“Sean?”
”Yes, Elijah?”
”Would you still love me if I didn’t have my eyes?”
”Yes, Elijah.

“Sean?”
”Yeah, Lij?”
“Would you still love me if I killed someone?”
“Yes, Elijah.”

”Sean?”
”What?”
”Would you still love me if I betrayed you?”
Eyes narrowed. “Are you going to betray me?”
“Well, no, but. Hypothetically.”
“Yes, Elijah.”

“Sean?”
”Look, Elijah, I’m always gonna love you, okay? No matter what.”
“Even when I’m really old and have lost my boyish charm?”
”Yes, Elijah.”

”Sean?”
Silence. Repositioned himself, so Sean had to see him.
“Would you still love me if I loved you back?”
