Re-post cus I messed up my tags last night *facepalm*

Title: ‘There Was You.’
Author: Me (obsgirl)
Rating: PG
Pairing: Orli/Dom
Disclaimer: Not mine.
Warnings: Major, sappy fluff at the end. Ugh. I apologise now, because it’s really terrible.
A/N: A short fic inspired by the story that Orli and Kate may have split up. It’s a bit all over the place and a lot not very good, but I just sort of wrote it down as it came into my head so that’s why.

*

‘I did it.’

‘What?’

‘I did it, I broke up with her.’

‘You did?’

‘Yeah. Today, I told her we were spending too much time apart and we should see other people.’

‘Wow…did she cry?’

‘Dom!’

‘What? I was only asking…’

Orlando Bloom laughed softly. ‘Nah, she didn’t cry. She just nodded and left. She looked a bit hurt, but I couldn’t keep stringing her along.’

‘Fair enough.’

There was a long pause. Orlando felt uncomfortable, but not in a bad way, not in the way he did when he was around Kate. It was more that he was alone now, not with the person he wanted to be with. Finally, he spoke again.

‘I’m, uh, moving over to LA for a bit while I work on Pirates,’ he said. ‘You’re still over there, right? Maybe we could meet up or something…’

‘That would be great!’ Dom Monaghan replied, a little too enthusiastically. ‘I mean…uh… yeah, sure. That would be…good.’

‘Ok. Look, I gotta go, Dom. Talk you soon.’

*

Dom met Orlando off the plane. Orlando was staying in a hotel not too far from Dom’s flat, so Dom was going to drive him there.

It was basically a reason for them to see each other.

They reached the hotel all too soon. Neither one wanted to leave the car, but neither one would admit it. Eventually, after a long silence, Orlando undid his seatbelt.

‘I should get signed in and stuff,’ he mumbled. Then: ‘me and Kate stayed here once. It was terrible, paparazzi everywhere. Should be ok this time, just me on my own…’

‘Want me to be your body guard and take you up to your room, just in case?’ Dom joked, although inwardly he was pleading for Orlando to say yes.

‘That would be awesome,’ Orlando grinned.

So they went inside, and sure enough, there were at least 5 press members lurking in the lobby. Orlando checked in and the two men went up to his suite, leaving the press behind.

It was a huge suite, and had a great view, but Orlando wasn’t paying attention. His head was in a total whirl – he and Dom were alone in the room, and even though he had only been split up from Kate for a few weeks, all he could think about was Dom.

And all Dom could think about was Orlando. And how good Orlando looked standing there, framed against the window, his hair falling messily around his face, his eyes distant.

Orlando couldn’t take it any longer. Dumping his bags on the floor, he walked over to Dom and kissed him, without a word, full on the mouth. Dom returned the kiss immediately.

‘It was never going to last with Kate,’ Orlando said, slightly breathlessly, as they pulled apart. ‘Because there was always you. I didn’t know it to start with, but… I love you, Dom. I think I always have.’

‘I love you too. And I know I always have.’

Feedback is greatly appreciated, I'm sad and need cheering up *puppy eyes*
