My White Rose

MY WHITE ROSE
By: Bailey [livejournal.com profile] prreciousss

Comment: At first I had Dom and Elijah in mind, but I wrote it so the reader can decide for themselves. But since I had D/E in mind, I think the story is suitable for this comm.

Feedback: PLEASE?! :)

Do you know what you look like when you're sleeping? Like a white rose in winter, a strong flower that stands against all odds. I watch you, studying every feature of your face, neck and hands. Your eyelids are fluttering a little, your beautiful lips are slightly parted, your hands are resting in your lap, there's a band-aid covering the papercut on your right thumb, and the vein down your neck is distinguished. I have to swallow in amazement. For months I've wanted to kiss those lips, which move slightly as you shift in your sleep. For months I've wanted to hold your hand in mine, feeling the warmth of it fill me up, and the band-aid scrape against the back of my own hand. For months I've wanted to taste that neck, put my mouth right on the pulsing vein and sample the skin. Your head falls onto my shoulder and I look down on you, the look of comfort on your face is relaxing, as is the sound of your even breathing. I'm happy to have you here, I'm happy you exist, and that thought makes me lean to your forehead and place a lingering kiss upon it. The moment I pull away your eyes open, the stormy grey turns up to me, and for a second I panic, but you smile like a thousand sunrays, you take my hand and my body heats up like I'm boiling on the inside, then you close your eyes again. You don't fall asleep right away, your thumb is stroking the back of my hand, the band-aid scraping against it, until the movement slows down and finally stops. I go back to watching you sleep, waiting for spring when the white rose will blossom like the queen of all flowers.

This isn't bad, but it needs to be broken down into shorter, more readable paragraphs :)
