Disclaimer: I don't own/know/control any of these people. They are their own. I just write stories, which aren't true by any stretch!

Dom arrived early, nervously searching out a seat at the bar. He couldn't figure out the nagging feeling in his stomach. Damn those two ... he would have been fine had Billy and Lij not said anything. But now he was thinking ... which only made things worse. He chose a spot at a corner booth, which looked out on the relatively empty pub. He wiggled himself behind the table, nervously drumming his bitten nails on the table.

Elijah and Billy strolled in, hands clasped together as they walked up to the bar, not spotting Dom in the corner yet. Billy ordered them drinks. Lij leaned in to whisper something and Billy laughed before leaning in to steal a small kiss. Dom really envied them now. They were so natural and comfortable together. He tried to tell himself he didn't care ... that he didn't want that ... that he couldn't feel Miranda's lips brushing against his. He shook his head and yelled across the bar to the hobbits. "OI! Daft cunts ... come over here."

Billy and Elijah looked up from the bar to see Dom practically bouncing in his booth. They made their way over, drinks in hand and sat down next to him. "So, are ye excited fer tonight, Dommeh?" Billy smirked.

"If you're going to be like this, I'm kicking you out of my booth right now," Dom exclaimed, fidgeting with his coaster. He was already nervous enough, but to have an audience made it even worse. "Ah'm just jokin Dommeh .... et'll be fine. Elijah and I will be super quiet. Ye won't even know we're 'ere!" Billy winked over at Dom and squeezed Elijah's hand.

The door to the bar opened and in walked Harry, practically carrying the already drunken Bean. "Here comes trouble!" Elijah smirked as they walked over. Harry waved to the hobbits. "HELLLOOOO HOBBITS!" Bean yelled, not quite realizing how loud he was. The trio couldn't help but crack up. Seeing Bean drunk was always a real treat. Harry sat Bean down next to Dom and went to the bar to fetch them both drinks.

"Soooooo, how are myfavorite hobbitsseesss?" Bean slurred out, throwing his arm around Dom. "You know I love you guys ... you're all so small, and funny looking!" The hobbits exchanged glances and broke out laughing again. "We're good Bean. Just having a hobbit huddle. But you're more than welcome to join in. We were just talking about Dom and M ..." before Elijah could finish, Dom's hand was clamped securely over his mouth. Elijah looked over, smiling with his bright, blue eyes. Dom slowly removed his hand, allowing Elijah to ... ahem ... finish. "Dom and ...uh ... me and our video game tournament we're playing at my house next week," he finished, somewhat convincingly.

"Well, I don'tknowerrrr anything about those so carry on!" Bean waved them off and gladly accepted his beverage from Harry. Not a moment later Miranda and Liv came in. Dom was speechless. Miranda was clad in a simple, yet stunning black dress, her hair pulled back, not seductively but it somehow had that effect as her curls framed her face. Bean waved them over, much to Dom's dismay. He wasn't ready to deal with this just yet. He needed a few more drinks, and a bunch more courage before he could even attempt to talk to Miranda tonight.

Miranda looked over, immediately spotting Dom amongst the booth of familiar faces. She felt her cheeks flush as she clamped onto Liv's arm nervously. They made their way to the table, Billy and Elijah jumping out of their seats to give the girls hugs, trying to conceal their smirks. They allowed Miranda and Liv their seats, making sure Miranda went in first, taking a convenient seat next to Dom, who glared at his two best friends.

The night passed awkwardly for Dom and Miranda. They attempted to fill the time with conversation, but it always seemed to come to a dead stop, as they both fidgeted uneasily with whatever was infront of them at that moment. The rest of the group got up from the table and had taken to dancing and playing pool. Elijah and Billy danced slowly in eachothers arms, quietly whispering words of love to eachother. Bean and Harry had challenged Liv to a game of pool and were in the process of being brutally beaten, as they could barely hold the cues in their intoxicated state. Dom suggested they go join the group huddled around the pool table, to which Miranda thankfully agreed. The air was far too tense between them, and they'd be lying if they didn't feel the nervous energy radiating from one another. They stood and headed over to the pool table, as Bean latched himself drunkedly to Dom.

"You know what Dom? You'rejustsogreat! I justloveyoutopieces" Bean quickly slurred through his sentances, as Dom tried to decipher the drunken blather. Even in all their years of knowing eachother, Dom still found it difficult to understand Bean when he was like this. He could decode drunken Scottish slang with the best of them, but for the life of him he couldn't understand Bean at all. He simply laughed and patted Bean on the back. "You too, mate. Love you too" he said, hoping that's what Bean was talking about.

"Imeanyou'rejustsofantasticAndnowyouandMirandaaretogetherandthasjustsocute!" Dom clearly understood this sentance and he whipped his head around to look at Miranda, his entire face flushing. Miranda's face, however, turned pale as her nervousness swept over her tenfold. Bean tugged Dom back over, pulling his head into a headlock. "Nowdon'tyouthinkyoushouldkissher? COMEON!! Giveyourgirlfriendakiss. Forbeanie!!"

Dom nervously looked to Miranda once more. "Bean thinks we should kiss .... I mean ... we don't wanna dissapoint him, do we?" Dom tried to make it come off like a joke, and though he was embarassed, he was almost thankful at his drunken friend.

"Well, I guess we could. I mean, if we distract him enough, maybe he'll keep his trousers on this time and we won't get chucked out." Miranda smiled awkwardly, finding it funny that Bean had read her mind so well. Dom grinned crookedly as he moved towards her. "Yeah, I'm having too much fun to get kicked out. I guess it's almost our duty to do this," he fumbled out, not sure where this was coming from, but not about to stop. "Yeah, I guess it kinda is," Miranda smiled back, her face mere inches from his.

"So?"
They moved closer, Dom able to feel Miranda's warm breath, to smell her perfume, a mixture of lilac and a hint of vanilla.
"Um ... I guess we should ..."
Miranda could feel the small stubble on Dom's upper lip gently graze the little spot beneath her nose.
"Alright then"

Dom plunged his lips against hers, the swimming in his head blocking out the catcalls from Bean, Harry and Liv, who were celebrating the kiss as they excitedly jumped around the abandoned game of pool. He put his hand around her tiny waist, the small frame of her body now pressed against his own. Her hands sought out his discheveled hair, weaving her fingers through it. The nervousness now turned itself into desire, their lips unwilling to part as their tongues carressed eachother. The whole room faded away as they embraced, the last few days of self inflicted torture ceased to exist as they held eachother, each knowing the others feelings with one little kiss.
