"What if I don't come back?" Dom says. His voice is reedy and thin, and his eyes are wide open, straining to see things in the deep shadows of Billy's room: things that aren't there anymore and things that were never there in the first place. They're all just old ghosts chasing each other around the room and it makes Dom want to hiss at them to stop and stand still.
