Elijah blinked.

Slowly he shut his locker. Had he just entered some weird form of a teenage movie? Or maybe the twilight zone?

He blinked once more.

Then opened his locker and stared at the blood red rose there – a note tied to its stem. Cautiously he glanced around before tugging at the note.

~I had an amazing time on Saturday. You make the most amazing face when you hit. Meet me after school – my truck's in the student parking lot.

+ Orlando + ~

A blush crept up Elijah's face and he quickly ducked his head into the locker, hiding from view. Inside his heart was racing and everything suddenly seemed to be sent to cloud nine – or somewhere incredibly blissful.

* + *

~I've never danced in the rain.

I've never spent a weekend from home.

I've never had a girlfriend… or well… I suppose I should say boyfriend.

I've never had my heart broken.

I got a blood red rose in my locker. I've never had that happen before.

I've never sat under the stars, laying on a blanket and renaming constellations.

I've never gone skinny dipping.

I've never cried myself to sleep.~

Elijah heard the yelled goodbye from
Orlando to another friend as he slowly closed his book. He decided with a brief mental nod that leaning against the truck looked the most casual.

Orlando smiled at him – acknowledging him – before looking around for people who could possibly be paying attention.

Elijah frowned at the action until suddenly
Orlando was there, pressing him against the truck – their lips sliding together in a passionate tangle touch.

Then
Orlando pulled back, took a step back and let out a shaky breath.

"Whoa," Elijah cleared his throat, licking his lips. "Hi…"

Orlando grinned, reaching forward and touching his hand just lightly. "Hey."

"How are you?" Elijah found himself whispering, fighting the uncontrollable urge to look around.

"Perfect. You?"

This was not what Elijah had expected.

As
Orlando drove him home, as they kissed slowly and languidly on his couch, Elijah was in awe. There was this amazing sparkle and flutter of something amazing. Something most wonderful.

On Tuesday,
Orlando was waiting in his truck outside when Elijah came out the door to head for school. Orlando greeted him with a brief kiss to the cheek that made Elijah's heart flutter.

And in English class, Elijah was startled out of his half doze – stupid dull teacher – by a note sliding under his arm.

-       This class is boring. I wish she'd shut up. –

Elijah looked at it, blinked, then wrote back.

~ She never shuts up. Nothing new there.~

-       Teachers are so like that. Hey, I had a question. –

~ Alright, shoot. ~

-       Will you… erm… do you wanna be my boyfriend? –

A loud scraping of desks on tiled floor interrupted Miss. Williams, causing her to turn from the black board and the class members to turn in their seats and look. Many of them started to laugh when they saw
Orlando's head poking out from the arms of Elijah encircling him.

"Boys! Stop goofing around!"

Elijah straightened himself in the desk, blushing brilliantly at the sound of laughter from his classmates.

Orlando smiled in his usual charming manor, his eyes steadying on the teacher with an apologetic nature.

After a few minutes a piece of paper landed carelessly onto
Orlando's desk, startling him from his 'I'm-honestly-not-paying-attention-but-am-pretending-to' gaze. He glanced at Elijah – saw his eyes glued resolutely to the teacher's – then opened the note.

~ Yeah sure… that'd be okay. ~

Orlando chuckled lightly and rolled his eyes before allowing a smile to cover his face.

* + *

~Pretty little face
Of a pretty blue eyed boy
Don't listen to their laughs
But please continue blushing
I love that little smile
You always seem so sweet
I wonder little boy
How is it that we met?~

"Whatcha writing?" Elijah slid into the passenger side of the truck, giving
Orlando a curious look as he quickly closed the book in his lap.

"Nothing,"
Orlando shoved the books into his back, remembering a time when Elijah had done the same thing – not so long ago. "So… did you get everything worked out with that teacher."

"Yup," Elijah nodded, choosing to forget about the book for right now.

After all, he and Orlando were officially together now, so they would learn more about each other as time went on.

Orlando was always there – every morning – as Elijah stepped out the door. It made him grin and get that sweaty palm, racing heart feeling that he wondered – would it ever disappear? Well… he'd actually grown to like the feeling.

And he was there after school, waiting by his truck with that goddamn sexy welcoming smile.

Things seemed really… together… and Elijah was really growing to like it.

"So… how long has it been?" Dom asked with a teasing smile at lunch one particularly sunny autumn day.

Elijah's eyes were focused on
Orlando as he traveled across the room to sit with his group of friends. Vivid pictures of Orlando's tongue doing wicked things to his hard length the night before in his bedroom made him blush.

Billy cleared his throat and Elijah looked up at them – startled.

"Oh… sorry… what?" Elijah lifted a confused eyebrow.

Dom and Billy laughed merrily. "I asked, how long have you two been together?"

"Oh," Elijah blushed more, pushing his glasses up his nose with a slight shove. "Well… four and a half weeks… thirty days… unless you count the few nights from before… well when we first kissed… then it's thirty five days."

More laughter escaped the two boys.

"What?" He grumbled, ducking his head down to try and avoid the blush crawling up his neck.

"Keeping track?" Billy teased.

"Oh and like you wouldn't!" Elijah shot in return, scowling.

"75 days, 4 hours, 12 minutes and 32 seconds… 33… 34… yeah…" Billy stated, glancing slightly at his watch.

Elijah looked up, frowning at him. "Huh?"

"That's how long Dom and I have been together," Billy grinned.

Dom blushed, his eyes watering lightly as he threw his arm over Billy's shoulder and squeezed lightly. The most contact he could give in the lunch room.

Elijah laughed, "I knew it! I so knew it! Congrats you losers! Why didn't you tell me?!?"

"We're selfish," Dom informed, dropping his arm and bringing it to rest – under the table – on Billy's upper thigh.

"Completely," Billy stated with a nod.

Elijah nodded as well, taking a bite of his sandwich and letting his eyes fall distractedly to
Orlando – laughing at something. He imagined kissing along that neck, tasting that sweet skin. A flush crept once more up his neck.

"Does it bug you that he doesn't sit with you at lunch?" Billy asked, glancing in the direction Elijah was gazing.

Elijah turned to him, shrugging lightly and focusing on his food once more. "I know I could sit with him and he wouldn't mind."

"You sure?" Dom prodded gently.

Elijah shot him a testy look. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"Just…" Dom shrugged. "Well… he's part of the popular group and your well… not."

"So?" Elijah frowned. "He's my friend. Hell, he's more then my friend. I bet I could go up to him anytime and he'd be fine with that."

Dom nodded, Billy looked uncertain.

"Don't believe me?" Elijah scowled, moving quickly to pack up his things. "I'll prove it, if that's what you need. I'll prove it."

"No! We believe you!" Dom insisted, raising his hand lightly. "Of course he'd let you! I mean, you're dating!"

Elijah nodded and slowly sat back down, blinking and reaching into his lunch bag once more. He knew that
Orlando cared for him and would accept him but – well they hardly talked at school besides English class. And even then it wasn't really talking.

And
Orlando never really noticed him in the halls… but with all the people it was sometimes so hard to see…

So yeah, of course
Orlando would accept him.

The problem was – as Elijah pushed his glasses once more up his nose – he didn't completely believe that.
