Summary: Viggo tries to share his love of the outdoors with Elijah, but Elijah just wants to share the love.
Author's Notes: This is a little ficcy that Ems and I wrote to be in the Mundane series, but it got out of hand and grew into something that stands on its own. Happy Birthday to my co-writer [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]!!! I love you, babe!

The break of dawn awoke Viggo as it often did, and he snuck out of the comfortable bedroll. A few deep breaths and some stretching later, he donned his fishing gear, grabbed his tackle box and headed for the river. In about five minutes, he settled comfortably into the middle of the water and threw out his line.

Although Elijah did wake when Viggo left, he turned over resolutely and hid under the sleeping bag until his phone alarm sounded, waking him. Getting up and dressed and after a few false starts, Elijah managed to make pancakes with fresh fruit for breakfast and packed them up including a flask of hot chocolate before heading down to the river.

By this time, Viggo had caught and thrown back several fish. He smiled when he saw Elijah approach and carefully waded out of the water. “Good morning, love.”

“Morning, babe...” Elijah smiled up at Viggo, putting down their basket of breakfast before throwing a towel at Viggo. “Come and get it while it’s still warm, love.”

“What’s the towel for?” Viggo asked with a laugh. He tossed off the waders and pulled Elijah up in a kiss.

Elijah kissed back, wrapping his arms around Viggo and smiling. “Your hands are wet.”

“Silly.” He took the towel and carefully wiped off his hands. “How did you sleep?”

“I slept... better when you where there, but ok all around.” He opened the basket and passed Viggo his breakfast.

“Mmm, smells wonderful. My own little homemaker.” He took a bite and ate it happily. “Wonderful.”

“Oh good!! You know it’s harder than it looks... no way to control the temperature and everything... took a while until I got it right...”

“I’m proud of you, Elijah.” He took another bite of pancake. “So, are you ready to try your hand at fishing afterward?”

Elijah eyed the river, lips pressed together as he poured Viggo a mug of chocolate. “I... I don’t know...”

“Why not?” Viggo asked, kissing his cheek and then taking a deep slurp of chocolate.

“I... I think I’d get a little cold?”

Viggo frowned very slightly and looked at the water and then Elijah. “Are you sure that’s all?”

“Um... well... to be completely honest? I hate the idea of touching... live fish.” He shivered a little and shook his head. “Bad I think.”

“Its not bad at all,” Viggo said with a smile. “Actually, they’re amazing.”

“You sure?” Elijah looked very uncertain.

“We won’t even hurt them, really. We’ll just let them go when we’re done.”

“Why- why catch them if you’re just going to let them go?” Elijah cocked his head to the side as he asked what seemed a very sensible question.

“For the fun of the experience,” Viggo said with a little smile. “Why do you play baseball or climb a mountain? Why do people watch movies? It doesn’t seem logical to spend hours watching other people do things.”

“Who ever said people where logical? And if they did... it’s a lie!” Elijah grinned and kissed Viggo, licking some syrup from the corner of his mouth.

“Yes, I rather think we are a nice example of being completely illogical.” He licked Elijah back and then pulled him closer, using the possessive grip on his ass.

Elijah wriggled against Viggo and whispered, “Tease,” before attaching their lips together for a much longer, deeper kiss.

Viggo sighed deeply when they parted mouths and smiled. “What do you think- fishing?”

“Don’t know... I don’t think I have the right equipment...” He nodded at Viggo’s waders.

“What, you think I didn’t plan on this contingency?” Viggo looked offended, but with a wry smile in his eyes.

“I forgot... my own personal boy scout!” He giggled.

“Man scout,” Viggo corrected. He pulled out a small pair of waders from his pack. “I had to get you a women’s pair.”

Elijah’s hand settled on his hips and he looked at Viggo. “And you want me to wear them knowing that?”

Viggo grinned at him and held them out. “Don’t be touchy. I love all of you, including your size.”

Elijah still huffed, “But I’m not a GIRL! I don’t wanna wear girl’s clothes.” He even quivered his lower lip at Viggo.

“Its not women’s clothes,” Viggo said patiently, reaching out to pull Elijah to his side. “Waders are the same for everyone. These are just a bit shorter.”

Elijah’s lip kept quivering, but he snuggled into Viggo’s side. “Promise? No... No pink flowers or anything like that?”

“Your views of women are a bit skewed, lover. Nobody wears waders with little pink flowers.” Viggo held up the waders and then kissed him gently.

“My... my Mum got me rain boots... when I was... oh... thirteen? The only ones they fit me were girl ones... they were blue with little pink flowers.”

Viggo tried and failed to hide his amusement. He covered his smile with one hand, before kissing Elijah in apology. “You were only thirteen, my love. At thirteen, everyone wears stupid things.”

“Do you know what it does to a thirteen year old’s pride to wear blue and pink rain boots all winter?”

“Anything I can do to help that flagging ego?” Viggo purred, hands returning to rest on his lover. He twisted his head to kiss a vulnerable patch of neck, just below an ear.

Elijah shivered and pressed a little closer, purring in the back of his throat in pleasure. “Oh... maybe one or two things?”

“How about I teach you how to fish?” Viggo asked, sucking on his lobe.

Elijah sighed at the sensation, not really aware of what Viggo was saying. “Ohhh... ok.”

Smiling, Viggo kept on sucking for a long moment and then released his lover. “Well, good, let’s get you ready then!”

“Why?” Elijah shook his head to clear it and frowned just slightly. “Get me ready? Ready for what?”

“Fishing!” Viggo held up the waders. “You said you wanted me to teach you to fish!”

“Fishing? I don’t remember agreeing to fish!” Elijah looked confused.

“A few moments ago... while I was sucking your eardrum...” Viggo had the decency to look slightly sheepish.

Elijah glared at Viggo. “I thought we agreed that you weren’t going to do that to me anymore?”

“I thought that only had to do with-” He gestured toward Elijah’s stomach. Once or twice (well, possibly a lot more often), he had manipulated Elijah by stroking his stomach idly while talking him into something.

“You are a bad, bad man!” Elijah very softly swatted Viggo’s nose with two fingers.

“Me?” Viggo tried to look innocent, but his twinkle gave it away.

Elijah did it again before shaking his head and laughing. “Ok! Ok! We’ll try fishing.”

“Good! I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!” Viggo set the waders beside him. “Now, let’s finish this breakfast and get going!”

Elijah did not agree, but he did not disagree, just finished off his breakfast. “You are a bad man.”

“That’s why you love me.” Viggo grinned and then polished off the seconds Elijah brought.

“Is it?” Elijah grinned. “I can think of other reasons I might feel that way... can’t you?”

“Well, I hope so. I never cease to think of new reasons I love you.” Viggo touched Elijah’s cheek.

Elijah melted, emotionally and physically against Viggo, pressing a kiss to the fingers that had caressed his cheek. “I love you.”

“Good, cause I’d be lost without you. Now, let’s go fishing.”

“Fishing...” Elijah pressed his lips together as he pulled away from Viggo, packing up their dishes in the basket and then taking a deep breath. “Ok, fishing...”

Viggo hesitated, his face soft in the morning light. “You really don’t have to, you know. I just thought...” He looked appealingly at his lover.

“I said I’d try it didn’t I?” Elijah smiled at Viggo. “So... what do I have to do?”

“You have to start with the waders,” Viggo reminded him with a wink. “Take off your shoes and step right in. The boots are a bit awkward on land, but perfect in the water.”

Elijah did just as he was told, finding the boots off, but as Viggo said, much easier once he was in the water. Making his way over to Viggo’s position, Elijah asked softly, “Ok Professor, what now?”

Viggo offered the rod and reel to Elijah. “I’ll help you cast. Easy motions, easy motions.” He held Elijah’s hands in his own and helped him sway and then cast. “Oh, look at that, a natural already.”

“I think that was a little more you than me, lover mine...” Elijah twined their fingers together, “So... what now?”

“Now we keep casting and keep casting until you get a bite.” He helped Elijah again, pressing his body firmly to his lover’s.

“Um... casting again? Is... Is there even like.... fish here?” Elijah started to try and make the throwing motion again, not sure if he was doing it at all right.

“It’s a part of the process... trust me,” he whispered the last words in Elijah’s ears, gentle and with a soft appeal. He helped cast again.

“I do.” Sighing, he leant against Viggo and let his lover move their hairs correctly. “This is so odd.”

Suddenly, there was a tug on the line. “You’ve got one! Reel him in! Reel him in, Elijah!”

Elijah glanced at Viggo just once before he looked down at the rod, asking, “Um... how??” He had never even held a fishing rod before.

Viggo chuckled and then began to help Elijah reel and release, reel and release. “You’ll get him, Elijah. Just take it easy. Can you feel him pull?”

“I can... it’s kinda stronger than I thought a fish would be...” He looked up at Viggo with a grin. “And how do you know it’s a him?”

“You only seem to like males,” Viggo said with a slight wink.

Elijah laughed, shaking against Viggo as they kept reeling the fish in. “What- what size would it be?”

“You seem to have caught a big boy. Keep on reeling, love.” He helped pull the fish closer, 'til suddenly it jumped out of the water nearby.

Elijah jumped and almost dropped the rod. “Fuck!”

Viggo caught the dropped reel and with a few more practiced moves landed the fish. “Look at what you caught, Elijah.” He knelt a little and kept the fish in the water.

Elijah looked through the water to the fish, hands by his side as he studied the animal. “Um... it’s bigger than I thought it would be.”

“Isn’t he lovely?” Viggo asked softly. “Look at his scales, the colors.” He gently undid the fishing hook and let the fish go.

Elijah watched for a moment before the fish was out of sight, asking, “So you catch them... look at them... and then let them go?”

“Unless I’m really hungry and want one for dinner. Even then... well, I usually have a lot of granola with me.”

“Oh yes... you’re the strangest person I’ve ever met... hobbits, elves and orcs included.” Elijah was nodding firmly. “Why go on a fishing trip and eat granola? You could do that at home.”

“I could go on a fishing trip at home? Are we building a fish pond in the backyard?” He sighed and shook his head. “All right, I can see this is not for you. And for your information, it’s a very common practice, catch and release.”

Elijah shook his head. “I can get... releasing the fish... you don’t want to eat or something like that... I mean waste not and all that... but why catch them if you’re not going to eat them?”

“Because fishing is fun. It’s lovely to stand in the water and just cast your line. You don’t even need to catch anything.” Viggo sighed and looked at Elijah. “It makes just as much sense as burning out your eyeballs playing video games.”

“And I guess I understand that as much as you understand my love of video games...” He sighed and leant against Viggo, before saying softly, “I am glad you have something that relaxes you and all... I just don’t think I’m gonna get it.”

Scooping Elijah close, Viggo pressed a soft kiss to his lips. “Scat, brat. Go do whatever you planned to do while I communed with nature.”

Elijah kissed Viggo softly, before asking suddenly, “Still gonna make me a fish dinner?” and fled from the water laughing.

Viggo snorted at him and splashed water in his direction as he ran. He quickly got back in the flow of fishing and spent most of the afternoon in the river. When he felt the sun beginning to set, he carried his reel and a couple large fish to shore. “Elijah!?”

Elijah had spent his day reading, exploring the area around their camp, even taking a brief nap, as well as collecting more wood for their fire. He heated up their leftover dinner as well as adding a salad that he took down to Viggo. They chatted briefly, but he could see that Viggo wanted to get back to his fishing so he did not linger long, going back to his book with no small pleasure.

It was starting to get a little dark for reading when he heard Viggo’s voice and smiled. “Yes? I’m by the fire.”

Viggo walked back to the campsite, carrying the fish. He smiled when he saw how comfortably Elijah had himself arranged. “So, do you want me to scale and gut them here?”

Elijah looked at Viggo, going a little pale at the very idea and swallowing several times. “Um.... please... not... nowhere I... I can see?”

“That’s pretty much what I figured. Will you put some butter in the frying pan and get it ready?” Viggo headed out of sight, after setting down his basket and reel.

“Thank you...” Elijah called out softly as he got untangled from his little nest of things and prepared the pan as asked, also putting the pot of pealed potatoes over the fire.

After quietly disposing of the remains, Viggo brought the fish over to the pan. “Still think I can’t provide you with a meal?” He set the fish in the pan and began to fry them.

“I never said that!” Elijah looked up at Viggo. “Are boiled potatoes and salad ok to go with the fish?” He asked softly, a little embarrassed at his own squeamishness.

“They’re perfect... so are you.” Viggo got distracted from his cooking for a moment as he kissed Elijah for a long moment, with a swipe or two of his tongue.

“Don’t distract me love... or we’re not going to have any dinner.” He took a step away, watching Viggo cook.

“Aw, I was enjoying myself.” Viggo turned his attention to dinner. “What shall we drink?”

“Want a beer?” Elijah was pretty sure that all the Brits he knew claimed that it was the best thing with fried fish.

“Beer?” He glanced at Elijah with deep amusement. “Are you trying to get me drunk?”

“Do I need to?” Elijah flashed him a grin. “Billy and Bean swear that beer is required for fried fish.”

“Not beer, lover, they prefer stout. Something stronger than beer. Whatever we’ve got will be perfect.” Viggo put some more of their butter over the fish.

Elijah came back with two cans of Coke, grinning rather bashfully.

A little growl escaped Viggo at the sight of the shy smile. “Come down here and kiss me again. I won’t let the fish burn.”

Elijah did wonder what had Viggo growling but he happily moved around to Viggo’s arms again and kissed him deeply, whispering, “Love you,” into their kiss.

“It’s ridiculous... when you look shy or bashful or even a little silly, you make me so hot I could set fire to the forest.”

“Me being shy... makes you hot?” He grinned just a little, but ducked his head, hiding his eyes behind his hair.

“Stop that,” Viggo growled, but there was more than a hint of lust beneath the words.

“Stop what?” Elijah looked at him through his bangs.

“The innocent look, the bashfulness, the little kid lost look that is so not you, and yet makes my engine rev like a race car.” Viggo managed to say all that in one breath and then kiss him again at the end. “I may just eat you for dinner.”

Elijah laughed and kissed Viggo before saying, “Dessert love... with lots and lots of cream.”

“I better get our main course ready then.” Viggo held Lij in his lap with one arm and began to tend to the fish with the other. “You smell like chocolate. Did you bring a stash?”

“How else do you think you got hot chocolate with breakfast, love?” Elijah grinned at him before checking the potatoes. “They need a few more minutes.”

“So does the fish. This is going to be the best fish you ever tasted. Tomorrow, I’ll make you some of my world famous trail jambalaya and we’ll hike out to the waterfalls.”

“As long as it doesn’t have road kill in it...” Elijah grinned and moved away, getting ready for dinner by cleaning up his reading nest.

Viggo sighed as Elijah moved away. He knew his addiction for his young lover ran deep, but he loved feeding the habit. “Ah, these are perfect.” He heaped equal portions on his and Elijah’s plates.

Serving them both some salad, Elijah checked the potatoes and grinned, serving them and dolloping some butter on each serving. “Smells wonderful, Vig.”

“Thank you. And thanks to the fish who gave their lives for this meal.” He nodded to the meat and then took a bite. “Not bad, if I do brag myself.”

Elijah cut into a piece and chewed it slowly, giving Viggo a huge grin. “This is the best fish I ever tasted!”

“Then I did it right. And give thanks to them, too.” He smiled sweetly at Elijah. “I’m sorry I abandoned you to yourself today.”

“Thanks fish?” Elijah felt a little silly but said it anyway. “It’s ok, love... I read my book and looked around some and generally enjoyed myself. I missed you, but it was a good day.”

“You could have fetched me, you know. There’s nothing more important I could be doing than being with you, if you want me.”

“Viggo, love? Even on our holiday, we don’t have to spend every moment together. I enjoyed my day, you did yours... and we’re doubly glad to be together now, I don’t see any bad here.”

“I was just saying,” Viggo said with his own little bashful grin.

“I won’t let you outta my sight tomorrow... make you feel better?” Elijah fell to eating his dinner, moaning in pleasure.

Viggo nodded his agreement and fell to the task of devouring his own food, which dwindled to only a few trace bones here and there. “Tomorrow, I’ll put a leash on you.”

Elijah looked at him, eyes widening and then he said very clearly, “Oh no you will not.”

Dimples appeared with a deep smile. “I don’t think it’s wise to let you wander off without a leash.”

“If anyone needs a leash it’s you, Viggo! Mister Breaks-alot!” Elijah snorted at Viggo.

“Breaks-alot?” Viggo inquired curiously, his left eyebrow rising into his bangs.

“Teeth... feet... stunties... Orli’s forehead... need I continue? Bean? Or at least you tried.”

“But I don’t manage to get lost on set,” Viggo replied sweetly.

“Neither have I!” Elijah’s voice was indignant. “That was Dom.”

Viggo paused for a long moment and then coughed a little. “That was ah- Dom?”

“Yes... the hobbit that got lost on set was DOM , not me... I my not be able to tramp around the bush and all... but I don’t get lost on set.”

Viggo coughed again and then looked at the sky. “Well, that might explain why he freaked out so much when I goosed him.”

Elijah stared at him in disbelief for long moments. “You goosed Dominic?”

A big, goofy grin spread across Viggo’s face. “Kinda gave him a nice feel up, too.”

“Viggo Mortensen!!!” Elijah shook his head, before bursting into laughter.

“I wondered why you reacted so violently. It was very unlike you, but I thought you must think I was someone else. Instead, you were not yourself.” Viggo laughed again, thinking of how startled Dom must have been. “I guess I owe him an apology.”

Elijah studied his lover’s expression for several long moments before nodding. “That might be a good idea, love... although... maybe he’s better off not knowing it was you. Maybe we are too...”

Viggo covered his eyes with a hand. “Sexual harassment... I’m a low, low creature.” He hung his head.

Elijah giggled, shaking his head and kissing his lover softly. “Poor baby.”

“You think I scarred Dom for life?” he asked in a very little voice, though his eyes were a bit wicked.

Elijah looked very thoughtful, considering the question seriously, before saying, “In my considered opinion.... NO!!!” and he started laughing.

Viggo laughed with him and then hugged him tightly. “So, you don’t get lost on set, and you don’t kill people with swords. Do you have any faults at all, Mister Wood?”

“Dozens... you just haven’t named any of them.” Resting against Viggo for a moment, Elijah asked suddenly, “Want some hot chocolate?”

“Yes, reminds me of kissing you, and I never say no to that.” Viggo kissed him sweetly. “See?”

“Hot chocolate reminds you of kissing me?” Elijah asked softly as he moved to the fire and started heating up some of the hot chocolate he had been drinking. “Why?”

“Because that is one of the flavors I relate to your taste.” He watched Elijah heat their drinks. “You drink gallons in cold weather.

“It keeps me warm... and it’s so much nicer than coffee!” He sighed as the liquid started to warm up. “Don’t you think?”

“Once in a long while, but usually only about you,” Viggo said with a little grin.

Elijah laughed, shaking his head. “Bad Viggo!” He still giggled as he asked, “Vig, can you get the marshmallows from the food?”

Viggo eyed their food stores and then went to ruffle through them. Suddenly, he stopped and seemed to stare in wonder. “Elijah, how long did you think we were going to be here?”

Elijah laughed and started listing off the different use for marshmallows, finishing with, “And we’ve already gone through a pack... so don’t complain.”

“You went through a pack already!? I thought your drug of choice was caffeine, not marshmallows!” He pulled out the five packs in the box and waved them around.

“You helped, love... breakfast and lunch... both had them.” He smiled sweetly at Viggo.

Viggo tossed him a pack. “I don’t think you trying to make me a junkie is something to celebrate.”

“A junkie?” Elijah poured their drinks, adding the soft white sweets generously and sighing happily. “A marshmallow junkie?”

“Look at you... tell me you’re not a marshmallow junkie! A pack a day marshmallow junkie!”

Elijah looked up at Viggo and just started laughing.

Viggo’s laugh echoed with his and bounced off the trees surrounding their campsite. “I guess I found your sin after all.”

Once he could answer, Elijah commented softly, “I hope that’s the worst of them.”

“Actually, I think your addiction to me is far worse than any marshmallow needs.” He scooted over to tickle the back of Elijah’s neck with rough fingers.

“But...” Elijah wondered, “is that a sinful addiction?”

“Depends on who you ask. As far as I’m concerned it’s very natural. Who can help but be addicted to me?” He placed a hand on his chest and fluttered his eyelashes at Elijah.

Elijah threw a marshmallow into Viggo’s mouth. “And he scores!!!”

Viggo chewed and swallowed before lifting an eyebrow at Elijah. “Not with me, you don’t.”

“Viggo, love... I can’t help but be addicted to you... that doesn’t mean I want other people to be too... you’re MINE!” His tone was very firm and possessive.

A little laugh escaped Viggo, and he stretched out near the fire. “Oh, I am, am I? And how do you intend to make sure I stay yours?”

Elijah considered his options for several moments, pushing himself up onto all fours as he did so, before pouncing on Viggo, and pressing kisses all over Viggo’s face. “Well I’m not gonna brand you... but a collar and leash should work.”

“Now you’re going to put the collar on me,” Viggo said sardonically. He leaned back and passively allowed Elijah to kiss him.

Elijah started pressing soft nibbling kisses to Viggo’s neck. “A collar of kisses?” And he moved his kisses around Viggo’s throat.

“Mmmm, that I can abide with no complaint.” Viggo tilted his head back even more invitingly.

Elijah did his very best to kiss every inch of skin he could find, whispering softly that he loved Viggo after ever kiss.

“I think your water is boiling over,” Viggo mumbled rather dizzily, enjoying his rather enthusiastic lover’s ministrations.

“Water? I haven’t got any water on the boil...” He did glance towards the fire though and checked, no the hot chocolate pot was well away from the fire.

“Maybe it’s my blood then,” Viggo said. “Where’s the hot chocolate you promised me anyway?”

“In your mug...” Elijah grinned and got the mug and passed it to Viggo. “There you go.”

Viggo sipped very carefully. “Whew, you are a powerful narcotic.”

“Me?” Elijah looked at Viggo with huge eyes. “Never!”

“Oh yes you are, my lover. Good thing I can resist.” He laughed at his own lie.”

Now Elijah did laugh at Viggo. “Yeah, right! You can resist me? You can resist me as much I as I can you!”

“Well, at least it’s an even complete lack of control,” Viggo said somewhat forlornly.

Elijah nodded. “Mutual need. Much nicer than unrequited.”

“An even relationship,” Viggo said satisfactorily. “Hallelujah.”

Elijah smiled and pressed another soft kiss to Viggo’s neck. “Perfect.”

“What would you think of doing some stargazing tonight before bed?” Viggo asked, rubbing Elijah’s back.

“Will you teach me the constellations? Do you know them here? I know they are different from the ones we see at home.” Elijah snuggled into Viggo’s chest happily.

“I don’t know them all, but I can teach you the ones I have learned. I even brought something special for you. A little gift.” Viggo grinned and pointed at his pack. “If you would just fetch that for me.”

“You mean move from my comfortable position?” Elijah sighed and kissed Viggo before going to get the bag as quickly as he could, snuggling back into Viggo’s chest with a happy little noise.

Viggo laughed at his lazy lover and then pulled a wrapped tube from the bag. “Here, open.”

Elijah looked at Viggo curiously, brushing a kiss over his lips for a moment before unwrapping the object, turning it around his hands. “Is... is that... is this a telescope?”

“Just a small one, but powerful enough to gaze at the stars... or your neighbors, if you want. Do you like it?”

Elijah grinned. “Can I use it to watch you?” And in answer to the question kissed Viggo long and deeply. “Yes.”

“You already have a close up view of me. No, we’re going to use this to gaze at the heavens and marvel at them.” He pointed up at the sky. “Why don’t you see if you can find the Big Dipper?”

Elijah wriggled around so he could see the sky and pointed to it. “That’s the only one I do know.”

“Excellent. Now, do you see the top star in the cup of the Big Dipper?” He pointed to the star, trying to show it to him.

Elijah looked carefully, head tilting this way and that, before he confessed softly, “No.”

Viggo laughed a little and took Elijah’s hand with his own to point it toward the star. “There.”

Elijah tried to see what was being pointed out to him and eventually, made out the star. “I think I see it.”

“Good. Now, trace the root I make with my hand to the North Star.”

Elijah moved so he was aligned with Viggo’s pointing hand and nodded. “I can see that.”

“That’s the star called Polaris which lost travelers used to guide them when all other ways failed. Do you see the Little Dipper that the North Star is the end of the handle for?”

Elijah squinted a bit before nodding. “I... I think... maybe just a little?”

“And the North Star makes an arrow with Cassiopeia.”

Elijah nibbled on his lip for several moments saying, “Cassiopeia?”

“The stars form a kind of W.” Viggo let his fingers flow over the pattern of the stars. “Cassiopeia was the mother of Andromeda, who was saved from a sea monster by the great hero Perseus. Its one of my favorite set of stars.”

Elijah sighed softly and twisted around so he was looking at Viggo, and asked softly, “Wanna know which star is my favorite?”

“Which star?” Viggo asked with a sweet smile and a little nip at Elijah’s nose.

“You.” Elijah whispered before kissing Viggo with as much gentle love as he could.

Viggo kissed back and then pulled Elijah to him, hands sliding down over his rear. He cupped and squeezed, adding a few little swipes of tongue to the kiss.

Elijah moaned softly, but he resisted the desire that was pooling low in his body, and just let himself enjoy kissing his love.

“Shall we keep stargazing or go inside?” Viggo murmured.

“Honestly? I’d like to keep stargazing and necking.” He blushed a little and nibbled Viggo’s neck.

“With an emphasis on necking?” Viggo teased. He returned his mouth to Elijah’s, sucking on his bottom lip and easing them over so he could lie on top.

Elijah smiled up at Viggo. “Stargazing at my favorite star....”

“I’m no star, but you do make me shine like one inside.” Viggo blushed a little at the ridiculousness of his own words.

“Were you this romantic with your wife?” Elijah stroked his hands up and down Viggo’s back. “Cause you are always so romantic with me... I couldn’t help but wonder.”

“You really want to know?” Viggo asked, his mouth twisting into a wry smile.

“I don’t mind knowing... I know you’ve avoided talking about her... but... it doesn’t upset me. That was then and you two were long over before I came along.”

“She wasn’t really the romantic type. She preferred rough dirty talk... actually, she did a lot of it herself.”

“Rough dirty talk? That has its place sometimes...” he grinned and kissed Viggo softly, “but I like the romance too.”

Viggo slid a hand under the front of Elijah’s shirt and rubbed gently. “Should I keep talking romance or start in with the dirty?”

Elijah whimpered softly. “I’d rather stay with the stargazing, romantic lover... if you have no objections?”

“So, I should stop with the stomach and start with the sweetness?” Viggo kissed Elijah’s cheeks, his neck, his forehead and finally, his lips.

“I like sweetness.” Elijah sighed into their kiss, his hands sliding into Viggo’s hair as their kiss lingered and started over again and again.

Viggo pulled him closer and carefully rolled himself completely on top. “I love you, Elijah.”

Elijah purred back his response, “And I love you, my Viggo.”

“Three little words that nobody has ever improved on in the history of language.” Viggo shifted to let his legs rest more comfortably.

“The most amazing in the world... So little and so brilliantly huge.”

“Perhaps I should memorize some poetry to recite to you at times like these?”

Elijah had to laugh at that. “Like you don’t already have dozens of verses memorized?”

“None that do you justice,” Viggo rumbled.

Elijah blushed and looked up at Viggo with his eyes full of love. “Thank you.”

“Aw, Lij, it would be really corny if I didn’t mean it so much.” Viggo kissed his neck and then rested his head there.

Elijah’s eyes were bright with a hint of tears and full of emotion. “You are the most amazing man... and you don’t even realize it do you?”

“Listen to us,” Viggo said with another kiss to Lij’s mouth. “If Dom or Billy heard us right now, they’d piss themselves laughing.”

“Who cares what they would think? What I care is how we feel... and if I want us to be sappy and romantic, we will.”

“And we are,” Viggo said. “In fact, we do it quite a lot. Makes for the perfect end to a perfect day.”

Elijah nodded. “This has been one of the better ones, I agree.”

“What was your best day ever?” Viggo asked. He arranged himself so he took a bit of weight off his smaller lover.

“Ever?” Elijah’s lips turned upwards and he smiled at his love. “Do- do you remember... just after we moved in together, I spent our one day off all sick? You took care of me... made me broth and cleaned up after I was sick... took care of all those things... I had a bath... and you put clean sheets on the bed, things like that.”

“That was your perfect day?” Viggo asked with a little smile. “Why?”

I have never felt that... cherished before. I- I grew up quickly you know... and I loved it. I loved acting... but... well I was the man around the house when I was seven... I was the bread winner with Dad not there...” He shrugged. “I didn’t mind... just... I got to experience someone taking care of it all. It was perfect.”

A warm smile blossomed on Viggo’s face. “You don’t need to get sick for me to take care of you. It’s not like I need an excuse to love you.”

“But... that’s the thing... I didn’t have to ask... I didn’t even have to tell you I wasn’t feeling well... you just did it all. It was wonderful.”

“You are a little romantic. Here I was expecting you to pick the day we first kissed or first met... something along those lines, and you managed to find something even more special.”

“You asked for the best, so that’s it.” Elijah smiled up at Viggo, running his fingers through Viggo’s hair and up and down his back.

“I’ll try to help come up with some even better ones,” Viggo promised. He rubbed his head against the stroking fingers and rumbled happily at Elijah.

Elijah sank his fingers back to Viggo’s hair and started massaging his head, knowing how much Viggo loved that, lifting his head to press it to Viggo’s chest, listening to the wonderful sounds his lover made.

“You like to make me growl and purr like a big cat,” Viggo said. He pressed himself closer to Elijah and deliberately growled deeply.

Elijah shivered pleasantly and agreed with a soft noise as his hands continued to massage Viggo’s scalp.

“You want to know my best day, Elijah? Well, other than the day Henry was born?” Viggo craned his neck to look down at Elijah, where he pressed against his chest.

“Tell me?” Elijah’s request was soft and he pressed his ear even closer.

“The first day we shot together. You didn’t trust me at first, either my acting or my personality. As we went through our scene together, you got to trust me more and more. I could see you fight against the trust because you didn’t want to be disloyal to Stu, but my heart warmed the more I saw you lose the battle.” Viggo nuzzled his hair and kissed once.

Elijah sighed. “I liked Stu. He was a good bloke... wrong for the part, but he’s still a friend, you know? I- I did feel disloyal... took ages for me to be able to say that. Stu had to say it first.”

Viggo rested on him gently, pulling him up to kiss. “And longer for you to really let me in.”

“Maybe... I don’t know that that had much to do with Stu... I liked you... I wanted to get to know you... the guy behind it all... but... still... I wonder if there was a part of me that knew that I could be this in love with you and was protecting me.”

“You wanted to protect yourself from me? My poor love. I’m so glad you let yourself love me. I wouldn’t have been happy if you had shut me out of your life.”

“I don’t think I could have... not forever... maybe for a little while longer, but eventually you would have worn me down, lover... my heart would have worn me down.”

“I did my best. I don’t know if I ever wooed anyone as hard as I chased you. It’s a good thing I’m tough, or I might have given up.”

Elijah pressed a soft kiss to Viggo’s chin. “Thank you for not giving up.”

“The reward was too great to give up without a protracted battle... you were worth the potential heartbreak.”

Elijah sighed deeply, whispering softly, “God, I love you!”

“Do you now?” Viggo kissed him and slipped both hands under his shirt to caress him. “As I said, the reward was well worth the risk.”

“Yes, you are.” Elijah pressed their lips together softly, with all the love he could.

"What were you risking, hmmm? What did you fear I would do to you?" Viggo suckled his way down Elijah's neck and chewed his ear.

"Offer only an onset romance, while I fell desperately in love with you."

"I was a little old to be chasing after flings," Viggo murmured, licking Elijah's ear. "Of course, I'm a little too old for you, anyway."

"No, you're not!!!" Elijah's voice was VERY firm. "You're perfect!! We're perfect!! Take that back."

"We are perfect," Viggo purred reassuringly. "When I first desired you, I worried about our age difference, but I grew to want you so much, I didn't care anymore. And now, I know it doesn't matter between us."
