I claim naught and not.
London is freezing and he hasn't slept in a week. The hotel confronts him with cold sheets and windows frosted with loneliness so he just drifts all night between the warm hollows of pubs. Finally he gives up, packs his suitcase, catches the train back to Glasgow. It's dumping buckets and Billy feels sour and frustrated with every raindrop beating his head as he climbs out of the car.
"There you are," Dom says, like it's normal for him to be standing on Billy's doorstep smoking a cigarette in the rain. They are both clutching suitcases and ignored appointments. Billy can see from the slide of Dom's shoulders that he's tired, and even from the distance between them he can feel heat sliding off Dominic's skin.
Billy sleeps that night.
