Am too tired to check Scot’s vital signs.
6:10 – bless him, Sir Ian bangs on wall and shouts that if it doesn’t get quiet he’s going to ‘out’ a certain couple with his very big Gandalf staff.
7:02 – trip to set canteen. Eggs are too cold. Add another sterno can and look for thermometer. Staff always seems to disappear when I’m around. Join Billy in sensible bowl of oatmeal, which he insists on calling ‘porridge’.
7:05 – Liv Tyler sweeps by showing off her insane beauty at this early hour. Must remember poor Christine hunched over toilet all night.
7: 11 – Orlando Bloom dry-humping Liv against Sean Bean’s backside. Liv is laughing hysterically. Sean Bean clearly enjoying self. Am disgusted. Need to call wife.
7:20 – Viggo wants to show me his latest photographs. Most look like a darkroom accident. I must not be sufficient connoisseur of fine art. Am surprised to find a couple pictures of naked Orlando Bloom. Viggo says ‘oops!’ Am starting to suspect that those two see each other occasionally off set.
7:21 – ask Viggo if I can borrow one of his spoken- word CDs. Plan to play it in the ‘feet’ trailer Monday morning. THAT will shut Elijah up!
7:31 – call to set for filming.
7:32 – first not-at-all-funny fart of the day, thanks to Billy.
