Dom weaved his car through the heavy traffic of South-West London. He cursed himself for not using public transport. Although he’d lived in the capital for close to three years he still wasn’t quite adjusted. He’d moved to London chasing dreams and straight out of law school. He’d soon got a job at a small firm and worked his way up the ladder. At the moment he was specialising in environmental law, hoping to make partner in the next five years.
He’d met Lij about a year ago through a friend of his fathers. Sean had told Dom that Elijah was new to London having moved from America and asked Dom if the younger man could stay with him until he got used to the city. Elijah attended Westminster University and was doing his degree in computer games design and programming. Despite the fact it was supposed to be a temporary arrangement, Elijah had ended up staying at Dom’s apartment.
Just as Dom’s Maserati came to a halt in the gridlock, his Samsung began to vibrate on his dashboard.
“Hello?” Dom answered, trying to sound nonchalant. It was obviously Elijah begging for his forgiveness and for him to return to their flat.
“Dommeh, where the fuck do you live these days?” a Scottish voice asked him, slightly exasperated. Dominic was completely taken aback; he hadn’t spoken to Billy in what seemed like forever.
“Billy! I live in Kensington at the moment. Why, are you writing your Christmas cards three months early?” Dom teased his mate, happy to hear his voice.
“No ya daft bastard! I’m in London and totally and completely lost. My car buggered up and now I’m in somewhere called… Hammersmith.” Billy explained, pronouncing the letters of the place name very slowly and clearly as it was somewhere foreign and unfamiliar.
“Well believe it or not people do speak English in London. But wait by the station and I’ll come pick you up. You’ve got time for a beer right?” Dom asked as the queue of cars in front of him finally started moving.
“Yeah sure mate. See ya soon.” Billy told him and ended the phone call.
Dom made his way back across the Thames to pick up his old friend. Every so often he stole a glance at the phone on his dash, wondering when Elijah would call.

Elijah stayed sitting out on the balcony of the upmarket flat. He’d almost worked through his packet of cigarettes and it wasn’t even 2pm. He considered phoning Dom but decided against it. He just needed to accept that Dominic wasn’t interested. Or not interested anymore, whatever. He’d obviously missed his chance.
Lij sighed at this realisation, although part of him had known for a long time. He needed a distraction from Dom. A deep shiver vibrated though Elijah and the icy wind wrapped it’s tendrils around his body and bare feet. He walked into the house and went into his bedroom.
Climbing over the mess of clothes, CD cases and books he should have read for class he managed to get to his small and cluttered desk. Elijah took the laptop and went to sit on the bed in the center of the room.
He logged in and contemplated working on his assignment. After debating it for a moment, he signed into MSN and checked his e-mail. Almost instantly, a conversation window popped up from “<orli_b@hotmail.co.uk> Viggo would you just fucking call me already- I should be doing my assignment right now. Fuck that.
Hey Lijah :)
Elijah smiled to himself at the friendly greeting, a distraction

“There is absolutely no way Phillipa was fitter than Kate!” Dom exclaimed with a laugh as he put his half empty glass back down on the table. Him and Billy were reminiscing about old times at law school in Glasgow.
“I seem to remember you shagging her a few times though.” Billy stated with a glint in his eye. “Ah, those were the days. How are things with Elijah?”
Dom stared a knot in the dark wood of the table. “We’re not… It’s not like that.”
“But I thought you were together. Last time we spoke you told me about what happened with him and-”
“It’s not like that okay Billy.” Dom looked up to his eye line and cut him off mid-sentence. Billy sensed the tension in his friends voice but continued questioning him.
“I thought you really fancied him. What happened?” Dom took a long sip from his pint and paused.
“I did. I do. He’s just too young and- hang on. I’m straight.” Billy almost choked on his drink. Dom decided to ignore this and carry on speaking. “I’d just broken up with Cate and I was lonely and drunk. It was so fucking irresponsible of me because I knew he had a crush on me.” Dom sighed loudly. “I just can’t help being irresistible Bills.” He added to lighten the mood a bit.
“But you like him yeh?” Billy asked, although he already knew the answer.
“Well yeah but-” Dom tried to protest but was cut off.
“And he likes you?”
“Yes but that‘s not the point-” Dom started to his tell his friend.
“So then remind me again why exactly you’re gettin‘ pissed with a lost Scotsman when there‘s a lovely young man waiting for you at home?” Dom considered this for a moment.
“How long are you gonna be in London Bill?”
***

Elijah chatted to Orli on MSN for a while. It didn’t take long for him to start flirting with Lij and he played along. After all, he was Orlando fucking Bloom, the hottest guy on campus. He was a drama student and Lijah had met him through Liv.
Orlando asked Elijah whether he had read Lord of the Rings as he had to do a piece on it but hadn’t gotten around to actually reading it. Lijah confessed he had as a teenager and was always fascinated by the elves. He then took a deep breath and typed You can come over if you like and I‘ll give you some help. Dominic’s not here so it’ll be quiet . Orli told him that he’d be there in 20 minutes. Elijah begin to tidy up his bedroom frantically.

Luckily Billy was in town on business for a fortnight so Dom put him on a District Line train to Edgware road and told him to call him in a few days when he could work a London Underground map.
Dom had five much needed days off but he still had a load of paperwork to do, so he decided to stop by the office for an hour of so to pick it up and get a bit done.
“Hello Dom.” Miranda greeted him as she stepped out of her office. “I thought you weren’t working today. Have I got my rota messed up again?” She asked, a little flustered and carrying a large blue folder.
“Oh no, I was just picking up some paperwork.” and procrastinating going home and professing my love for my 24 year old lodger. he added silently.
“Okay. Well I left some of the research on the Waterman case that David did on your desk if you want it. I’m going to get some lunch at the sushi place. You wanna come with?” She offered. Dom was good friends with Mir and found her upbeat conversation made him feel a little better.
“I can’t but thanks for leaving the papers on my desk.” Dom told her but she was already down the stairwell.
“Bye then!” Dom laughed as he shut the door to his corner office.
***

Elijah opened the white door just as Orli raised his hand to knock.
“Hi” Elijah smiled, a little uncomfortable. “I have a sixth sense about these things. And I heard you singing Madonna when you were coming up the stairs.”
Orlando laughed, almost lost for words. “I bought you this.” He produced a bottle of wine from behind his back. “To help us study.”
“Of course.” Elijah answered, his eyebrows quirking slightly. “Even though it’s only,” He checked his watch “4.35pm.” Lij lead them through to the modern living room and sat down of the large white sofa, Orlando placing himself next to him.
“So…” Elijah breathed, very aware of the fact Orli was staring into his sparkling eyes. He tore his gaze away from the velvet brown pools of light before him. “I should probably get some glasses for the wine.”
“Yeah.” Orlando said more to himself than Elijah.
***

Dom read the first sentence of the page again In 2002, Waterman owned a cosmetics company named- I wonder what he tastes like. Fuck. He just couldn’t concentrate. He stuffed the papers in his messenger bag and walked out of the office block, intent on going home and fucking Lijah into the mattress.
***

Elijah returned with two large wine glasses and an apprehensive look on his face. He just need to stop thinking. Stop thinking of Dom, stop thinking of everything and just focus on moving on. Moving on with Lando.
He sat back down and moved a little closer to Orli.
***

Dom sped home, not really concentrating on driving. He just wanted to get back. Back to Elijah. After spending a couple of minutes trying to find a space, he parked his car and walked into the apartment building. Dom skulked over to the lift and saw the ‘Out of order’ sign. He was paying £350 a week and the pissing lift didn’t work. Great. He began to trudge up the 12 flights of stairs it took to get home.
***

Orlando tilted his head to the left slightly moving closer to Elijah. Lij pressed his lips to his friends, suddenly unsure of himself. Orli placed a hand on the small of his back and began to kiss him. Elijah opened his mouth slightly to grant Lando access. Cautiously he slid his tongue into the older mans mouth and laced his arms around his body.
Neither of them noticed Dom open and close the door.
Neither of them noticed Dom running into the bathroom and empty the contents of him stomach.
